Christ the Great High Priest (Hebrews 4:14-16)

“ 14 Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. 15 For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. ”
<Introduction>
I heard the content of a professor Hyung-suk Kim giving a lecture and he is 100 years old. He is a retired professor but continues to do a lot of activities. When I saw him, I realized that he was very earnest with his lectures and his lectures contained a lot of good meanings and content. Someone asked him what was his method of maintaining good health and the professor replied that every single day, he continues to go swimming for 20 minutes. When I saw him, I realized that he had such a good posture and even at the age of 100 years, he continues to exercise and go swimming every single day. I also heard another good message from his lectures and he said that there was one occasion that allowed him to gain a dream within his life. When he was starting junior high school, his father sat him down and told him to start his life with goals. His father told him his goals can be directed towards money and achieving success, and this may give him success later in life but if he studies with the heart to save his family line, then through him, his whole family line could be raised up. Also, his father told him that if he studied with a heart for the nation then he will become an individual who can move the nation. When the professor heard this from his father, he decided to become an individual who can move the nation and he studied with this kind of heart. From then on, he studied the best he could. Later on, he eventually was able to become a professor at Yonsei University and became a great professor. When I heard his lectures, I was really thankful. Right now, we have the gospel and we are living our lives for the sake of God’s kingdom, our nation, and the world. All of our direction is directed towards God’s kingdom and world evangelism, and we are praying directed with these prayer topics. Not only are we saving South Korea but God wants to save America and the world through us. Our remnants need to examine where your life’s direction is heading towards. You need to have a goal and direction in your life. Many people may direct their goals towards making a lot of money, being successful, or becoming an individual who will save America or a main figure to save the world but what kind of direction will you have? You need to determine your direction and if you pray with a devoted heart, then God will answer you accordingly. Since you are children of God, God will absolutely listen to your prayers and answer you. Today’s Scripture is very important that God has given to us today.
1. The Ascended Christ
1) The great high priest
Last message talked about how there will be the Day of Judgment during the last days and Jesus Christ will appear before us to give judgment upon the world. Great disasters and chaos will arise and people’s sins will be revealed and fully exposed as if they are naked before God. After Jesus spoke of this, He spoke of today’s Scripture regarding a High Priest among us.
Verse 14 - “…We have a great High Priest…” - For us this means that Jesus Christ who is the High Priest has died on the cross for us. “…Passed through the heavens” - The wording is really interesting here. If you look at the origin of this content, this means that He will pass through the heavens. The Jews when they speak of heaven, they believe that there are 3 levels of heaven. The first level is the earth’s atmosphere and the 2nd space is referring to the sun, stars, and space. And, the 3rd heaven is the heaven that the Bible speaks of and where God resides. They believe that God reigns in the highest level of heaven, the 3rd heaven.
Acts 1:11 (“Who also said, ‘Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.’ ”) - Jesus Christ ascended to heaven and they no longer were able to see Jesus but where did Jesus go? He went to sit at the right hand of God, at the right side of the throne of God. Who is this? He is the Son of God, Jesus Christ. This Jesus is the one who will bring judgment to this world, is the judge of this world, and He is our Christ. He finished all things, was victorious, and is now sitting at the right hand of God. He is our High priest and our ultimate judge. How thankful are we for this? During the Day of Judgment, this Jesus Christ who died for us is the one who will judge us.
That is why today’s Scripture reminds us to hold fast to our confession in verse 14. It is telling us to hold onto, hold fast onto this confession. What is this confession referring to? It means to hold onto our confession of faith. What is our confession of faith? It was what Simon Peter confessed in Matthew 16:16 that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God. Through today’s message, the message tells us to hold fast of our confession. This means to firmly hold onto this confession and faith. This means for us to hold onto and make it only Jesus Christ. Why is Jesus Christ so important?
2) The confession of faith
2 Peter 1:11 (“For so an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”) - The confession of faith that Jesus is the Christ, when you hold onto this confession then God promised that He will bless and supply us abundantly in heaven. This means that He will surely grant us salvation. How did we gain salvation? It was through Jesus Christ. Our judge is our Christ, our Savior. Then, that is it.
Romans 8:34 (“Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.”) - Who is this being? Jesus Christ is continuously interceding for us in heaven. The one who will judge us on the final judgment day, He is our Savior and continues to pray for us. How thankful are we for this?
2 Timothy 4:18 (“And the Lord will deliver me from every evil work and preserve me for His heavenly kingdom. To Him be glory forever and ever. Amen!”) - He is continuing to deliver us from evil. What is the work of evil? It is the work of the devil. He is the True King who has completely destroyed the powers of Satan. How thankful are we for this? Our judge is the one who destroyed the power of Satan and pulled us out from the bondage of Satan. How did we come to receive these blessings? He came down to earth in a physical, human body to solve our problems once in for all. How did He live in this world?
2. The High Priest Who Was Tested
1) Great love
Verse 15 - Jesus Christ sympathizes and understands our weaknesses. Not only that but He pitted and sympathized with us. Jesus Christ has shown us so much love.
Luke 19:41-42 (“Now as He drew near, He saw the city and wept over it, 42 saying, 'If you had known, even you, especially in this your day, the things that make for your peace! But now they are hidden from your eyes.' ”) - When Jesus was looking at Jerusalem who couldn’t understand the true gospel, it said that He wept for them. This is how much Jesus loved and loves us.
Verse 15 - Jesus was tempted the same way that humans were. He was born into a poor background and wasn’t born in a proper room but in a manger. But not only that but He was born into complete loneliness. Jesus Christ always said that there was no place for Him to rest and each one of his disciples were all betraying him. When He was caught by the Roman soldiers, all of His disciples all ran away. And, as He was living on this Earth, He was also tempted by Satan. But, what about death? He experienced the worst of all types and kinds of deaths. He experienced every type of suffering that every humankind would ever experience. But there was one difference. He was without sin. He experienced the same things as we did but He was without sin. Why is this so important that Jesus had no sin? Because He had no sin, He was able to bear all of our sins on the cross and die for us.
2) The blessing of redemption
Romans 3:23, 25 (“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. 25 Whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed.”) - In other words, those with sin, they cannot bear to stand before God. But Jesus Christ bore all of our sins and stood before God’s glory, and was able to stand boldly with our sins.
Romans 3:25 - Jesus who was sinless died for us as a propitiation by His blood and became the ultimate sacrifice for us and our sins. Why did Jesus Christ have to die like this?
It was to fulfill Isaiah 53:6 (“All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned, every one, to his own way; And the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.”) - It was to bear all of our iniquities. He was the True Priest. All of the priests in the Old Testament didn’t have to die or sacrifice for us and they couldn’t sacrifice themselves for the people because of their sins but Jesus Christ came as the ultimate sacrifice and that is why He is the True Priest. Why did He become the True Priest?
Romans 6:4 (“Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.”) - When we get baptized for our faith but long ago, they thought that baptism would guarantee them salvation. But when you accept Jesus Christ and become baptized, this is meaning that you are dying with Jesus Christ on the cross. Last week we talked about how when we accept Jesus Christ, all of your past has died and passed away, and it has completely died with Jesus Christ on the cross. No only that but Jesus Christ has given us new life. This is possible because of Jesus Christ’s death and His resurrection. Through His resurrection, we were able to live once again and gain new life. Why is that? It was because Jesus Christ resurrected and we were able to resurrect along with Jesus. We have died with Jesus and gained new life with Jesus again. What is the mystery of this?
To understand this, the Bible speaks of Colossians 3:3 (“For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.”) - When we died, we died along with Jesus. And the mystery of this is that we have died with Jesus and our lives have now been hidden in Jesus. Our new life is within Jesus Christ. This is a tremendous mystery. We may criticize others for their sins but we are hidden in Jesus so no one can find us because we are within Jesus’ bosom. This is our identity. What does this mean?
Ephesians 2:6 (“And raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus.”) - We who have been hidden with Jesus and we are with Jesus now, together. We are one body with Jesus. We are now one body. Jesus Christ is sitting at the right hand of God and this means that we are also sitting at the right hand of God. Alway remember this. Together with Jesus, we are able to enjoy the throne of God. We are always with God and we are always with Him through His word and worship. Through this, we need to hold onto the covenant once again of the messages given to us during the U.S. College Retreat.
3. Those Who Have Seen God
1) Seeing in advance
The messages that we have received are so tremendous. We are already within Christ and no matter what problem we face, we already possess the answers. We already possess all of the answers. Enjoy this. When you hold onto this, then no matter what problem comes, then there is no need for you to worry. Through the college retreat messages, it spoke about how it was part of God’s absolute plan for the Israelites to go to the land of Canaan. They already knew the end result. This means that they had to cross the Jordan River. In order to follow God’s absolute covenant, they had to go through the Jordan River. What did the Israelites possess? They only had God’s commandment. God gave them one condition and that was to put the ark of the covenant forward and for them to just follow the ark of the covenant. If they just follow the covenant then they will be led accordingly. This the covenant that we need to hold onto as well. If we hold onto the covenant, then world evangelism has no choice but to take place. That is the absolute covenant. This will absolutely be fulfilled. When the covenant is fulfilled, if problems and incidents arise, they will not be problems because we already possess the answers.
Verse 16 - We have obtained mercy. Why did God tell us this? We have already received God’s mercy but we always fall down. We already possess great identity and we are within God’s royal throne. Then, what must we do? Just like how the Israelites held onto the ark of the covenant, we need to hold onto the word of God. When we hold onto God’s word, then God promised that we will obtain mercy. When we enjoy the throne of God, then we will remember that we are within God’s mercy and grace. When we hold onto God’s word, then all doors will open. When we do this, then the doors for our future will open for us. When we are able to see the future, then we can enjoy it in advance. When we enjoy it in advance, then we need to hold onto the flow of the covenant. The pulpit message is given to us according to the flow of the gospel and God’s flow. We need to always see the flow of the covenant.
2) Experiencing in advance
The Israelites crossed the Red Sea and it didn’t stop there. The people who crossed the Red Sea, they also crossed the Jordan River. Those with faith will know that they had to cross the Jordan River also. Joshua and Caleb understood this and had faith regarding this. When we enjoy this, then we can receive the answers of the future. There is a message that God has given to us. Follow the ark of the covenant. The Israelites followed the ark of the covenant. When they were circling the wall of Jericho, they were following the ark of the covenant. This means to pray and to experience prayer. This is what it means. Through prayer they were able to break down the wall of Jericho. The Israelites didn’t have to fight at all but through their prayers alone, they were able to break down the wall of Jericho. There is something that we must hold onto. Our current wall of Jericho is not the main concern but what happens afterwards is more important. The kings behind the wall of the Jericho will come after them. There were 31 kings but n matter how many kings there were, they would defeat them no matter what. They already experienced this in advance. Those who are within the covenant and within God, then they will see in advance and experience it in advance.
Joshua 3:4 (“Yet there shall be a space between you and it, about two thousand cubits by measure. Do not come near it, that you may know the way by which you must go, for you have not passed this way before.”) - They were following the ark of the covenant and the word of God but the scriptures said that they may know the way even though they never came to it before. This means that they will go through ways that they don’t know and never went before but through the word of God, they will be led perfectly. What does this mean? Those who hold onto God’s word, all doors will open for you. Wherever you go, the works of conquest will take place and you will be able to conquer all things. When you follow God’s word, then the doors of victory will open for you. May you hold onto this.
Verse 16 - “…Come boldly with throne of grace…and mercy…” What does this mean? Hold onto God’s word. This means to hold onto God’s word, hold onto the pulpit message. Then, you will know the way which you must go even though you never crossed those roads before. Then, through worship, you will gain great grace. This is the covenant that we must hold onto.
Acts 1:8 (“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”) - Our dream is to become witnesses till the ends of the Earth. When we hold onto this dream, then God will open the doors of world evangelism and 237 nations to us. Be victorious.
Conclusion
Hold onto Mark 16:19-20 (“After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, He was taken up into heaven and He sat at the right hand of God. 20 Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed His Word by the signs that accompanied it.”) - When we enjoy the throne of God and go with God’s word, then all doors will open for us. God who is with us will work through us with His power. God promised that He will confirm His word. Hold onto the content that was spoken about during the college retreat. Find your content. Find your field content for the sake of world evangelism. May you be victorious in the name of Jesus Christ.
큰 대제사장 되신 그리스도(히4:14-16)
서론
제가 그저께 TV에서 김형석 교수님의 강의하는 내용을 잠깐 들었다. 그 분은 연세가 지금 101세가 되신 분이다. 연세대학교 교수를 하시다가 은퇴하시고 많은 활동을 하고 계신 분이다. 그런데 제가 보니까 아주 정정하시고 말씀하시는데 아주 의미있는 내용을 하시는 것을 들었다. 어떤 분이 건강의 비결이 무엇이냐고 물었다. 그 분 말씀이 저는 지금도 날마다 수영장에 가서 매일 수영을 하고 있습니다 했다. 규모있는 분은 틀리구나, 지금도 101세가 되었음에도 불구하고 수영을 하시니 건강하시구나 하는 생각이 들었다. 그런데 그 중에서 제가 의미있는 메세지를 들었다. 자신이 인생의 꿈을 갖게된 계기가 있다고 했다. 자기 아버지가 자기 중학교 입학했을 때 합격 소리를 들으시고는 앉혀놓고 말씀을 하셨다. “너는 지금부터 인생의 목표를 가지고 살아라. 네 인생의 목표를 네 개인과 세상 성공과 돈을 버는데 맞추면 성공을 할 수 있게될 것이다. 그렇지만 네가 만일 우리 가문을 살리는데 방향을 맞춰서 공부하고 노력한다면 틀림없이 우리 가문이 너를 통해서 일어날 것이다. 그리고 만일 네가 국가를 위해서 네가 할 일을 생각하면서 공부를 한다면 너는 장차 국가를 움직이는 인물이 될 것이다.” 이 분은 그 이야기를 듣고 가만히 생각하면서 결단하기를 나는 국가를 움직이는 인물이 되야겠다 하면서 공부를 했다고 한다. 그래서 자기는 그것을 위해서 철학을 공부했다고 한다. 이 분은 결국은 연세대학교 교수를 하시면서 국가에 큰 정신적 영향을 끼쳤다. 저는 그 이야기를 들으면서 감사했다. 지금 복음가진 우리는 국가를 넘어서 세계를 위해서 하나님 나라를 위해서 모든 방향을 맞추고 살아가고 있다. 우리는 모든 방향이 세계복음화와 하나님 나라를 위해서 방향을 맞추고 기도하고 있다. 한 국가를 살리는 것이 아니라 세계를 살릴 수 있는 메세지를 주시고 인도하시는 것을 생각할 때 정말 감사했다. 우리 렘넌트들은 인생의 방향을 어디로 잡고 있는지 모르겠다. 방향을 분명히 받으시기 바란다. 나는 개인적으로 성공해서 돈을 많이 벌거야 하시가. 나는 미국을 살리는 인물이 될거야 하는가. 아니면 나는 세계를 살리고 세계복음화의 주역이 될거야 하는가. 이것을 정하시고 여기에 놓고 힘써 기도하게되면 하나님께서 반드시 여러분들에게 응답하실 줄로 믿는다. 여러분들은 하나님의 자녀니까 반드시 하나님께서 들어주시고 응답해주실 줄로 믿는다.
1. 승천하신 그리스도
1) 큰 대제사장
지난 시간에는 우리가 마지막 심판이 있게될 것이라고 말씀드렸다. 마지막 심판에 흰 말을 타고 말씀되신 그리스도께서 나타나셔서 선악간의 심판이 있을것이라고 했다. 진노의 포도주가 터지는 것 처럼 비참한 일이 생기게 될 것이라고 했다. 모든 사람의 죄는 벌거벗은 것 처럼 다 드러나게 될 것이라고 말씀드렸다. 그렇게 말씀하시고 난 다음에 오늘 말씀을 하신다.
히 4:14 그러므로 우리에게 큰 대제사장이 계시니 승천하신 이 곧 하나님의 아들 예수시라 우리가 믿는 도리를 굳게 잡을지어다
우리의 큰 대제사장이라고 말씀하셨다. ‘우리의’라는 것은 우리를 위해서 돌아가신, 실제 죽으시고 부활하신 살아계신 하나님이신 그리스도께서 계시다는 것이다. 그리고 그 분은 승천하신 이라고 말씀하신다. 승천하신 이 곧 하나님의 아들 예수시라. 승천하신 이의 원어를 보게되면 그냥 올라가신게 아니라 하늘을 통해서 올라가신 이라고 한다. 유대인들은 하늘은 삼층천이 있다고 이야기한다. 그 첫번째는 우리가 살고있는 대기권의 하늘을 말한다. 두번째는 해와 달과 별이 있는 천체, 온 우주를 둘째 하늘이라고 한다. 세번째 하늘은 하나님이 계신 지극히 높은 곳, 천국을 말한다. 예수님께서 올라가신 곳이 바로 그것이라는 말이다. 행 1:11에 오백여 성도들이 보는 앞에서 예수님께서 구름을 타고 올라가셨다고 이야기한다. 올라가셔서 보이지 않았다고 말한다. 예수님이 어디 가셨는가. 오늘 말씀 나온 것 처럼 하늘 통해서 하나님이 계신 보좌 앞으로 가신 것이다. 그러면서 그 분이 누구냐 곧 하나님의 아들 예수시니라 하고 이야기한다. 이 분은 바로 심판자 되신 그 재판장이라는 것이다. 모든 일을 마치시고 승리하시고 하나님 보좌 우편에 앉으신 만왕의 왕 되신 분이 바로 우리 대제사장이라는 말이다. 얼마나 감사한 일인가. 앞으로 심판주 되신 분이 바로 우리를 위해 돌아가신 그 분이라는 말이다.
2) 믿음의 고백
그래서 오늘 말씀하신다. 우리가 믿는 도리를 굳게 잡을지어다. 너는 이 사실을 굳게 잡으라는 것이다. 믿는 도리라는 것은 믿음의 고백을 나타낸다. 우리의 믿음의 고백은 무엇인가. 바로 베드로가 이야기했던 주는 그리스도시요 살아계신 하나님의 아들이시니이다 하는 고백이다. 믿음의 도리를 굳게 잡을지어다 이야기하고 있다. 확실히 잡으라는 것이다. 오직 그리스도가 되도록 하라는 것이다. 그리스도가 왜 그렇게 중요한가.
벧후 1:11 이같이 하면 우리 주 곧 구주 예수 그리스도의 영원한 나라에 들어감을 넉넉히 너희에게 주시리라
믿음의 고백을 하게되면 영원한 나라에 들어감을 넉넉히 너희에게 주시겠다는 것이다. 확실한 구원이 이루어질 것이라는 말이다. 왜냐하면 그는 우리의 참선지자이기 때문이다. 심판자가 바로 우리의 참 선지자시라는 말이다. 그러면 끝난 것이다. 뿐만 아니다.
롬 8:34 누가 정죄하리요 죽으실 뿐 아니라 다시 살아나신 이는 그리스도 예수시니 그는 하나님 우편에 계신 자요 우리를 위하여 간구하시는 자시니라
이 분은 바로 지금도 우리를 위해서 간구하시는 참 제사장되신 바로 그 분이라는 것이다. 마지막 심판하시는 바로 그 분이 우리의 참 제사장이라는 것이다. 그 심판자가 지금 우리를 위해서 기도해주고 계시는 분이다. 얼마나 감사한가.
딤후 4:18 주께서 나를 모든 악한 일에서 건져내시고 또 그의 천국에 들어가도록 구원하시리니 그에게 영광이 세세무궁토록 있을지어다 아멘
그 분은 지금도 우리를 위해서 나를 악한 일에서 건져내시는 분이다. 악한 일이 무엇인가. 마귀의 일이다. 마귀의 일에서 건져내신 참 왕되신 그리스도이다. 얼마나 감사한가. 심판자가 우리를 괴롭히는 마귀의 일을 멸하시는 그 분이라는 것이다. 어떻게해서 이런 축복을 받았는가. 그 분이 우리 문제를 해결하기 위해서 이 땅에 오셨다. 어떻게 사셨는가. 15절에 나타나있다.
2. 시험받으신 대제사장
1) 지극한 사랑
히 4:15 우리에게 있는 대제사장은 우리의 연약함을 동정하지 못하실 이가 아니요 모든 일에 우리와 똑같이 시험을 받으신 이로되 죄는 없으시니라
그 분은 우리의 연약함을 동정하시는 분이라는 말이다. 우리 연약함을 이해하시는 분이다. 또 우리를 불쌍히 여기시는 분이다. 우리를 극진하게 사랑하시는 분이다. 예수님께서는 이 땅에 오셔서 참 많은 사랑을 우리에게 보여주셨다.
눅 19:41-42 가까이 오사 성을 보시고 우시며 이르시되 너도 오늘 평화에 관한 일을 알았더라면 좋을 뻔하였거니와 지금 네 눈에 숨겨졌도다
예루살렘 성을 바라보시면서 깨닫지 못하는 유대인을 향해 눈물을 흘리면서 우셨다. 그정도로 우리 인간을 사랑하신 분이 예수님이다. 뿐만 아니다. 15절 마지막에 우리와 똑같이 시험을 받으신 이로되 죄는 없으시니라 한다. 예수님은 우리하고 똑같은 시험을 받으셨다. 예수님께서 너무나 가난하게 태어났던 것을 우리는 알고있다. 방에서도 태어나지 못하고 마굿간에서 태어나셨다. 뿐만 아니라 누구도 알지 못하는 외로움 속에서 사셨다. 또 예수님은 머리 둘 곳이 없다고 하셨다. 제대로 쉴데도 찾지 못하셨다. 뿐만 아니라 자기 열두 제자 가운데 한 명이 자신을 배반했다. 자기가 잡히니까 사랑하는 제자들이 다 도망갔다. 뿐만 아니라 예수님께서는 이 땅에 사시면서 마귀의 시험도 똑같이 받으셨다. 그의 죽음은 어땠는가. 인간이 받을 수 있는 최고의 저주인 십자가에 못박혀 돌아가셨다. 예수님은 인간이 당할 수 있는 모든 고통과 어려움을 손수 다 당하셨다. 그런데 딱 한가지 틀리다. 죄는 없으시니라. 예수님이 죄가 없다는 것이 왜 중요한가. 예수님께서 죄가 없으시기 때문이 우리를 대속하실 수 있었다.
2) 대속의 축복
롬 3:23 모든 사람이 죄를 범하였으매 하나님의 영광에 이르지 못하더니
죄가 있는 사람들은 하나님 영광 앞에 감히 나타날 수가 없는 것이다. 예수님이 우리의 죄를 짊어지시고 하나님 앞에 나갈 때 본인의 죄가 없으셨기 때문에 담대히 나가실 수 있었던 것이다.
롬 3:25 이 예수를 하나님이 그의 피로써 믿음으로 말미암는 화목제물로 세우셨으니—
죄 없으신 예수님께서 화목제물로 돌아가셨다. 예수님은 제사장이시면서 직접 희생제물이 되셨다. 왜 예수님께서 직접 돌아가셔야 하는가. 이것은 사 53:6의 성취를 나타내고 있다.
사 53:6 우리는 다 양 같아서 그릇 행하여 각기 제 길로 갔거늘 여호와께서는 우리 모두의 죄악을 그에게 담당시키셨도다
그 예수님은 참 제사장이시다. 그 이전에 있던 모든 제사장들은 자기 자신이 죽지 않았었다. 인간을 위해서 죽을 수가 없으셨다. 예수님께서는 직접 희생제물이 되셨다. 그래서 예수님은 참 제사장이 되시는 것이다. 예수님께서 직접 죽으셔야하는 이유가 또 무엇인가.
롬 6:4 그러므로 우리가 그의 죽으심과 합하여 세례를 받음으로 그와 함께 장사되었나니 이는 아버지의 영광으로 말미암아 그리스도를 죽은 자 가운데서 살리심과 같이 우리로 또한 새생명 가운데서 행하게 하려 함이라
우리가 믿으면 세례를 받게되는데 옛날에는 세례 받는 것을 영접으로 생각했었다. 예수님을 그리스도로 믿고 영접하는 자, 세례를 받는 우리는 예수님의 죽으심과 같이 죽는 것이라고 이야기하는 것이다. 지난 시간에 말씀드렸습니다만 예수님의 영접하는 순간에 우리 과거 모든 옛 사람은 죽어버린다. 완전히 십자가에 그리스도와 함께 죽어버린다. 그리고 죽은 자 가운데서 살리심과 같이 새생명 가운데서 살아나게 하신다는 것이다. 우리가 완전히 죽기 때문에 살게되는 것이다. 우리의 과거, 운명, 사주팔자가 완전히 죽었기 때문에 새생명을 얻게되는 것이다. 왜 그런가. 예수님께서 부활하셨기 때문에 그 속에 있는 우리도 부활하는 것이다. 예수님과 함께 죽고 사는 비밀이 무엇인가.
골 3:3 이는 너희가 죽었고 너희 생명이 그리스도와 함께 하나님 안에 감추어졌음이라
우리가 그리스도와 함께 죽었다. 우리는 그리스도와 함께 죽었을 뿐 아니라 하나님 속에 감추어졌다. 우리 과거 완전히 죽어서 그리스도 품 속에 들어갔을 뿐 아니라 하나님 품 속에 들어가버렸다. 엄청난 비밀이다. 마귀가 와서 죄를 지적한다 하더라도 우리는 이미 그리스도 안에 감추어져있고 하나님 안에 감추어져있는 존재이다. 우리는 누구도 찾을 수 없는 하나님 품 속에 있는 자들이다. 저와 여러분들의 상태이다. 이것이 또 무엇을 이야기하는가.
엡 2:6 또 함께 일으키사 그리스도 예수 안에서 함께 하늘에 앉히시니
우리가 그리스도와 함께 하나님 안에 감추어져있는 우리가 예수님께서 일어나심으로 함께 일어나고 예수님께서 보좌앞으로 가실때 함께 간다는 것이다. 예수님과 우리는 한 몸이 된 것이다. 예수님이 보좌 우편에 앉으신 것을 우리도 함께 앉은 것이다. 여러분과 저는 지금 현재 보좌의 축복을 누리고 있는 줄로 믿는다. 말씀으로 함께하고 예배를 통해서 함께하는 축복을 누리고 있다. 여기서 우리는 이번에 대학수련회에서 받은 언약을 잡아야겠다.
3. 하나님을 본 자들
1) 미리 보기
우리는 가진 축복이 너무나 중요하다. 우리는 이미 그리스도와 함께 하나님 품 속에 들어가있다. 그러면 우리에게 생기는 그 어떤 문제라고 하더라도 답은 다 있는 것이다. 그 답을 우리가 다 갖고있는 것이다. 이것을 누리시기 바란다. 이것을 잡게되면 어떤 문제라도 걱정할 것이 없다. 이번에 말씀에 있었다. 이스라엘 백성들이 가나안 갈 것은 분명한 하나님의 언약이었다. 말씀을 통해서 미리 볼 수 있는 것이다. 그러므로 요단은 건너가게 되어있었다. 하나님의 절대계획대로 가게 되어있는 것이다. 그러면 이스라엘 백성들이 가진 것이 무엇인가. 하나님의 명령에 순종하는 것 밖에 없었다. 하나님이 조건을 내셨다. 언약궤를 앞세워라. 언약궤를 따라가면 된다는 것이다. 우리가 여기서 언약을 붙잡아야겠다. 세계복음화는 되어질 수 밖에 없다. 이것은 절대언약이다. 그러므로 이것은 반드시 이루어진다. 이 언약을 이루가나가는데 어려가지 문제가 생길 수 있다. 그러나 그것은 문제가 아니라는 것이다. 우리는 이미 답을 갖고있으니까.
히 4:16 그러므로 우리는 긍휼하심을 받고 때를 따라 돕는 은혜를 얻기 위하여 은혜의 보좌 앞에 담대히 나아갈 것이니라
우리는 긍휼하심을 받고있다. 그런데 우리는 수시로 넘어진다. 넘어져도 상관 없다는 것이다. 우리는 이미 엄청난 신분을 갖고있다. 보좌의 축복 속에 있다. 그러면 우리가 해야할 것은 구약에서 언약궤를 따랐던 것 처럼 말씀을 잡는 것이다. 이 말씀을 잡으면 때를 따라 돕는 은혜가 있다는 것이다. 하나님의 보좌의 축복을 누리고 있는 우리는 이 때를 따라 돕는 은혜 가운데 있다. 그러므로 우리가 말씀을 잡는 순간에 모든 문이 열리게 될 것이다. 말씀 가운데 우리 미래가 열릴 줄로 믿는다. 미래가 보이게되면 우리는 자연적으로 미래를 체험할 수 있다.
2) 미리 체험
미리 체험에서 가장 중요한 것은 언약의 흐름을 분명히 잡는 것이다. 지금 우리 강단을 통해서 주는 메세지도 흐름을 통해서 주시는 것을 볼 수 있다. 항상 언약의 흐름을 우리가 봐야겠다. 이스라엘 백성들은 홍해를 건넜다. 그런데 그것으로 끝나지 않았다. 홍해를 건넌 사람들은 마땅히 요단을 건너게 되어있다. 믿음이 있는 사람들은 요단을 확실히 건널 것을 알고 있는 것이다. 여호수아와 갈렙 같은 사람들은 그것을 이미 누리고 있는 것이다. 이것을 누리는 자는 미리 주시는 축복을 받게된다. 여기서 또 계속 주시는 말씀이 있다. 언약궤를 따라가라는 것이다. 요단강을 건넌 사람들에게도 또 언약궤를 따라가라는 것이다. 여리고성을 돌라고 했다. 언약궤를 앞세워 계속 돌라고 했다. 무슨 이야기인가. 기도를 하라는 것이다. 기도를 체험하라는 것이다. 기도를 통해서 여리고가 무너지게 될 것이라는 것이다. 이스라엘 백성들은 싸움을 전혀 하지도 않고 기도를 통해서 여리고를 무너드렸다. 여기서 꼭 잡을 것이 있다. 여리고가 무너지는 것으로 끝나지 말고 그 뒤에가 더 중요하다. 여리고가 무너졌으면 가나안 7족속 서른 한 왕이 공격해 올 것이다. 그런데 아무리 많은 왕이 달려든다고 하더라도 이미 이긴 것이다. 미리 체험하게 되는 것이다. 하나님 안에 있는 사람들은 미리 일어날 것을 알고있는 것이다.
수 3:4 그러나 너희와 그 사이 거리가 이천 규빗쯤 되게 하고 그것에 가까이 하지는 말라 그리하면 너희가 행할 길을 알리니 너희가 이전에 이 길을 지나보지 못하였음이니라 하니라
지금 언약궤를 따라가고 말씀을 따라가는데 너희가 행할 길을 알리가고 이야기한다. 놀라운 말씀은 너희가 이전에 이 길을 지나보지 못했다는 것이다. 앞으로 한 번도 가보지 못한 길을 가게될 것이라는 말이다. 말씀을 통해서 이루어질 것이라는 것이다. 가보지 않은 길을 간다는 것이 무슨 말씀인가. 말씀 잡고 가는 자에게는 계속 새로운 문이 열린다는 것이다. 가는 곳곳마다 정복의 역사가 일어나서 새로운 길로 가게된다는 것이다. 계속적인 승리의 문이 열린다는 것이다. 그래서 오늘 말씀에 은혜를 얻기 위하여 은혜의 보좌 앞에 담대히 나아갈 것이니라 하고 이야기한다. 말씀을 붙들으라는 것이다. 하나님께서 주신 말씀, 강단 말씀을 붙잡으라는 것이다. 그러면 이전에 경험하지 못한 신비한 체험들을 미리 할 것이라는 말이다. 그러므로 항상 은혜의 보좌 앞에 큰 은혜받는 여러분 되시기 바란다. 우리가 꼭 잡아야할 언약이다.
행 1:8 오직 성령이 너희에게 임하시면 너희가 권능을 받고 예루살렘과 온 유대와 사마리아와 땅 끝까지 이르러 내 증인이 되리라 하시니라
저와 여러분들의 꿈은 땅 끝까지 이르러 복음의 증인이 되는 것이다. 이 꿈을 가지고 계속 기도하게 되면 하나님께서 237나라의 전도의 문을 열어주실 줄로 믿는다. 승리하시기 바란다.
결론
막 16:19-20 주 예수께서 말씀을 마치신 후에 하늘로 올리우사 하나님 우편에 앉으시니라. 20 제자들이 나가 두루 전파할쌔 주께서 함께 역사하사 그 따르는 표적으로 말씀을 확실히 증거하시니라
하나님 보좌의 축복을 누리는 여러분께서 말씀을 잡고 가는 순간에는 모든 문이 열리게 된다. 지금 우리와 함께하시는 주님께서 친히 역사하신다. 말씀을 확실히 증거하시니라. 이번 메세지를 통해서 컨텐츠를 잡으라고 말씀하셨다. 업에 대한 컨텐츠를 잡으시기 바란다. 현장 컨텐츠를 잡으시기 바란다. 세계복음화는 여러분들 개인을 위해서 모든 것이 이루어질 줄로 믿는다. 승리하시는 여러분 되시기를 예수님 이름으로 축원한다.
