The Beginning of Hebrews (Hebrews 1:1-3)

Scripture: “ 1 God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, 2 has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds; 3 who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high. ”
<Introduction>
During the Korean War, there was a man who won an award as a reporter. He followed the U.S. army to war and the army was going on large marches during the winter time. It was dinner time so they stopped and all gathered together to eat. They were all shivering in the cold and eating dinner in fear because they could be attacked at any time. During that time, there was a very tall soldier who the reporter saw eating against the tree. This officer was eating a can of food that was frozen. There was so much fear and tiredness within the face of this soldier. When the reporter saw this soldier, he approached him and asked him a question, “If God asked you what your wish is, what would you say to God?” This person responded as if he was praying to God, “Give me tomorrow.” We can see that this was a dire and earnest response from this soldier. All people within this world, they are living without knowing what will happen tomorrow. God is the One who determines tomorrow. When we look at this truth, we can see that if we have hope for tomorrow or not. What is your plan for tomorrow? What does God want you to do today and tomorrow? Do you have the prayer topics to give happiness and glory to God? If you have these prayer topics, then God will be pleased and will protect you. Why is that? God is the main figure and author of history. We have been reading the book of Acts and now today, we started the book of Hebrews. If we look at the book of Hebrews, it talks deeply and accurately about Jesus Christ. God gave us a lot of grace from the book of Acts but I was able to see that God has prepared greater grace within the book of Hebrews. May you receive a lot of grace from the book of Hebrews as well as be able to receive healing from all things.
1. The Main Character of History
1) The writer of Hebrews
We are unaware of who wrote the book of Hebrews but who were the audience for the book of Hebrews? As we see in the title, it was for the Hebrew people. For all Hebrews and not just for the Jews. It was a letter for the Hebrew and Jewish Christians who lived in Jerusalem.
When was the book of Hebrews written? We are unsure of this but if you look in Hebrews 10:32 (“But recall the former days in which, after you were illuminated, you endured a great struggle with sufferings.”) - The fact that they were experiencing persecution and hardships, this means that it was estimated during the time of Nero’s reign. The book of Hebrews was probably written after Nero’s death by suicide and before the destruction of Jerusalem. It was probably written in the first century. Why did this author write the book of Hebrews? We saw last week, the book of Acts talked about the ministry of Apostle Paul. After Paul was able to share the gospel in Rome, we can see that many people converted to Christianity in Rome. After they heard the gospel, they were able to start their passionate faith.
2) The background of Hebrews
When did this start? It is written in Hebrews 10:33-34 (“Partly while you were made a spectacle both by reproaches and tribulations, and partly while you became companions of those who were so treated; 34 for you had compassion on me in my chains, and joyfully accepted the plundering of your goods, knowing that you have a better and an enduring possession for yourselves in heaven.”) - Due to Nero’s persecution, great suffering and problems arose and many Christians experienced a lot of hardships. Also, many Christians were imprisoned. Not only that but they lost a lot of their possessions and were seen as criminals. Even though they lost everything, it said that they were still very joyous and happy. This was the state of their tremendous faith. What was the reason?
They were able to joyfully accept their hardships because they had hope for heaven. With this type of faith, they were able to overcome and endure persecutions from Nero. But as time went on, their faith started decreasing. They became harder for them to attend worship and lost hold of prayer. Many people’s level of faith started decreasing. During that time, the Jews who didn’t believe in Christ, they started persecuting Christians and mocking and criticizing them. Of course, you have no choice but to become weaker when you lose hold of worship and prayer. The Jews were mocking and criticizing the Christians for lacking proper worship services before God. They were stating that true worship is where you give sacrifices to God at the temple of God. Many Christians started hindering and shaking within their faith. But, the Jews who were worshipping at the synagogues, Nero was not touching nor persecuting them. The Jews were saying that God was protecting them and not protecting the Christians. Therefore, this led many Christians to go back to their old Jewish beliefs and traditions.
Due to this, the book of Hebrews was made and it was written in Hebrews 12:2 (“Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”) - Jesus Christ is the concluder of our faith. We saw within today’s scripture, the author talked about the revelation of Jesus Christ.
2. The Main Character of the Revelations
1) Old Testament times
Verse 1 - Various times is referring to the Old Testament. It is talking about the prophets in the Old Testament. Through the prophets, God spoke to His people in various methods and ways. Within the Old Testament, during the time of Adam, Moses, and various eras in the Bible, we can see that God spoke to His people. God spoke to His people through various methods and ways, and we can see that God spoke to Abraham through an angel. For Moses, God spoke to Him through storms. Also God spoke to Elijah through His direct voice. Through the Old Testament, God allowed His thoughts and plans to be revealed through these various methods and ways. What did God speak of? He spoke of the revelation of Jesus Christ. The Old Testament was written to show the coming of Jesus Christ, the Messiah.
2) New Testament times
Verse 2 - God spoke through His Son in the last days. In the last days, this is referring to the New Testament. Which is the last days, which means that this is the fulfillment of the New Testament when Jesus Christ was revealed. When Jesus Christ was revealed, God’s revelation was shown. This means that there is no more revelation anymore except what will be shown through the words of God. This was because it was Christ who would reveal the revelation of God. That is why during the last days of Christ, He spoke of God’s Words. God spoke through His Son, Jesus. This shows that God revealed His Word in Christ, His Son. This means that God was within Christ.
John 8:28 (“Then Jesus said to them, 'When you lift up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am He, and that I do nothing of Myself; but as My Father taught Me, I speak these things.' ”) - What is important here? Jesus Christ never spoke His own words. He spoke of only what God taught Him and only spoke of God’s Words.
Galatians 2:20 (“I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.”) - We can see that Jesus Christ also followed Galatians 2:20. Through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, it showed the end of God’s revelations. What was the conclusion of God’s revelation in the Old Testament? If you believe in Christ then you will live but if you don’t believe in Christ, then you will perish. This is because everything is centered on Christ. Then, we need to see the content of the revelations.
3. The Content of the Revelations
1) The Son who is the Heir
Verse 2 - God appointed Christ as the heir of all things. God already appointed Christ the heir of all things. When did this appointment start? It started when Jesus Christ completed His work as the Christ and resurrected after His death on the cross.
That is why the resurrected Jesus spoke in Matthew 28:18 (“Then Jesus came to them and said, 'All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me.’ ”) - This Jesus spoke directly of God’s Word and after He died and resurrected, God gave Him all authority of heaven and earth. The most important thing is what did Christ do to receive the appointment of heir of all things? He completed the ministry as an heir of all things.
2) The ministry of the Heir
Philippians 2:8 (“And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.”) - He came to this earth in human flesh and was obedient until His death. He was obedient to God until the point of His death. Why did Jesus live like this?
Hebrews 2:14 (“Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil.”) - The reason why Jesus Christ came in human flesh was to defeat Satan. He came to earth in human flesh and died on the cross to defeat the power of Satan. This is a very important message.
Hebrews 9:15 (“And for this reason He is the Mediator of the new covenant, by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions under the first covenant, that those who are called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance.”) - Why did Jesus Christ have to die? The first covenant that Adam and Eve received, they broke that covenant with God so we had to receive forgiveness of those sins. That is why Jesus Christ had to die for our sins. This was because this was the only way for us to live. Also, what other blessing has been given to us? Through the death of Christ, we have also received the eternal inheritance. Jesus Christ did not die on the cross just for our sins. He died on the cross so that He can give us eternal inheritance as saved people of God.
Hebrews 13:20-21 (“Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, 21 make you complete in every good work to do His will, working in you what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.”) - Jesus Christ came as the True Prophet and died on the cross and shed His blood so that He could lead us again to the upright path back to God. In other words, when Jesus Christ died on the cross, He took on the role as the heir of all things and received authority of all heaven and earth. God has bestowed great blessings upon Jesus. What is more important is that God created the world through Jesus as seen in verse 2. God created the world. What does this mean? For the fulfillment of His plan, God created everything through Jesus Christ according to His plan. Through His Son, Jesus, He was able to create the world.
3) The blessing of the Heir
Genesis 1:3 (“Then God said, 'Let there be light'; and there was light.”) - God created the world through the Word of God.
It is explained once again in John 1:3 (“All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.”) - The One who created all of the world was the Word of God, Jesus Christ. The book of Hebrews is sharing with us a very important message. God raised up the heir of all things who created the entire world. God who is the Creator of all things but He created mankind in His own image in Genesis 1:27 (“So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.”). What image? It was through the image of God that God created mankind.
2 Corinthians 4:4 (“Whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.”) - It said that mankind are the image of God. Mankind were created in the image of Christ. This is a very tremendous blessing given to us.
Romans 8:17 (“And if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.”) - This is a very astounding message. If we are children of God then we are heirs of God. Why is that? This is because Christ is within us. The moment we become a child of God and Christ comes inside of us, then we become heirs of all things. Then, what happens? The one who is heir of all things, Christ’s glory will shine upon us. The heir of all things, Christ, we will also receive the same blessings. This is a tremendous glory and this glory will be shine through Christ who dwells in us.
Apostle Paul confessed in Philippians 4:13 (“I can do all this through Him who gives me strength.”) - All authority and power of Christ is within us and the heir of all things, Christ is within us. Then, this means is that we can enjoy the authority of heaven and earth. If that is so, then there is no need for us to live this world in weakness. Jesus Christ has completely destroyed the powers of Satan. He is already victorious against Satan. He has completely destroyed all of the curses of our family line. He is leading us to all good works and for the sake of His glory. May we enjoy these blessings.
<Conclusion>
Hold onto John 17:22 (“And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one.”) - This was what Jesus Christ said. This was the content of His prayer to God. “Them”, Who is that? It is you and I. God has permitted all blessing sand glory to us. This glory is not a simple matter but this glory of Christ who completed all things is within us. It has been revealed to us. God has given this to us so preciously and unsparingly. And, it says that we are one. God and Jesus Christ are one as the Triune God. Just like that, we are one with God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. May we enjoy this glory. Then, this means that Jesus’ authority and power becomes my own. Jesus’ glory is something that we can enjoy to our heart’s content. We can receive His glory. Enjoy this within the name of Jesus Christ. May we enjoy the blessings of being the heir of all things within the name of Jesus Christ.
히브리서의 시작(히1:1-3)
서론
한국 전쟁 때 퓰리처상을 받은 히긴스 라는 기자가 있었다. 미국 해병대를 따라서 한국 전쟁에 참여했다. 강추위 속에서 계속 행군을 했다. 저녁식사 때가 되었다. 잠시 전 군이 가던 것을 멈추고 식사를 했다. 모두 추위에 떨면서 언제 공격 당할지 모르는 두려움에 식사를 하고 있었다. 그 중에 키가 큰 한 병사가 나무에 기댄채 식사를 하고 있는 것을 보았다. 이 군인은 서서 얼어붙은 캔을 따서 입에 집어넣고 있었다. 몇일 동안 전투에 시달려서 얼굴에 피곤함과 두려움이 가득했었다. 그 모습을 본 기자가 그에게 다가갔다. “혹시 지금 하나님께서 당신에게 소원을 말하라고 한다면 당신은 뭐라고 기도하겠습니까?” 그 사람이 그 얘기를 듣더니 애원하면서 기도하듯이 이야기 했다. “나에게 내일을 주십시요 라고 기도하겠습니다.” 참으로 절박한 가운데서 한 이야기 같다. 이 세상에 사는 모든 사람들은 내일 어떻게 될지 아무도 모르고 살아가고 있다. 내일의 결정은 하나님께서 하시기 때문이다. 우리 이 사실을 보면서 중요한 것은 지금 내가 내일의 소망을 가지고 있느냐 없느냐 하는 것이다. 나는 내일 무엇을 할 계획을 가지고 있는가. 하나님께서 여러분들에게 내일 오늘 무엇을 하길 원하시는지 알고 계신가. 내일은 내가 하나님께 무엇을 기쁘게 해드려야겠다는 기도제목이 있는가. 아마 그 기도제목이 있다면 기뻐하시면서 모든 것을 지켜주실 것이다. 왜 그런가. 바로 역사의 주인공 생명의 주인공은 하나님이시기 때문이다. 저는 그동안에 사도행전을 같이 보아왔다. 오늘서부터는 히브리서를 보려고 한다. 히브리서를 보게되면 그리스도에 대해서 정확하게 깊이 있게 다루고있는 것을 보게된다. 사도행전에서도 크신 은혜를 주셨지만 저는 히브리서를 보면서 더 큰 은혜를 주시겠다 하는 마음이 들었다. 히브리서를 통해서 큰 은혜 받고 모든 부족했던 부분이 치유되고 힘을 얻는 귀한 시간 되기를 바란다.
1. 역사의 주인공
1) 히브리서의 저자
이 히브리서의 저자는 아직까지도 정확히 밝혀지지 않고 있다. 히브리서는 제목에서 보는것과 마찬가지로 히브리사람들에게 쓴 것이다. 모든 히브리인들, 모든 유대인들에게 쓴 것이 아니라 유대교에서 개종한 그리스도인들에게 쓴 것이다. 언제 기록되었는지도 정확하게 밝혀지지 않고있다. 그런데 히 10:32 말씀을 보면 추정을 할 수 있다.
히 10:32 전날에 너희가 빛을 받은 후에 고난의 큰 싸움을 견디어 낸 것을 생각하라
전날에 너희가 큰 고난의 싸움을 싸웠다는 것을 보면 네로의 핍박 이후에 기록된 것을 생각해볼 수 있다. 많은 학자들이 네로 황제가 자살한 이후에 그리고 예루살렘이 멸망되기 이전에 기록된 것을 보고있다. 68~70년도 안에 썼을 것이라고 생각하고 있다. 그러면 여기서 잡을 것은 왜 저자가 히브리서를 썼는가.
2) 히브리서의 배경
우리가 지난시간에 봤습니다만 사도행전에서 사도바울이 마지막 로마사역을 한 것을 끝나고 있다. 사도바울이 감옥에서 2년 동안 복음을 전한 결과 많은 로마에 사는 유대인들이 기독교로 입교를 하게 되었다. 그들이 사도바울에게 복음을 받고 뜨거운 신앙으로 성장되었다. 어느정도인가. 히브리서 10:33-34에서 찾아볼 수 있다.
히 10:33-34 혹은 비방과 환난으로써 사람에게 구경거리가 되고 혹은 이런 형편에 있는 자들과 사귀는 자가 되었으니 너희가 갇힌 자를 동정하고 너희 소유를 빼앗기는 것도 기쁘게 당한 것은 더 낫고 영구한 소유가 있는 줄 앎이라
네로의 핍박으로 인해 많은 비방과 환란이 있고 끌려다니면서 사람들의 구경거리가 되었다는 말이다. 뿐만 아니라 많은 사람들이 감옥에 갇혔다. 뿐만 아니라 많은 소유물을 예수 믿는다는 이유로 뺴앗겼다. 놀라운 것은 그 빼앗김을 당하면서도 기쁘게 당했다고 나온다. 놀라운 신앙이 기록되어있다. 그 이유가 영구한 소유가 있는 줄을 알기 때문이라고 했다. 바로 천국의 소망을 갖고있기 때문이라는 말이다. 이런 신앙으로 네로의 핍박을 이겨냈던 사람들이다. 이 사람들이 점점 믿음이 떨어지기 시작했다. 예배에 참석하니 많은 사람들이 없어지고 힘을 잃게 된다. 기도가 없어지게 되고 전도가 할 수 없는 상황이 많이 임하게 된다. 많은 사람들이 믿음이 점점 떨어져나갔다. 그 때에 예수를 믿지 않는 유대인들이 기독교인들을 공격해들어왔다. 그리고 유혹을 하기 시작했다. 예배가 제대로 되지 않고 기도 전도가 되지 않는 상태에서는 자연적으로 연약해질 수 밖에 없다. 그게 무슨 예배냐, 짐승을 잡아서 성전에 바치는 것이 예배지 했다. 뿐만 아니라 웅장한 성전에서 하나님께 드리는 것을 받으시지 어떻게 여기 앉아서 드리는게 예배냐 하고 공격했다. 많은 사람이 흔들렸다. 뿐만 아니라 네로의 박해 가운데서도 회당에서 예배드렸던 유대인들은 다치지 않았다. 하나님께서 여기는 지켜주시지 않느냐 하면서 또 공격해 들어온 것이다. 많은 사람들이 다시 옛날 자기가 믿었던 유대교로 돌아가게 되었다. 이 사실을 보면서 기록한 것이 히브리서이다.
히 12:2 믿음의 주요 또 온전하게 하시는 이인 예수를 바라보자—
예수님이 바로 구원의 결론되신 분이다 하고 이야기한다. 우리가 오늘 본문 같이 읽었습니다만 히브리서 기자는 제일 처음부터 막바로 하나님의 계시로 들어간다.
2. 계시의 주인공
1) 구약시대
히1:1 옛적에 선지자들을 통하여 여러 부분과 여러 모양으로 우리 조상들에게 말씀하신 하나님이
여기서 옛적이라는 것은 구약시대를 이야기한다. 구약시대의 선지자들을 통해여 하고 이야기한다. 선지자를 통하여라는 것은 원어를 보게되면 선지자 안에서 말씀하셨다고 나온다. 하나님께서 선지자 안에서 여러 부분과 여러 모양으로 말씀하셨다. 구약시대 기록한 내용을 나타낸다. 여러 부분이라는 것은 아담의 시대 모세 시대 포로 시대 등 여러 시대를 통해 하나님이 계시하신 것을 기록한 것을 말한다. 여러 모양이라는 것은 하나님의 살아계심을 보여주셨는데 아브라함에게는 사람이나 천사의 모양으로 나타나셔서 직접 대화하셨다. 모세같은 경우에는 우레 가운데서 말씀하셨다. 엘리야같은 경우에는 세미한 음성으로 찾아오셔서 말씀하셨다. 하나님께서는 구약을 통해서 하나님의 생각과 계획과 목적을 계속 알리셨다. 무엇을 하나님께서 말씀하시는가. 바로 그리스도의 계시를 말씀하시는 것이다. 구약이라는 것은 그리스도가 오실 것을 계시한 것이다.
2) 신약시대
히1:2 이 모든 날 마지막에는 아들을 통하여 우리에게 말씀하셨으니—
이 모든 날 마지막이라는 것은 구약 시대의 마지막을 이야기하고 있다. 우리가 얘기하는 말세를 이야기하고 있는 것이다. 성경에서 이야기하는 마지막이라는 것은 계시가 성취되는 순간을 나타낸다. 마지막 날에 그리스도가 나타나신 것이다. 그리스도가 나타나심이 바로 하나님의 계시의 끝을 나타낸다. 여기서 중요한 것은 그리스도 외에는 더이상 계시가 없게 되었다는 것이다. 왜냐하면 그리스도께서 계시의 완성을 시키셨기 때문이다. 그래서 마지막 오신 예수님을 통해서 우리에게 말씀하셨다고 나온다. 아들을 통하여 말씀하셨다고 나온다. 이것도 같이 아들 안에서 우리에게 말씀하셨다는 것이다. 예수님 안에서 실제 말씀을 주시고 계시를 주신 분이 하나님이셨다는 것이다.
요8:28 이에 예수께서 이르시되 너희가 인자를 든 후에 내가 그인 줄을 알고 또 내가 스스로 아무 것도 하지 아니하고 오직 아버지께서 가르치신 대로 이런 것을 말하는 줄도 알리라
여기서 중요한 것은 예수님께서는 스스로 아무것도 말씀하지 않았다는 것이다. 모든 것은 아버지께서 가르쳐주신 그대로 말씀하셨다는 것이다. 우리가 지금 갈 2:20을 얘기하고 있는데 예수님도 하나님 앞에서 갈 2:20을 행하신 것이다. 예수 그리스도께서 부활하시고 성취하시는 순간에 이 계시가 성취되었다. 그러면 하나님의 모든 계시의 결론이 무엇인가. 이것은 그리스도를 믿으면 살고 믿지 않으면 죽는다는 얘기이다. 그리스도를 통해서 모든 것이 종결나기 때문이다. 그러면 여기서 구체적인 계시의 내용을 봐야겠다.
3. 계시의 내용
1)상속자 되신 아들
히 1:2 –이 아들을 만유의 상속자로 세우시고 또 그로 말미암아 모든 세계를 지으셨느니라
창조하기 이전에 하나님께서는 아들을 상속자로 정해놓으셨다. 그러면 하나님께서는 언제 예수님을 상속자로 임명하셨는가. 바로 그것은 아들이 그리스도의 사역을 마치시고 죽으시고 부활하셨을 때 성취되는 것을 볼 수 있다. 그래서 부활하신 예수님께서 말씀하셨다.
마28:18 예수께서 나아와 말씀하여 이르시되 하늘과 땅의 모든 권세를 내게 주셨으니
예수님께서는 그 전에 모든 것을 하나님을 따라서 말씀하셨지만 이제는 모든 권세를 내게 주셨으니 내가 모든 것을 주관한다는 상속자의 축복을 누리는 것이다. 상속자가 완성이 되게되는 사역이 무엇인가?
2) 상속자의 사역
바로 예수님의 지상사역, 그리스도의 사역을 나타낸다.
빌2:8 사람의 모양으로 나타나사 자기를 낮추시고 죽기까지 복종하셨으니 곧 십자가에 죽으심이라
육신을 입고 이 땅에 오셔서 십자가에 죽기까지 복종하셨다는 것이다. 완전히 갈 2:20의 삶을 사셨는데 죽기까지 복종하시까지로 사셨다는 것이다. 왜 그렇게 사셨는가.
히 2:14 자녀들은 혈과 육에 속하였으매 그도 또한 같은 모양으로 혈과 육을 함께 지니심은 죽음을 통하여 죽음의 세력을 잡은 자 곧 마귀를 멸하시며
육신의 모양, 사람의 모양으로 오신 이유는 죽음을 통해서 마귀를 멸하시기 위함이라고 나온다. 예수님께서 왕직을 행하신 것은 사람의 몸을 갖고 죽으심으로서 마귀를 멸하셨다. 참 귀중한 말씀이다.
히 9:15 이로 말미암아 그는 새 언약의 중보자시니 이는 첫 언약 때에 범한 죄에서 속량하려고 죽으사 부르심을 입은 자로 하여금 영원한 기업의 약속을 얻게 하려 하심이라
왜 그렇게 돌아가셔야했는가. 첫 언약 때, 아담과 하와가 범한 죄 때문에 인간이 멸망을 당하게 되었다는 것이다. 그 죄를 속량하기 위해서 십자가에서 죽으셨다는 사실이다. 그래야만 우리가 살기 때문이다. 죽으심을 통해서 또 부르심을 입은 자로 하여금 영원한 기업을 얻게 하려 하셨다. 단지 우리 죄문제만 해결하기 위해서 십자가에 돌아가신게 아니다. 구원받은 우리에게 영원한 기업의 약속을 주기 위해 돌아가셨다는 것이다.
히13:20-21 양들의 큰 목자이신 우리 주 예수를 영원한 언약의 피로 죽은 자 가운데서 이끌어 내신 평강의 하나님이 21 모든 선한 일에 너희를 온전하게 하사 –
선지자 되신 예수님께서 이 땅에 오셔서 십자가에 못박혀 돌아가셔서 언약의 피를 흘리심으로서 평강의 하나님께서 선하신 일로 온전케하는 길로 인도하시게 되었다. 예수님께서 십자가에 못박혀 상속자의 사역을 감당하심으로서 모든 권세를 받으셨다. 이것은 어마어마한 축복인 것을 볼 수 있다.
3) 상속자의 축복
중요한 것은 2절 마지막 보게되면 하나님은 예수 그리스도를 상속자로 세우시고 그로 말미암아 모든 세계를 지으셨다고 나온다. 하나님께서 세상을 창조하셨다는 것이다. 그런데 그로 말미암아 세계를 지으셨다고 나온다. 이것은 무슨 말씀이냐면 하나님의 계획에 의해서 아들을 통하여 창조하셨다는 것이다. 하나님의 계획에 의해서 말씀되신 아들을 통하여 세계를 창조하셨다는 것이다.
창1:3 하나님이 이르시되 빛이 있으라 하시니 빛이 있었고
이 말씀되신 하나님께서 말씀을 통해서 창조하셨다.
요 1:3 만물이 그로 말미암아 지은 바 되었으니 지은 것이 하나도 그가 없이는 된 것이 없느니라
이 모든 세계를 창조하신 창조주는 말씀되신 하나님, 상속자 되신 하나님이시라고 한다. 오늘 히브리서는 굉장히 중요한 이야기를 하고 있다. 상속자로 세우시고 상속자로 말미암아 모든 세계를 지으셨다. 모든 세계를 상속자되신 말씀되신 하나님께서 창조하셨는데 창 1:27 보게되면 자기 형상 곧 하나님의 형상대로 창조하셨다고 나온다. 자기 형상, 하나님의 형상대로 창조했다.
고후 4:4 –그리스도는 하나님의 형상이니라
우리 인간은 그리스도의 형상을 가지고 하나님의 형상, 상속자의 형상으로 만들어졌다는 것이다. 어마어마한 축복이 미리 보장되어있는 것이다.
롬8:17 자녀이면 또한 상속자 곧 하나님의 상속자요 그리스도와 함께 한 상속자니 우리가 그와 함께 영광을 받기 위하여 고난도 함께 받아야 할 것이니라
여기서 놀라운 말씀이 나타난다. 우리가 하나님의 자녀라면 하나님의 상속자가 된 것이다. 왜그런가. 그리스도와 함께한 상속자이기 때문이다. 우리가 예수 그리스도를 영접함으로서 하나님의 자녀가 되고 그리스도가 우리 안에 내주하게 되면 우리는 그리스도와 함께한 상속자가 된다. 그렇게 되면 그와 함께 상속자되신 예수 그리스도께서 받으신 모든 영광을 우리도 받게된다. 그러므로 하나님의 자녀된 우리는 주님의 상속자된 축복을 받게된다. 어마어마한 영광이 그리스도를 통해서 나타나게 된다.
빌 4:13 내게 능력 주시는 자 안에서 내가 모든 것을 할 수 있느니라
하늘과 땅의 모든 권세를 가지신 주님께서 내 안에 함께 계시기 때문에 모든 권세를 우리가 이 땅에서 누릴 수 있다. 그러므로 이 땅에 살면서 연약하게 살 이유가 하나도 없다. 우리가 함께하시는 상속자되신 주님께서 사단의 세력을 완전히 멸하셨다. 이미 사단의 권세를 완전히 이기셨다. 우리의 모든 가문의 죄 저주의 죄가 완전히 해결받았다. 그리고 하나님께서 선한 일을 위해 우리를 인도하고 계신다. 영광 가운데서 우리를 인도하고 계신다. 이런 축복을 누리시는 줄로 믿는다. 정말 누리시기 바란다.
결론
요 17:22 내게 주신 영광을 내가 그들에게 주었사오니 이는 우리가 하나가 된 것 같이 그들도 하나가 되게 하려 함이니이다
예수님께서 말씀하셨다. 하나님 아버지께 기도한 내용이다. 아버지께서 나에게 상속자로서 하늘과 땅의 모든 권세를 주신 것과 마찬가지로 그 영광을 나도 그들에게 주었다는 것이다. 그들이 누군가. 저와 여러분들이다. 저와 여러분들에게 주님께서 가지신 그 놀라운 영광을 다 허락해주셨다. 내게 주신 영광은 간단한 것이 아니라 하나님 나라에서 누릴수 있는 모든 축복과 영광이다. 그것을 하나님께서 우리에게 아낌없이 주셨다. 우리가 하나가 된 것 같이 그들도 하나가 되게 하려 함이니라. 예수님과 하나님은 한 몸이다. 그것과 마찬기로 우리도 상속자 때문에 같이 하나가 되는 축복을 받게된다. 우리는 이 영광을 누릴 수 있다. 예수님의 권세가 내 권세가 되는 것이다. 예수님의 능력이 바로 내 능력이다. 예수님의 영광도 예수 그리스도 안에서 내가 마음껏 누릴 수 있게된다. 상상못할 영광이 우리에게 주어진 줄로 믿는다. 정말 누리시는 여러분 되시기 바란다. 이번 한 주간에는 상속자의 영광을 누리는 한 주되기를 예수 그리스도의 이름으로 축원한다.
