The Blessing of the Throne (Ephesians 1:4-5)
Rev. Myung-Sin Choi
“Just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, 5 having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will.”
Introduction
We are doing the 393 prayer. Are you praying? Do you feel any change after praying with the prayer of the heavenly throne? At this time, what I am realistically enjoying is the content of prayer. I want to share this with you all. I want to share what may be different with what you are doing and compare it with what I am going to tell you today. May you apply that with your prayer routine. When you are praying this prayer, your heart may feel warm and you may feel peace. When you feel that, you can feel that the Holy Spirit is with you. When you do that, you can see that God is waiting for you to have that time. With that, it will bring you joy because you are praying with assurance that God is answering your prayers. I will share a short version of the main points. It may be good to look at the 393 prayer and refer to that. If you memorized it, then it is good to recite them. I have memorized most of the Bible verses.
Ephesians 1:4-5 - When you memorize this Bible verse, the first thought that you should have is thanksgiving that God has chosen and saved you before creation. Before creation, God has saved you, then with this fact, everything is finished. God created and saved you so that we can be blameless before Him in love. In order to make us righteous and blameless, God saved us so therefore we must live a blameless and righteous life. That is why I pray to God, “God, you saved me to be blameless and righteous so help me with the power of the Holy Spirt to live a life in holiness and without blame.” Pray that the Holy Spirit can help you to have holy and righteous thoughts. With God’s will, this was done. When God prepared me, God prepared and created me with great joy. God has created and allowed you to be at worship service today before creation and it was predestined. This is how happy God is, I am able to feel God’s great joy. By Jesus Christ, we have been made into God’s children. In order to become a child of God, God has given Jesus Christ to die on the cross and I am thankful for this. This is a very thanksgiving Biblical scripture; before creation, God has already prepared us to be His children. Today’s sermon talked about what hell is but we no longer have anything to do with hell.
2 Corinthians 13:13 “All the saints greet you.” - With God’s grace, God has saved us from the power of hell and Satan by having Jesus Christ come to Earth in human flesh. We can be thankful for this. God’s love, God sent us Jesus Christ who was in His bosom and allowed Jesus to die so that we can become children of God. This shows the great love of God, for this, we should give thanksgiving. God has given His one and only Son to me who is just a mere creation of God and with this, I pray this prayer of thanksgiving. This is something that should be impossible. The impossible has become possible for us. In order to make us a child of God, God sent His true Son to die for us; this doesn’t make any sense at all. This shows how precious we are to God. We should be thankful. The fellowship of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit always guides, indwells, and protects us. With this, we should be thankful to the Triune God.
The Heavenly Throne - The Event of the Throne
Genesis 28:12 “Then he dreamed, and behold, a ladder was set up on the earth, and its top reached to heaven; and there the angels of God were ascending and descending on it.” - When Jacob was running away from Esau, he was praying to God and fell asleep under a broom tree and God gave this dream to Jacob. From here, we can see that the angels of God were ascending and descending from heaven to earth on this ladder, this means that the angels took every prayer of Jacob to God. This shows that every word that we pray, it is all taken to God. We should be thankful. Every prayer that we pray to God, God listens to all of this. We should be assured of this. We should be confident of this. God has heard us so He will answer us.
Genesis 28:15 “Behold, I am with you and will keep you wherever you go, and will bring you back to this land; for I will not leave you until I have done what I have spoken to you.” - When God answers us, God promised that He will never leave us until He answers and fulfills His promises to us. I hold onto this with great thanksgiving. For every one of us, there is a promise that God has promised us. Until God fulfills that promise, God will never leave us. That plan will absolutely be fulfilled. This is the same for all of us. When God called Paul in the beginning, his mission was the same. God called Paul to go to Rome and this covenant for Paul never changed. This was the same for Jacob. This is the same for us. God gave you a talent and mission, until He fulfills that God will never leave us. There is no need for us to be afraid of death or anything. This is because if we hold onto God’s covenant, God will absolutely fulfill it.
Matthew 18:10 “Take heed that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I say to you that in heaven their angels always see the face of My Father who is in heaven.” - Hold onto this message. There may be people who may be lacking and despicable but we must not despise or hold a grudge against them. If we hold onto any grudge against people, then God will do the same thing that God did to King Belshazzar to us. We must be humble at all times. God knows everyone’s situations. This is because angels are reporting everything to God. Even things that we go through and when we cry when something unfairly happens to us, God hears and knows it all. God knows our hearts too. Our hardship and tribulations, God hears it all and will answer to them. Then, there is no need for us to worry. God knows everything and He is with us. Just pray for God to be with us and give us strength.
Hebrews 1:14 “Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation?” - The angels took all of Jacob’s prayers to God and God heard all of Jacob’s prayers, this is also the same thing for us too. When we face a problem, an angel is with us, we must hold onto this fact. We have a mission of God, God will never leave us alone. We must take hold of this.
Revelation 7:11-12 “All the angels stood around the throne and the elders and the four living creatures, and fell on their faces before the throne and worshiped God, 12 saying: 'Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom, thanksgiving and honor and power and might, be to our God forever and ever. Amen.' ” - When we give worship to God, God gives us authority and strength so that we can worship Him. When we give worship to God, angels take our worship to God and God blesses us abundantly and accordingly. When I worship, I worship with this heart and while remembering this Bible verse. Everything that we are thinking, it goes all to God.
Transcending Time and Space
Psalms 103:20-21 “Bless the Lord, you His angels, Who excel in strength, who do His word, Heeding the voice of His word. 21 Bless the Lord, all you His hosts, You ministers of His, who do His pleasure.” - We should be so thankful. The moment we take hold of God’s word, God will use His angels to do His bidding. When we hold on to the word of God, God takes our prayer and uses His angels to do His bidding. When we pray with the word of God and when we pray for someone who is sick, works will absolutely arise. This is not just words that I am saying, this took place in the Old Testament. You need to experience this prayer. When you pray and believe, then works will arise.
Exodus 14:19-20 “And the Angel of God, who went before the camp of Israel, moved and went behind them; and the pillar of cloud went from before them and stood behind them. 20 So it came between the camp of the Egyptians and the camp of Israel. Thus it was a cloud and darkness to the one, and it gave light by night to the other, so that the one did not come near the other all that night.” - When you face a hardship and trouble, angels will absolutely protect and keep you. As I told you about the Korean man who got shot and murdered during the pulpit message, when we hold onto the covenant of God then God will protect and will send us angels to block trouble. God will make sure that no one dares to touch or hurt us. When the Israelites were going through the Red Sea and the Egyptians were coming after them, God was protecting the Israelites. God has given us a mission and we are holding onto the covenant, God is protecting us no matter what. God will make sure that we never fall into hardship.
Daniel 3:25 “ 'Look!' he answered, 'I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire; and they are not hurt, and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.' ” - The 3 friends of Daniel. When we live our lives, we may face trials like fire. We may fall into fire but at that time, God will protect you with His angels. There is no need to worry. If we perish, we perish. God will absolutely protect you. God is looking for this. Even before death, we don’t have to fear.
Revelation 8:4-5 “And the smoke of the incense, with the prayers of the saints, ascended before God from the angel’s hand. 5 Then the angel took the censer, filled it with fire from the altar, and threw it to the earth. And there were noises, thunderings, lightnings, and an earthquake.” - When we pray, if we face a hardship or tribulation, God will send us His angels and cause thunder, noises, and earthquakes for us. Do you believe in this? This will take place. You need to believe in the Bible. This is the spiritual world and works that takes place for believers. I always believe in this.
2 King 19:35 “And it came to pass on a certain night that the angel of the Lord went out, and killed in the camp of the Assyrians one hundred and eighty-five thousand; and when people arose early in the morning, there were the corpses—all dead.” - King Hezekiah was facing a hardship so he prayed to God in the temple. At that time, God got rid of 185,000 Assyrian soldiers for King Hezekiah. This show how precious God sees our prayers are to Him. God waits for our prayers 24 hours day, that is why it is so important for us to pray to Him. God gives us problems so that we can pray to Him.
Light of Life to 237 Nations
What must we do now? Isaiah 60:1 “Everyone who is called by My name, Whom I have created for My glory; I have formed him, yes, I have made him.” - The authority and power, and the word of God that God has given to us, we must take hold of them and shine the light.
Acts 13:48 “Now when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad and glorified the word of the Lord. And as many as had been appointed to eternal life believed.” - When we share the gospel and when we meet disciples, there may be disciples who follow us. God will give us people who are meant to be ministered by you. There will be people who will walk the faith with you and go to heaven with you. These people who are prepared in the field.
The 3 Blessings of Life - God’s Image
Genesis 1:27 “So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.” - We may look like our physical appearance with our physical bodies but we have been made with God’s image. When we go to heaven, our flesh will be like Jesus, it will be in His likeness when we go to heaven. We should be thankful. We will be like brothers with Jesus and one body with Him. If we were cows, we will not be with Jesus becuse we will not be in His image. Because we have God’s image, God sees us as so precious. God has given us His power but we lost that power and God’s image because of our sin.
When Jesus resurrected, the first message that He gave was John 20:22 “And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them, 'Receive the Holy Spirit.’ ”. He commanded them to receive the Holy Spirit and power. Before Peter received the Holy Spirit, he was running away but after he received the Holy Spirit, he confidently shared the gospel.
Genesis 2:17 “But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.” - You know this Bible verse. Many nonbelievers ask why did God make the forbidden fruit if we were going to sin anyways? If God didn’t make the forbidden fruit, then we wouldn’t have sin. If you don’t understand this, then you don’t know the Bible. God is saying if we hold onto God’s word, then we will receive eternal life. The moment you let go of God’s word, you will go to the path of death. This was what God was show with the forbidden fruit. We have the mystery of eternal life in the word of God. God was teaching us that. The moment we lose hold of God’s word, then we will die. What I am preaching to you is that, it is so easy for us to receive blessings and enjoy the blessing of salvation. The reason why Babylon, Assyria, and Judah were destroyed was because they lose hold of God’s sword. God was telling them to hold onto the word and they will be restored of their blessings. That is the same thing, Genesis 2:17.
Unprecedented Blessings
Ephesians 2:5-6 “Even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), 6 and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus.” - You need to understand this, if you understand this, then you will pass out. The moment you accept Jesus Christ, God said that He saved us. When Jesus resurrected, we also resurrected as well. We are also sitting on the heavenly throne with Jesus. We should be so thankful. Our spirits are sitting in the heavenly throne along with Jesus next to God. We have the authority and blessing to enjoy the blessing of the heavenly throne. That is why I am emphasizing the 393 prayer. We are not ordinary beings.
Hebrews 12:22 “But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, to an innumerable company of angels.” - How thankful should we be? We have already reached our destination, the city of God. There are numerous angels. When I go over this prayer, I am filled with great emotions and thanksgiving. I pray to God to give me the blessing to enjoy my blessings as a child of God.
John 17:22 “And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one.” - God has given His glory to Jesus but Jesus gave that glory to us. How thankful should we be? God’s glory was given to us. The greatest glory is receive the Holy Spirit. That power has been given to us. When we pray with the power of the Holy Spirit, God will work. The second half of this Bible verse is amazing; just like Jesus and God became one body, Jesus prayed so that we can become one with them as well. We are one body with Christ. It is not just triune God but we are in the midst of the Triune God. When we hear this, we should pass out. How thankful should we be? This is real.
The Unprecedented Answers for the Church
2 Kings 6:17 “And Elisha prayed, and said, 'Lord, I pray, open his eyes that he may see.' Then the Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw. And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.” - Even person of God is protected by chariots of fire and wind of heaven. These chariots are protecting our church. Whenever we give worship to church on Sunday, I know that we are not many in number but I believe that the chariots of fire are with us. That is why when we give worship on Sunday, I give the message with great power. The armies of angels are with us when we give worship to God.
Mark 16:17-18 “And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; 18 they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.” - I will ask you a question. Do you believe in Jesus? Do you believe that the signs in Mark 16:17-18 will take place in your life? Jenny, lay your hands on your father. Pray for the sick, then God will heal that person absolutely. It was promised that signs will take place for those who believe. Pray with faith. Paul do the same thing for your father. God will work. Come back with evidences. God never jokes around. When I pray for patients, I pray this prayer. When I can’t pray, I pray for faith. That is the reason why we live our walk of faith.
Unprecedented Blessings in the Field
Joshua 10:13 “So the sun stood still, And the moon stopped, Till the people had revenge upon their enemies. Is this not written in the Book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and did not hasten to go down for about a whole day.” - This was talking about the war between the Israelites and Amalekites. At that time, Joshua prayed and the sun stopped. Truly experience this. When did he experience this? Until they had victory against the Amalekites. God will not budge until your problems are solved. Receive answers. God will be with you and protect you until your problems are resolved.
Isaiah 43:19 “Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.” - Hold onto this as your covenant today. Take this covenant with you as you start your new school semester. God promised that He will do a new thing. God will reveal a new spring for us. God promised that He will make a road in the wilderness and desert for us. When we go out with faith, then there will be roads in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. This is the power of faith. Even if you commit a grave sin and evil deeds like King Belshazzar, if you return back to God, then you will go to heaven. If God works, then there will be roads in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.
Historical Covenant of the 3 Ages
Hold onto the historical covenant of the 3 ages. Mark 3:13-15 “And He went up on the mountain and called to Him those He Himself wanted. And they came to Him. 14 Then He appointed twelve, that they might be with Him and that He might send them out to preach, 15 and to have power to heal sicknesses and to cast out demons.” - God wants you here so that is why you are here. God called you because He wanted you here. God wants to be with you. If you are a child of God, God is with you. There is nothing to fear. We have no choice but to receive answers. If we share the gospel, lives will be saved. Hold onto this, we have the power to cast out demons. If we are children of God, we have the authority and power to cast out demons. We have the power and authority of the name of Jesus. When we pray, then darkness of sickness will be driven out. The reason why God has called us was to cast out demons. Hold onto this.
Luke 10:1 “After these things the Lord appointed seventy others also, and sent them two by two before His face into every city and place where He Himself was about to go.” - You may think this, I am not an apostle or a pastor, how can I experience great evidences? God said this, God has raised up the 70 workers. God has called you. God gave the same evidences to the disciples. Deacon Philip who was just a deacon, he went to Samaria and great works arose. The same thing will happen to us. May we enjoy these blessings. What happens in the field?
Acts 8:7-8 “For unclean spirits, crying with a loud voice, came out of many who were possessed; and many who were paralyzed and lame were healed. 8 And there was great joy in that city.” - Deacon Philip went to Samaria, this was what happened in the field. These are the blessings that we will enjoy. These evidences will manifest in your life. How thankful should we be. God promised that He will show us these evidences .
Mark 16:19-20 “After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, He was taken up into heaven and He sat at the right hand of God. 20 Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed His Word by the signs that accompanied it.” - The resurrected Jesus is sitting next to God’s throne. We are also sitting next to Jesus on the heavenly throne. When the disciples went to the field and preached the gospel, the Lord was with them and worked alongside them. God will show accompanying signs when we evangelize. Believe in this. We have the power of the heavenly throne. Whatever we do on earth and in the throne, the same thing will happen and occur.
Globalization
Isaiah 60:2-3 “For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, And deep darkness the people; But the Lord will arise over you, And His glory will be seen upon you. 3 The Gentiles shall come to your light, And kings to the brightness of your rising.” - The world is becoming more wicked and more people are having mental problems along with more shooting incidents occurring. More wicked and evil things will happen in this world. When these things happening, God tells us that He will reveal His glory upon us. This is because we must save people and the world. We must save kings and nations, God is with us, this is why God called you. If problems arises like car accidents, bless and yield to those people, and ask them to attend church and believe in Jesus. They will ask you what church you go to. Tell them what church you go to and they will say that they will visit. That is evangelism. Enjoy these blessings.
Acts 20:24 “However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.” - God has given each one of us a plan. When we hold onto God’s covenant, for Paul, he had the mission to go to Rome. No matter what happened to Paul, God told Paul not to be afraid. A storm was nothing before Paul becuase Paul had to go before Caesar and God promised that everyone will be saved because of Paul. Becuase of you, God will save people around you becuase you are holding onto the correct mission. Enjoy this. All of this combined is the blessing of the heavenly throne.
Conclusion
Meditate on this. Every time I meditate on these Bible verses, I am so thankful. Then, great power will be manifested upon you. True evidences will arise through you.
