Samuel's Faith that Was Used by God (1 Samuel 1:11-18)

“11 Then she made a vow and said, 'O Lord of hosts, if You will indeed look on the affliction of Your maidservant and remember me, and not forget Your maidservant, but will give Your maidservant a male child, then I will give him to the Lord all the days of his life, and no razor shall come upon his head.' 12 And it happened, as she continued praying before the Lord, that Eli watched her mouth. 13 Now Hannah spoke in her heart; only her lips moved, but her voice was not heard. Therefore Eli thought she was drunk. 14 So Eli said to her, 'How long will you be drunk? Put your wine away from you!' 15 But Hannah answered and said, 'No, my lord, I am a woman of sorrowful spirit. I have drunk neither wine nor intoxicating drink, but have poured out my soul before the Lord. 16 Do not consider your maidservant a wicked woman, for out of the abundance of my complaint and grief I have spoken until now.' 17 Then Eli answered and said, 'Go in peace, and the God of Israel grant your petition which you have asked of Him.' 18 And she said, 'Let your maidservant find favor in your sight.' So the woman went her way and ate, and her face was no longer sad.”
Introduction
There was a story that I heard during the headquarters 1st service sermon. There was someone who was suffering from mental problems that a pastor was visiting regularly but thankfully, she was a believer. She also knew how to obey to God’s word, and it was hard for the pastor to continue to visit this mental patient on a regular basis, so he gave this patient Bible verses regarding healing to read. When he gave the mental patient the Bible verses regarding healing, he told her to memorize all these Bible verses. Later, the person came to the pastor completely healed of her mental problems. When the pastor saw this, the pastor who gave her the word regarding healing was so taken aback. He thought to himself that all she did was read the Bible, but she was completely healed. He realized deeply that he, himself didn’t really believe in God’s word and lacked faith. He realized that he had no assurance of God’s word. He made sure to pray with assurance of the word of God and to relay the word with this assurance. When you look at this, he received many answers after this. What do you think of this? Do you truly believe in God's word? Do you truly believe in the word of God that is recorded in the Bible and believe that the word of God will be fulfilled exactly as it is written? The word that is spoken in the pulpit, do you truly believe that the word of the pulpit will absolutely be fulfilled? From this, it will determine if answers or miracles will come to you or not. From today Biblical passage, we will review the birth of Samuel. In order to know Samuel, we need to go over the birth of Samuel and the historical circumstances regarding his birth.
1. Samuel's Birth
1) The historical situation at the time
In order to know this, you must read over Judges 19:22 “As they were enjoying themselves, suddenly certain men of the city, perverted men, surrounded the house and beat on the door. They spoke to the master of the house, the old man, saying, 'Bring out the man who came to your house, that we may know him carnally!' ” - When you look at this, you can see how distant the faith of the believers became from God. The man was having dinner with a woman in her house, but homosexual men came to her house demanding that the man come out. You can see that during this time, homosexuality was rampant. This state was written in the book of Judges, and it showed how much sin was there as much. The age became so sinful that the sin was as much as it was in during Sodom and Gomorrah. This was almost the same world that Samuel was born into and living in. Then, what about the state of the church during that time?
If you look in 1 Samuel 2:15, 3:1 “Also, before they burned the fat, the priest’s servant would come and say to the man who sacrificed, 'Give meat for roasting to the priest, for he will not take boiled meat from you, but raw.' 3:1 Now the boy Samuel ministered to the Lord before Eli. And the word of the Lord was rare in those days; there was no widespread revelation. ” - The people were demanding the priest to give them the fat that was given as a sacrifice to God. When they gave blood sacrifices to God, they would light the fire with oil but they were demanding the priest to give them the oil and fat that was used to burn the meat. In other words, they were demanding the sacrifices and offerings that were given to God. You can see that complete forces of darkness were covering over the worship services and churches during that time. During that age, that was when Samuel was born.
Not only that but in 1 Samuel 3:1 - It said that the word of God and revelation were rare as well. Eli was supposed to be the meditator between God and the people of God, but he failed to do so. This was the state that Samuel grew up in.
2) Hannah's prayer of vow
1 Samuel 1:6, 11, 16, 27-28 “6 And her rival also provoked her severely, to make her miserable, because the Lord had closed her womb. 27 For this child I prayed, and the Lord has granted me my petition which I asked of Him. 28 Therefore I also have lent him to the Lord; as long as he lives he shall be lent to the Lord. So they worshiped the Lord there.” - In order to solve this problem, God prevented one woman from giving brith and made her barren. That woman was Hannah. During this pitiful and corrupted state of Israel, in order to solve and heal this age, God made one woman, Hannah, barren and made her enter into a state of prayer. If you just stay still, you won’t pray so God made things difficult for Hannah so that she can pray. When God gives us problems, we have to know that it is all part of God’s grace and God's way of telling us to pray.
Finally, Hannah starts praying in 1 Samuel 1:6, 11, 15. She prayed earnestly for a child and when Eli saw Hannah praying, he thought that she was drunk. But Hannah clarifies to Eli that she was not drunk but praying fervently to God. When Hannah was praying to God, Hannah was not praying for God to grant her a child to heal this age but to end her suffering of her being barren. For Hannah, she was only focused on having a child but this was the prayer that God wanted to hear. God poured His grace upon Hannah and allowed her to bear a child, Samuel. Hannah gave thanksgiving to God and took her child before Eli.
She says in 1 Samuel 1:27-28 - When she first prayed to God, there was no recordings that she promised God to serve the church but after she heard God’s voice and received her answers, she became devoted and resolved to give her child to the church. How did Hannah come to this resolution? She was able to experience through this answer that God was truly alive. That is why she resolved to entrust and give her child to God completely. When God saw Hannah’s faith, He accepted it and gave her tremendous blessings.
2. Amazing Answers of Hannah's Faith
1) The blessing of the three offices given to Samuel
1 Samuel 2:35, 3:20, 7:15-16 “Then I will raise up for Myself a faithful priest who shall do according to what is in My heart and in My mind. I will build him a sure house, and he shall walk before My anointed forever. 3:20 And all Israel from Dan to Beersheba knew that Samuel had been established as a prophet of the Lord. 7:16 He went from year to year on a circuit to Bethel, Gilgal, and Mizpah, and judged Israel in all those places.” - God was going to raise Samuel as a priest. Samuel was not a Levite and was part of Abraham’s lineage so he couldn’t be a priest but God commanded and raised Samuel as a priest.
Not only that but in 1 Samuel 3:20 - God raised Samuel as a prophet as well. Also in 1 Samuel 7:15-16 - He was given the authority as a judge as well as had tremendous power like a king over his land. When Hannah entrusted and gave everything to God, Samuel received tremendous blessings as a result. He received the blessings of the three offices of the anointed one. We can see that God blessed Samuel’s lief. To what extent?
2) The blessing of the anointed
1 Samuel 3:3, 12:12, 3:19 “And before the lamp of God went out in the tabernacle of the Lord where the ark of God was, and while Samuel was lying down. 3:19 So Samuel grew, and the Lord was with him and let none of his words fall to the ground. 12:12 And when you saw that Nahash king of the Ammonites came against you, you said to me, ‘No, but a king shall reign over us,’ when the Lord your God was your king.” - The entire world was in darkness but the lamp of God did not go out, which means the power of the Holy Spirit was still shining. When Samuel was with the ark of the covenant 24 hours, he received the blessings from the covenant 24 hours a day.
1 Samuel 12:12 - God blessed Samuel so that he could pray for his nation 24 hours a day.
1 Samuel 3:19 - Samuel constantly spoke about the word of God but when he spoke of the word of God, it was constantly fulfilled in the field. Who was Samuel? He was not a Levite but part of Abraham’s lineage but received God’s blessings of the three offices of anointment. In other words, the blessings that God gave to Samuel of the three offices was not only given to him but God also has given it to us, His people of God. When we go out to the field to share the gospel, we need to enjoy the three offices of the anointment. How should we live our lives with the blessings of the three offices? We need to look at the life of Samuel and the life of healing that he experienced in his life.
3. God's Historical Healing
1) The evidence of the anointed
1 Samuel 7:6, 8-9, 10, 14-15, 16:13 “So they gathered together at Mizpah, drew water, and poured it out before the Lord. And they fasted that day, and said there, “We have sinned against the Lord.” And Samuel judged the children of Israel at Mizpah. 8 So the children of Israel said to Samuel, 'Do not cease to cry out to the Lord our God for us, that He may save us from the hand of the Philistines.' 9 And Samuel took a suckling lamb and offered it as a whole burnt offering to the Lord. Then Samuel cried out to the Lord for Israel, and the Lord answered him. 10 Now as Samuel was offering up the burnt offering, the Philistines drew near to battle against Israel. But the Lord thundered with a loud thunder upon the Philistines that day, and so confused them that they were overcome before Israel. 14 Then the cities which the Philistines had taken from Israel were restored to Israel, from Ekron to Gath; and Israel recovered its territory from the hands of the Philistines. Also there was peace between Israel and the Amorites. 15 And Samuel judged Israel all the days of his life. 16:13 Then Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the midst of his brothers; and the Spirit of the Lord came upon David from that day forward. So Samuel arose and went to Ramah.” - They poured water before the Lord, means that they were repenting before God. All of the Israelites were gathering in Mizpah and were crying out to God, repenting before God. Everyone gathered there and the blessing of healing came upon the Israelites. Not only that but when they were praying, the Philistines were invading them in 1 Samuel 7:8-9 - Something that never happened for the Israelites, occurred. Before, the Israelites would complain and grumble when they were being invaded and wanted to be left alone with the Philistines, and they weren’t crying out to God and repenting. But now, they were crying out to God and repenting before God as the Philistines were invading them.
1 Samuel 7:9 - The Philistine army invaded them and instead of grabbing weapons, Samuel came before God and gave a blood sacrifice while crying out to God. It was astounding and through this, we can see that God answered. When problems come to us, Samuel was showing us how we can receive answers correctly. When the people repented before God, faith came upon them and it was restored, and they requested Samuel to pray for them. When Samuel prayed to God, the throne of God came upon him and the Israelites.
1 Samuel 7:10 - It was an astounding event. Samuel was giving a burnt sacrifice to God and prayed to God. When God heard his prayers, he opened the doors of heaven and cause a loud thunder to come down from heaven. When this happened, the Philistines could not defeat Israel and Israelites became undefeatable. This is the answer that we have received. This all happened with faith.
1 Samuel 7:14-15 - This was astounding. When God protected Israelites form their enemies and destroyed them, peace came upon their land. The light of God came upon the entire world at that time. This all happened when their faith was restored.
But the greatest work that Samuel completed in his lifetime is written in 1 Samuel 16:13 - When you look at the word, Samuel prophesied David to become king and anointed David as king. When you look at the work of Samuel, he was born in a state of corruption but he did the work of restoring God’s covenant. He used the three offices of Christ to restore the entire land of Israel and God’s covenant. For the sake of the future, Samuel anointed David as king. In order to help David reign as king, he anointed David as king and then, he disappeared from the Bible. After Samuel anointed David as king, there are no other words that were spoken regarding Samuel in the Bible. What does this mean? We who are anointed ones, we must raise up the remnants. We must raise up disciples who can save the future. We who are anointed ones, as Christians, there are things that we must do just like God used Samuel. Just like God used Samuel, God will also use us.
2) Those of us who are anointed
Acts 26:18 “To open their eyes, in order to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me.” - In order to save people from darkness and bring the gospel to them. Bring them to the state of repentance and allow them to receive forgiveness of their sins. So that the blessing of God’s salvation and life will come upon them.
Matthew 28:18-19 “And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, 'All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” - Jesus spoke to us to make disciples. What does this mean? It means to go to all nations and raise up disciples and remnants.
The method of how to do this is written in John 20:22-23 “And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them, 'Receive the Holy Spirit. 23 If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained.' ” - Receive the power fo the Holy Spirit and we can experience God’s power. Enjoy this blessing. The gospel that you relay, just like Samuel's works in Mizpah, the same works will arise in our fields.
Conclusion
Mark 16:20 “And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word through the accompanying signs. Amen.” - Why does God keep telling us to preach the gospel. There is God’s plan within this. When Samuel was anointed, he directed the Israelites to the right direction and towards true repentance. When he restored their faith, he anointed David as king and led the next generation. Through Samuel’s work, we can see that work of David’s kingship was established. God has established us and is telling us to go out to the world to share the gospel. Why must we share the gospel? God’s desire is for us to establish God’s eternal kingdom. God wants us to serve Him as king and to establish His enteral kingdom, and to find His disciples. The moment we hold onto this covenant, then the blessings of anointment of the three offices that Samuel enjoyed will come upon us. May we receive this blessing in the name of Jesus Christ.
사무엘이 쓰임 받은 믿음(삼상1:11-18)
서론
1부 시간에 들은 이야기이다. 정신 질환자 한 명이 찾아왔다. 그런데 그 사람은 다행히 하나님을 믿는 사람이었다. 그리고 또 말씀에 순종할 줄 아는 사람이었다. 그래서 계속 찾아오는 것이 힘들어서 그 사람에게 치유에 대한 성경구절을 다 찾아서 적어서 주었다고 한다. 그래서 주면서 이것을 매일 읽고 외우라고 했다. 얼마 안 있다가 이 사람이 찾아왔다. 그 사람이 갖고있던 정신질환이 깨끗하게 치유가 되었다는 것이다. 그것을 보고 말씀을 준 목사님이 더 깜짝 놀랐다. 말씀만 읽었는데 어떻게 이럴 수가 있는가 하면서 깊이 깨달았다고 한다. ‘아 내가 하나님 말씀을 진짜로 믿지 않고 있었구나.’ 그 다음부터는 말씀에 대한 확신을 갖고 전하고 기도했다고 한다. 그 후에는 많은 응답이 나타나기 시작했다. 여러분은 어떠신가. 말씀을 정말 믿으시는가. 성경에 기록한 말씀이 정말로 나에게 능력으로 역사하실 것이라는 확신이 있는가. 이 강단에서 선포된 말씀이 반드시 나에게 성취될 말씀이라고 믿고 받고 계신가? 여기에서 응답을 받느냐 못받느냐, 기적이 일어나느냐 일어나지 않느냐가 결정된다.
1. 사무엘의 출생
1) 당시 시대적 상황
오늘은 사무엘의 출생에 대해서부터 말씀을 드리기 원한다. 먼저 사무엘을 알기 위해서는 출생 당시 시대적 상황을 짚고 넘어가야겠다. 이것을 알기 위해서는 사사기 제일 마지막 나타나는 사건을 찾아보면 알 수 있다. 사사기 시대 마지막을 보게되면 얼마나 이스라엘 백성들이 신앙이 멀어지고 많은 죄악을 짓고 있는지를 말씀을 통해서 찾아볼 수 있다.
삿 19:22 그들이 마음을 즐겁게 할 때에 그 성읍의 불량배들이 그 집을 에워싸고 문을 두들기며 집 주인 노인에게 말하여 이르되 네 집에 들어온 사람을 끌어내라 우리가 그와 관계하리라 하니
레위인이 집에 가다가 잠깐 들려서 노인하고 같이 저녁 식사를 하고 있는데 불량배들이 쫓아와서 금방 어떤 남자가 들어가는 것을 보았는데 그것을 끌어내라는 것이다. 동성애가 말할 수 없이 무리가 몰려와서 그 짓을 하겠다고 온 것이다. 완전히 이 상태가 소돔과 고모라와 같은 상태인 것을 볼 수 있다. 사무엘이 이런 배경 가운데서 태어났다. 그러면 교회는 어떤 상태인가.
삼상 2:15 기름을 태우기 전에도 제사장의 사환이 와서 제사 드리는 사람에게 이르기를 제사장에게 구워 드릴 고기를 내라 그가 네게 삶은 고기를 원하지 아니하고 날 것을 원하신다 하다가
하나님께 제사를 드릴 때는 먼저 기름으로 태워서 향기를 먼저 드리는 것이 제사의 예법인데 그 기름을 강제로 빼앗아가는 것이다. 하나님께 드릴 예물을 제사장들이 하나님께 드리지 않고 자기들이 가로채고 있는 것이다. 완전히 흑암이 사단의 권세가 성전에 예배에 장악을 하고 있는 것을 볼 수 있다. 그 시대에 사무엘이 태어났다. 뿐만 아니다.
삼상 3:1 아이 사무엘이 엘리 앞에서 여호와를 섬길 때에는 여호와의 말씀이 희귀하여 이상이 흔히 보이지 않았더라
영적인 계시가 완전히 끊어진 상태라는 것이다. 당시 영적 지도자가 엘리 제사장인데 그에게 전혀 영적 계시가 나타나지 않았다. 선지자로서 중보자 역할을 감당해야하는데 할 수가 없는 것이다. 이런 상황에서 사무엘이 태어났다.
2) 한나의 서원기도
하나님께서 그 문제를 해결하시기 위해 한 여자에게 임신을 못하도록 역사하셨다. 그 여자가 한나이다.
삼상 1:6 여호와께서 그에게 임신하지 못하게 하시므로 그의 적수인 브닌나가 그를 심히 격분하게 하여 괴롭게 하더라
하나님께서 이 안타까운 시대적인 환경을 해결하시기 위해서 한 여자를 택하셔서 임신하지 못하게 하셔서 부르짖으며 기도하게 만드셨다. 가만히 있으면 기도를 하지 않으니까 고통받게 하면서 기도하도록 만드셨다. 이것을 보게되면 어려움을 당하는 것을 하나님께서 우리를 기도하게 하시기 위한 은혜인 것을 볼 수 있다. 한나는 드디어 기도한다.
삼상 1:11 서원하여 이르되 만군의 여호와여 만일 주의 여종의 고통을 돌보시고 나를 기억하사 주의 여종을 잊지 아니하시고 주의 여종에게 아들을 주시면 내가 그의 평생에 그를 여호와께 드리고 삭도를 그의 머리에 대지 아니하겠나이다
내가 지금 아들이 없어서 이런데 아들을 주시면 아들을 나실인으로 드리겠습니다 하고 서원기도를 했다. 그 기도를 하고 있는데 엘리 제사장이 보니까 술을 먹은 것 같이 보여서 와서 술을 먹지 말라고 한다.
삼상 1:16 당신의 여종을 악한 여자로 여기지 마옵소서 내가 지금까지 말한 것은 나의 원통함과 격분됨이 많기 때문이니이다 하는지라
여기서 중요한 것은 이 한나가 서원기도 할 때에 이 시대 상황을 고칠 수 있는 일꾼을 맡겨주세요 한 것이 아니라 내가 자식이 없어서 분합니다, 자식을 주세요 했다. 나에게 주시면 이 아이를 하나님을 위한 나실인으로 키우겠습니다 했다. 하나님께서는 그 기도를 들으시기를 원하셨다. 하나님께서 은혜를 베풀어주셔서 한나에게 아들을 주신다. 하나님께서 자기 기도에 응답해주신 것을 감사하면서 한나는 자기 아들을 데리고 엘리 제사장에게 간다.
삼상 1:27-28 이 아이를 위하여 내가 기도하였더니 내가 구하여 기도한 바를 여호와께서 내게 허락하신지라 28 그러므로 나도 그를 여호와께 드리되 그의 평생을 여호와께 드리나이다 하고 그가 거기서 여호와께 경배하니라
처음 서원기도할 때는 아예 성전에 드리겠다느 내용은 없었다. 그런데 살아계신 하나님께서 자기의 말을 듣고 응답하신 것을 보고 완전히 하나님께 드리자 결단을 한 것이다. 어떻게 해서 이런 결단이 나오는가. 하나님의 살아계심을 확실하게 체험했던 것이다. 아예 내 아들의 생명을 하나님께 맡깁니다 하고 성전에 드리는 것이다. 하나님께서는 한나의 믿음을 받으시고 놀라운 축복을 베풀어주시는 것을 볼 수 있다.
2. 한나의 믿음에 놀라운 응답
1) 사무엘에게 삼직의 축복
삼상 2:35 내가 나를 위하여 충실한 제사장을 일으키리니 그 사람은 내 마음, 내 뜻대로 행할 것이라 내가 그를 위하여 견고한 집을 세우리니 그가 나의 기름 부음을 받은 자 앞에서 영구히 행하리라
이 사무엘을 제사장으로 삼으시겠다는 것이다. 이 사무엘은 레위 족속이 아니다. 에브라임 족속이다. 제사장이 될 수 없는 족속인데 기뻐하셔서 내가 제사장으로 삼겠다고 하시는 것이다. 뿐만 아니다.
삼상 3:20 단에서부터 브엘세바까지의 온 이스라엘이 사무엘은 여호와의 선지자로 세우심을 입은 줄을 알았더라
하나님께서 사무엘을 선지자로 세우셨다. 그 뿐 아니다.
삼상 7:15-16 사무엘이 사는 날 동안에 이스라엘을 다스렸으되 해마다 벧엘과 길갈과 미스바로 순회하여 그 모든 곳에서 이스라엘을 다스렸고
다스리는 사사, 왕직을 허락해주신 것을 볼 수 있다. 한나가 자기 아들 생명을 완전히 하나님께 맡기고 드려버리니까 하나님께서는 친히 축복을 주시고 키워나가시는 것을 볼 수 있다. 기름부음 받은 자의 축복을 누리게 된다.
2) 기름부음 받은 자의 축복
실질적으로 하나님께서는 그의 삶을 놀랍게 축복해주셨다.
삼상 3:3 하나님의 등불은 아직 꺼지지 아니하였으며 사무엘은 하나님의 궤 있는 여호와의 전 안에 누웠더니
온 세상이 캄캄하고 영적으로 어두운 상태였지만 하나님의 등불이 아직 꺼지지 않았다는 것은 성령께서 아직 역사하고 계시다는 것이다. 언약궤와 같이 있으면서 24시 언약궤의 축복을 누리는 자리에 들어갔다. 뿐만 아니다.
삼상 12:23 나는 너희를 위하여 기도하기를 쉬는 죄를 여호와 앞에 결단코 범치 아니하고 선하고 의로운 도로 너희를 가르칠 것인즉
사무엘이 24시 기도 속에 들어가는 축복을 주셨다. 뿐만 아니다.
삼상 3:19 사무엘이 자라매 여호와께서 그와 함께 계셔서 그의 말이 하나도 땅에 떨어지지 않게 하시니
현장에서 계속적으로 말씀을 증거하는데 말씀이 그대로 응답되는 것이다. 이 사무엘은 레위 족속이 아닌 에브라임 족속으로서 왕, 제사장, 선지자의 직분, 기름부음 받은 자의 축복을 누리고 있는 것이다. 이 축복은 사무엘만 누리는 것이 아니라 그리스도의 기름부음을 받은 우리가 누릴 축복이다. 우리가 세상에 나가서 복음을 증거할 때 기름부음을 받은 종으로서 왕, 제사장, 선지자의 직분을 행하는 우리가 된 줄로 믿는다. 그러면 우리가 기름부음 받은 종으로서 어떻게 살아야할 것인가.
3. 하나님의 시대치유
1) 기름부음받은 자의 증거
사무엘을 통하여 하나님께서 하신 치유를 보면 알 수 있다.
삼상 7:6 그들이 미스바에 모여 물을 길어 여호와 앞에 붓고 그 날 종일 금식하고 거기에서 이르되 우리가 여호와께 범죄하였나이다 하니라 사무엘이 미스바에서 이스라엘 자손을 다스리니라
여기서 물을 길어서 여호와께 부었다는 것은 회개 행위를 했다는 것이다. 온 이스라엘 백성들이 미스바에 모여서 주여 우리가 여호와께 범죄하였습니다 하면서 회개하기 시작한 것이다. 이스라엘이 치유받고 참예한 모든 사람들이 치유받는 역사가 나타나기 시작했다. 그 뿐만이 아니다. 기도할 때 블레셋 군이 쳐들어오기 시작했다. 그
삼상 7:8 이스라엘 자손이 사무엘에게 이르되 당신은 우리를 위하여 우리 하나님 여호와께 쉬지 말고 부르짖어 우리를 블레셋 사람들의 손에서 구원하시게 하소서 하니
옛 날에 없었던 일이 다시 회복되는 것이다. 옛날에는 삼손을 보더라도 블레셋 사람한테 고통을 받아서 우리가 잘 있는데 자꾸만 왜 그러냐고 놔두라고 하면서 말렸다. 그런데 그들에게는 그 때 당시에는 부르짖는 기도가 없어졌다고 나온다. 그런데 이제는 다시 믿음이 회복되서 사무엘에게 우리를 위해 기도를 해달라고 부탁하는 것이다.
삼상 7:9 사무엘이 젖 먹는 어린 양 하나를 가져다가 온전한 번제를 여호와께 드리고 이스라엘을 위하여 여호와께 부르짖으매 여호와께서 응답하셨더라
군대가 쳐들어왔는데 칼 잡아라 한 것이 아니라 사무엘은 하나님께 번제를 드렸다. 그리고 하나님께 부르짖었다. 그러니까 여호와께서 응답하셨다. 우리가 문제를 만났을 때 어떻게 해결해야할 것인가를 보여주는 것이다. 그들이 회개하니까 믿음이 일어났다. 사무엘 사사님 우리를 위해서 기도해달라고 부탁했을 때 사무엘이 기도하니까 보좌의 축복이 나타났다.
삼상 7:10 사무엘이 번제를 드릴 때에 블레셋 사람이 이스라엘과 싸우려고 가까이 오매 그 날에 여호와께서 블레셋 사람에게 큰 우레를 발하여 그들을 어지럽게 하시니 그들이 이스라엘 앞에 패한지라
놀라운 사건이다. 사무엘이 하나님께 번제를 드리는 것이다. 모든 것을 하나님께 의존합니다 하는 것이다. 그러니까 하나님께서 하늘 문을 여시고 우레를 내리셨다. 하나님께서 싸우시니까 블레셋 사람이 이길 수가 없다. 하나님께서 인간이 사는 이 땅에 직접 관여하셔서 역사하셨다. 바로 이것이 시공간을 초월하는 축복의 역사가 아닌가. 믿음을 통해서 나타난 것이다.
삼상 7:13-14 이에 블레셋 사람이 굴복하여 다시는 이스라엘 경내에 들어오지 못하였으며 여호와의 손이 사무엘의 사는 날 동안에 블레셋 사람을 막으시매 블레셋 사람들이 이스라엘에게서 빼앗았던 성읍이 에그론부터 가드까지 이스라엘에게 회복되니 이스라엘이 그 사방 지역을 블레셋 사람들의 손에서 도로 찾았고 또 이스라엘과 아모리 사람 사이에 평화가 있었더라
놀라운 일이 벌어졌다. 그 원수를 하나님께서 막으시니까 그 이방 족속과 평화가 깃드는 것이다. 전 세계에 생명의 빛이 임했다. 믿음이 회복되니까 모든 것이 회복된 것이다. 사무엘이 행한 중 가장 중요한 사역이 삼상 16:13에 나온다.
삼상 16:13 사무엘이 기름 뿔병을 가져다가 그의 형제 중에서 그에게 부었더니 이 날 이후로 다윗이 여호와의 영에게 크게 감동되니라 사무엘이 떠나서 라마로 가니라
말씀을 보면 사무엘이 다윗에게 왕이 될 것을 예언하면서 기름을 붓는 사건이 나타난다. 사무엘의 사역을 보게되면 사사시대에 그처럼 타락하고 부패되서 잃었던 모든 신앙을 완전히 회복하는 것을 볼 수 있다. 사무엘을 통해서 삼직을 완전히 회복하셨다. 미래를 위해서 다윗에게 기름을 부으면서 왕을 세우셨다. 다윗 왕국을 세울 수 있도록 모든 기초를 마련하고 사무엘은 사라졌다. 이 사무엘은 다윗에게 기름을 붓고 나서 더이상 기록이 나타나지 않는다. 이것은 무엇을 나타내는가. 기름 부음 받은 우리는 렘넌트들 반드시 키워야한다는 것이다. 미래를 살릴 수 있는 절대 제자를 키워야한다는 것이다. 그럼 기름부음 받은 우리가 해야할 것이 무엇인가.
2) 기름부음 받은 우리
하나님께서 사무엘을 사용하신 것 처럼 우리를 같은 방법으로 사용하신다.
행 26:18 그 눈을 뜨게 하여 어두움에서 빛으로, 사단의 권세에서 하나님께로 돌아가게 하고 죄 사함과 나를 믿어 거룩케 된 무리 가운데서 기업을 얻게 하리라 하더이다
흑암에 빠진 자들에게 복음을 전해서 살려내라는 것이다. 회개 운동을 일으켜서 죄 용서함을 받게 하라는 것이다. 그로 하여금 하나님의 놀라운 영적축복을 누리는 삶을 살게 하라는 것이다.
마 28:18-19 예수께서 나아와 말씀하여 이르시되 하늘과 땅의 모든 권세를 내게 주셨으니 19 그러므로 너희는 가서 모든 민족을 제자로 삼아 아버지와 아들과 성령의 이름으로 세례를 베풀고
예수님이 말씀하시기를 너희는 모든 족속에게 가서 제자를 삼으라고 하셨다. 무슨 말씀인가. 렘넌트를 키우라는 말이다. 그 방법이 나타난다.
요 20:22-23 이 말씀을 하시고 그들을 향하사 숨을 내쉬며 이르시되 성령을 받으라 23 너희가 누구의 죄든지 사하면 사하여질 것이요 누구의 죄든지 그대로 두면 그대로 있으리라 하시니라
성령 충만함을 받으라, 하나님의 영이 너희들과 함께 하셔서 생명 구원의 놀라운 역사를 이루게 하실 것이라는 것이다. 여러분들이 전하는 복음을 통해서 사무엘이 미스바 운동을 통해서 일으켰던 역사가 나타날 줄로 믿는다.
결론
막 16:20 제자들이 나가 두루 전파할새 주께서 함께 역사하사 그 따르는 표적으로 말씀을 확실히 증언하시니라
우리보고 왜 자꾸만 복음을 전하라고 하시는가. 하나님의 계획이 있기 때문이다. 사무엘이 삼직을 받아서 이스라엘 백성들을 회개시키고 올바른 신앙으로 이끌어냈다. 믿음을 세우고 난 다음에 마지막으로 다윗을 왕으로 세우면서 후대로 세웠다. 사무엘의 사역의 결과로 다윗 왕국이 견고하게 일어났다. 예수님께서 십자가에서 승리하시고 세계복음화를 위해서 나가라고 하셨다. 왜 우리가 복음 전하는가. 바로 영원한 하나님 나라를 세우는 것이 하나님의 소원이기 때문이다. 만왕의 왕되신 우리 주님을 왕으로 모시면서 하나님 나라를 세우기 위해서 가서 제자를 찾으라는 것이다. 우리가 이 언약을 잡는 순간에 사무엘이 누렸던 축복의 역사가 나의 것이 될 줄로 믿는다.
