상속자를 섬기는 천사들(히1:10-14)
서론
제가 CCC총재 되시는 김준곤 목사님의 간증을 들었다. 이 분의 부모님은6.25 때 공산당에 의해서 아주 잔인하게 죽임을 당했다. 이 분은 그 이후에 나라를 위해서 계속 기도를 했다. 하나님을 잘 믿는 나라가 되게 해 주세요 하고 기도했다. 세계복음화를 할 수 있는 나라가 되도록 축복해달라고 기도했다. 아마 이 분이 간절한 마음으로 기도했던것 같다. 이 분은 제가 알기로는 상당히 나라를 사랑하시는 분으로 알고있다. 기도를 간절히 드리니까 하나님께서 하루는 비몽사몽간에 응답을 주셨다. 그 음성이 바로 내가 북한에 있는 김정일을 제거하겠다 하는 음성이었다. 또 음성이 들리기를 내가 노무현 전 대통령을 떨어져 죽게하겠다 하는 음성을 들려주셨다. 또 계속해서 음성을 들려주셨다. “이 나라를 걱정하지 말아라. 한국을 세계 선교하는 나라로 세우겠다. 그리고 한국을 축복하겠다” 하는 음성을 들었다고 한다. 이 양반은 이상한 응답을 받아서 무슨 응답인가 하고 생각을 했다고 한다. 그런데 얼마 지나지 않아서 정말 김정일이 죽었다. 그리고 또 노무현 전 대통령도 바위에서 떨어져서 자살을 했다. 놀라운 사건이 이렇게 일어난 것을 볼 수 있었다. 저는 이 이야기를 들으면서 기도라는 것이 무엇인가 다시 생각보았다. 기도라는 것은 눈에 보이지 않지만 우리를 보고 계시고 듣고 계시고 함께 계시는 하나님과 대화하는 것이라는 생각이 들었다. 기도라는 것은 상상도 할 수 없는 천지를 창조하신 하나님과 인격적으로 개인적으로 만남의 시간을 갖는 것이다. 저는 그 간증 가운데 한가지 마음에 와닿는게 있었다. 하나님께서는 한국을 택하시고 쓰시기로 작정하신 계획이 지금 성취되가고 있구나 생각했다. 지금 우리는 237나라 복음화를 위해서 언약을 잡고 기도하는 가운데 있다. 우리가 잡고있는 237나라 세게복음화가 반드시 응답되겠구나 하는 확신이 들었다. 분명한 것은 주님은 부활하셔서 지금도 살아계신다. 그리고 바로 그 분은 우리와 함께 계신다. 그러므로 우리가 예수님을 정확하게 아는 것, 하나님의 아들을 정확하게 아는 것이 얼마나 귀중한지 모른다. 우리가 히브리서를 통해서 하나님의 아들에 대해서 주신 말씀을 받고있다. 오늘 말씀을 보면 또 아주 엄청난 말씀을 주시는 것을 볼 수 있다.
1. 영원하신 능력
1) 천지를 창조
히1:10 또 주여 태초에 주께서 땅의 기초를 두셨으며 하늘도 주의 손으로 지으신 바라
저는 여기서 이 말씀 가운데 태초다 하는 말씀이 가슴에 와닿았다. 태초라는 것은 시간이 시작되는 시점을 나타낸다. 하나님께서는 천지를 창조하실 때에 시간과 공간을 함께 창조하셨다. 이 공간을 하나님께서 창조하시고 그 안에 하나님께서 하늘을 만드시고 수 많은 별들을 만드시고 땅을 만드시고 수 많은 동물을 만드셨다. 창조가 시작되면서 이 공간에 시간이 시작되었다. 그러니까 이 아들되신 주님께서는 시간과 공간을 주관하시는 분이다. 그러면 우리가 먼저 확인해야할 것은 왜 하나님께서는 이 시간과 공간을 창조하셨는가.
사 43:7 내 이름으로 불려지는 모든 자 곧 내가 내 영광을 위하여 창조한 자를 오게 하라 그를 내가 지었고 그를 내가 만들었느니라
영광을 받으시기 위해서 지으셨다. 그러면 이 하늘에 수많은 별들과 우주와 은하계를 만드시고 이 땅에 수많은 동물을 창조하셨는데 그러면 영광을 받으시는데 있어서 핵심이 무엇인가. 이 핵심은 하나님의 형상을 가진 인간에게 있었다. 하나님의 형상을 가진 인간에게 많은 축복을 주셨다. 생육하고 번성하여 다스리라 하는 어마어마한 축복과 권세를 주시면서 이 세상에서 누릴 수 있는 행복을 마음껏 누리며 살아라 하고 축복해주셨다. 하나님께서 영광받으시는 것은 하나님의 형상을 가진 인간들이 이 땅에서 마음껏 누리는 것을 기뻐하시면서 그것을 통해서 영광을 받으신다. 그런데 문제가 생겼다.
계 12:9 큰 용이 내쫓기니 옛 뱀 곧 마귀라고도 하고 사탄이라고도 하며 온 천하를 꾀는 자라 그가 땅으로 내쫓기니 그의 사자들도 그와 함께 내쫓기니라
3차원의 공간 밖에 있었던 흑암의 권세가 인간세상에 들어왔다. 그래서 창세기 3장 보게되면 하나님의 영광을 방해하는 사건이 생긴다. 하나님께서는 아들을 이 땅에 보내셔서 십자가에 못박혀 죽게하심으로서 원수 마귀를 멸하셨다. 그래서 이 사실을 믿고 영접하는 자 마다 하나님의 자녀되는 하나님의 형상이 회복되는 축복을 받게된다. 그래서 하나님의 형상을 회복시키는 역사를 보게된다.
2) 영적세계
히 1:11 그것들은 멸망할 것이나 오직 주는 영존할 것이요 그것들은 다 옷과 같이 낡아지리니
오늘 말씀을 보게되면 이 3차원 공간, 하늘과 땅에 보이는 모든 것들은 멸망할 것이라고 한다. 모든 것은 다 없어진다. 그런데 주는 영존하실 것이라고 한다. 왜 주님이 영존하시는가. 바로 시간과 공간 밖에 계신 분이기 때문이다. 그 분은 시간과 공간을 만드신 분이다. 그리고 영적세계를 통치하시는 통치자시다. 우리가 영적문제를 가진 사람들에게서 가끔 보게된다. 눈에 보이지 않는 어떤 존재 때문에 어려움을 당한다. 그런데 그 존재는 역시 시간과 공간을 초월해서 인간을 괴롭힌다. 얘기를 들은 적이 있다. 한국에서 무당을 어머니로 모시고 있는 사람이 문제가 생겨서 물어봤더니 네가 신을 받아야한다는 것이다. 그래서 나는 무당되기 싫다고 해서 미국으로 도망을 왔다. 그런데 미국으로 도망왔는데 여기서 무당이 된 것이다. 도망왔다고 귀신이 한국에만 있는 것이 아니다. 그 영적인 존재는 시공을 초월한 존재이기 때문에 어디든지 역사한다. 한국에서 가문 문제 있는 사람이 미국에 왔다고 가문 문제가 없어지는게 아니다. 영적문제를 정확하게 파악하는 것이 중요하다. 이 영적 문제를 어떻게 해결하는가. 바로 예수님께서 인간이 고통 당하고 있는 이 영적문제를 해결하기 위해서 십자가에 못박혀 돌아가신 것이다. 어떤 사람들은 그렇게 이야기한다. 2천년 전에 예루살렘에서 돌아가신 예수님이 지금 우리와 무슨 상관이 있느냐. 이것은 영적세계를 몰라서 하는 말이다. 이 장소 뿐 아니라 시간도 과거 현재 미래까지도 하나로 보는 것이 영적세계이다. 예수님께서 십자가에 못박혀 돌아가신 것은 이 사건 하나를 통해서 창세기부터 요한계시록까지 사는 모든 사람에게 적용되는 것이다. 누구든지 이 땅에 사는 사람은 예수가 그리스도라는 사실을 믿고 영접만 하게되면 구원을 받는다. 그렇기 때문에 그리스도가 귀하다. 그러므로 우리가 영원한 언약을 잡는 것이 얼마나 귀중한지 모른다.
2. 영원하신 아들
1) 영원한 언약
히 1:12 의복처럼 갈아입을 것이요 그것들은 옷과 같이 변할 것이나 주는 여전하여 연대가 다함이 없으리라 하였으나
이 말씀은 이 세상에 있는 모든 만물은 의복처럼 다 갈아입게될 것이라는 말이다. 예수님께서 재림하여 오실 때 이루어지는 새 하늘과 새 땅까지 계속 낡아져서 없어질 것이라는 말이다. 그런데 주는 여전하여 연대가 다함이 없다고 말씀하신다. 하나님의 아들은 영원하신 분이라는 말씀이다. 하나님의 아들이 영원하시다는 것은 하나님의 말씀, 언약도 영원하다는 것을 나타낸다. 다시 말씀드리면 언약의 말씀은 반드시 성취되고 있다는 사실이다.
사 40:8 풀은 마르고 꽃은 시드나 우리 하나님의 말씀은 영원히 서리라 하라
바로 말씀도 영이기 때문에 영원하다는 것이다. 구약시대에 말씀을 잡은 사람들은 큰 역사를 일으켰다. 그 사람은 하나님께서 주신 언약의 말씀을 붙잡고 그 말씀대로 살았더니 엄청난 역사가 일어났다. 신약성경을 보게되면 신약성경에 있었던 사람들도 구약의 말씀을 붙잡았을때 똑같은 역사가 일어났다. 또 우리도 그 성경에 기록된 말씀을 언약으로 붙잡을 때 똑같은 역사가 나타난다. 이 말씀이 살았다는 것이다.
합 2:4 보라 그의 마음은 교만하며 그 속에서 정직하지 못하나 의인은 그의 믿음으로 말미암아 살리라
이 유다가 멸망당할 위기에 처했다. 바벨론에 의해서 비참하게 죽을 위기에 처했다. 하박국 선지자는 외친다. 우리가 아무리 잘못했어도 어떻게 저렇게 사나운 바벨론에게 멸망당할 수 있겠습니까 하고 질문한다. 그 때 하나님께서 주신 말씀이 의인은 믿음으로 말미암아 살리라는 어마어마한 말씀을 주셨다. 의인은 반드시 하나님께서 지켜주시는구나. 그런데 이 말씀이 사도바울이 붙잡고 응답을 받았다.
롬 1:17 복음에는 하나님의 의가 나타나서 믿음으로 믿음에 이르게 하나니 기록된 바 오직 의인은 믿음으로 말미암아 살리라 함과 같으니라
이 말씀은 사도바울의 신앙의 핵심적인 말씀인 것을 알 수 있다. 누구든지 흑암에 빠져있는 자는 믿음으로 말미암아 살게될 것이라는 말이다. 그래서 누구든지 믿기만 하게되면 하나님 자녀되는 축복을 누리게 될 것이다. 하박국서에서 하박국에게 응답주신 것을 사도바울이 잡아서 세계복음화하는데 사용했다. 이 말씀을 루터가 다시 잡았다. 중세시대에 카톨릭에 의해서 수많은 사람들이 고통당했다. 복음이 완전히 사라진 시대였다. 이럴 때 루터가 다시 잡은 말씀이 의인은 믿음으로 말미암아 살리라 하는 말씀이었다. 이 말씀을 잡았을 때 하나님께서는 루터에게 응답을 주셨다. 그래서 종교개혁에 승리할 수 있었던 비결이 이 말씀이었다. 그렇기 때문에 우리가 언약을 잡는 것이 얼마나 중요한지 모른다. 다시 한 번 말씀을 붙잡아야겠다. 항상 성취될 언약을 반드시 잡아야한다.
2) 항상 성취될 언약
욥이 많은 고통을 당하게된다. 그 욥이 그 고통 가운데서 빠져나올 수 있었던 비밀에 성경에서 찾아볼 수 있다. 그것은 바로 그리스도의 언약이다.
욥 16:19 지금 나의 증인이 하늘에 계시고 나의 중보자가 높은 데 계시니라
이것은 욥은 이미 자기의 증인, 중보자되신 선지자 되신 그리스도께서 계신 것을 붙잡았던 것이다. 예수님께서 이 땅에 오시기 전에 이 언약을 잡고 있었다.
욥 19:25 내가 알기에는 나의 대속자가 살아 계시니 마침내 그가 땅 위에 서실 것이라
놀랍게도 욥은 고통 가운데서 나의 대속자되시는 참 제사장 되시는 그 분이 마침내 십자가에 서실 것이라는 것을 붙잡았다.
욥 36:7 그의 눈을 의인에게서 떼지 아니하시고 그를 왕들과 함께 왕좌에 앉히사 영원토록 존귀하게 하시며
어마어마한 놀라운 말씀이다. 믿음을 가진 이 의인들은 반드시 끝까지 인도하신다는 것이다. 상속자되는 축복, 왕좌에 이르는 축복을 받게될 것이라는 것을 말씀했다. 이 그리스도의 언약을 잡으니까 욥은 모든데서 해방을 받았다. 하나님의 말씀이라는 것은, 언약이라는 것은 과거 현재 미래에 다 적용되는 귀한 말씀이라는 것이다. 그러면 우리가 승리의 언약을 붙잡아야겠다.
3. 영원하신 언약
1) 승리의 언약
히 1:13 어느 때에 천사 중 누구에게 내가 네 원수로 네 발등상이 되게 하기까지 너는 내
우편에 앉아 있으라 하셨느냐
여기서는 네 원수라 하는 것은 하나님의 형상을 가진 인간을 타락시킨자 사단을 말한다. 그가 멸망당할 때 까지 네가 내 우편에 앉아있으라고 말씀하신다. 이것은 하나님께서 기뻐하시면서 하시는 말씀인 것을 볼 수 있다. 왜냐하면 아들되신 예수님께서 성자 하나님께서 십자가 사역을 완성시키시고 난 후에 기쁘셔서 아들에게 주신 말씀이다. 하늘과 땅의 모든 권세를 다 주시고 최고의 자리에 앉히시면서 하신 말씀이다. 너는 그동안에 충성된 일을 했으니까 앉아있어라, 이제 내가 하겠다는 말씀이다. 하나님께서는 성령을 통해서 구원사역을 완성시켜 나가신다. 그러면 주님께서는 보좌 우편에서 가만히 앉아계시는가.
시 2:9 네가 철장으로 그들을 깨뜨림이여 질그릇 같이 부수리라 하시도다
우리 주님께서는 보좌에만 가만히 앉아계신 것이 아니라 권세를 가지시고 인간의 세가지 저주를 해결하신다. 사단을 멸하시고 재앙을 해결하시고 지옥권세를 해결해주시는 역사를 이루가시고 있다.
막 16:20 제자들이 나가 두루 전파할새 주께서 함께 역사하사 그 따르는 표적으로 말씀을 확실히 증언하시니라
보좌에서 행하시는 모습이 보여진다. 주님께서 보좌에 앉으셔서 말씀을 확실히 증언하셨다. 우리가 언약을 잡는 것이 얼마나 귀중한지 모른다. 그러면 여기서 붙잡아야겠다. 이 언약의 축복을 누가 누리게 되는가.
2) 언약잡은 자의 축복
너무나 간단하다. 언약을 잡는 자가 축복받는다. 강단의 말씀 붙잡는 자가 받게된다. 성경에서 이런 예가 너무나 많다. 이번에 기도수첩에도 아주 자세히 봤었다. 요셉의 경우를 보더라도 하나님께서 주신 언약을 잡는 순간서 부터 승리했다. 감옥소도 갈 수 있었다. 노예로 잡힐 수도 있었다. 그것이 문제가 되지 않았다. 결국은 모든 것을 승리하고 총리가 되고 세계복음화의 주역이 되었다. 다윗도 마찬가지이다. 언약을 잡는 순간서부터 승리했다. 골리앗을 만나도 두려워하지 않았다. 사울왕이 자기를 죽이려고 찾아다니는데도 두려워하지 않았다. 왜냐하면 하나님이 주신 언약을 잡고 있었기 때문에. 언약만 잡은 그것이 나에게 그대로 역사로 나타난다. 요 19:30 말씀에 예수님께서 십자가 상에서 다 이루었다고 말씀하셨다. 그렇다면 우리에게는 모든게 이미 끝난 것이다. 이번에 기도수첩에서도 이야기했다. 깃발만 꽂으면 된다. 깃발만 꽂으면 끝나는 것이다. 사도바울은 수많은 곳을 다녔다. 사도바울이 한 것은 아무것도 없다. 가서 깃발만 꽂았던 것이다. 그러니까 그 지역이 하나님 나라로 변해버렸다. 뿐만 아니다.
히 1:14 모든 천사들은 섬기는 영으로서 구원 받을 상속자들을 위하여 섬기라고 보내심이 아니냐
언약잡은 자들에게는 하나님께서 천사들은 보내서 말씀을 성취하도록 하신다. 천사라는 것은 상속자를 섬기는 존재인 것을 볼 수 있다. 그런데 우리는 십자가, 그리스도 때문에 함께 상속자가 되었다. 같이 함께 상속자된 우리도 천사들은 섬기는 존재이다. 그럼 우리가 언약만 잡으면 되는 것이다. 하나님께서 보좌에서 역사하시고 천사를 통해서 역사하신다. 결단만 하면 된다. 바로 우리가 어려움을 당할 때 위기 가운데서 최고의 응답이 시작된다.
마 11:12 세례 요한의 때부터 지금까지 천국은 침노를 당하나니 침노하는 자는 빼앗느니라
천국은 침노하는 것이라고 이야기한다. 침노하는 것이 무엇인가. 바로 내가 언약을 잡는 것이다. 언약을 잡는 그 순간에 하나님 나라가 임한다. 언약을 잡는 그 순간에 모든 흑암이 무너지고 모든 역사가 이루어지면서 천국이 임한다. 그러므로 언약을 잡는 자는 이삭처럼 100년의 응답을 받는다. 분명히 언약잡고 기도하게 되면 김준곤 목사님 말씀처럼 크고 은밀한 일을 하나님께서 보여주시는 축복의 역사가 나타날 줄로 믿는다.
결론
욥 23:10 그러나 내가 가는 길을 그가 아시나니 그가 나를 단련하신 후에는 내가 순금 같이 되어 나오리라
고통 가운데서 그리스도를 붙잡고 해방을 받았던 욥이 한 이야기이다. 문제, 고통이 있는가. 전혀 문제될 것이 없다. 순금 같이 나오게 하기 위해서 문제를 준 것이다. 최고의 축복의 과정 가운데 들어가있다는 것을 확인하시기 바란다. 그 누구도 감당하지 못할 고통을 당하시는 분이 있는가. 언약을 잡는 순간에 최고의 축복으로 받게될 줄로 믿는다. 말씀 붙잡으시기 바란다. 언약을 잡는 순간에 축복은 시작된다. 이번 한 주간 큰 응답받으시기 바란다.
Angels Who Serve the Heirs (Hebrews 1:10-14)

“ 10 And: You, Lord, in the beginning laid the foundation of the earth, And the heavens are the work of Your hands. 11 They will perish, but You remain; And they will all grow old like a garment; 12 Like a cloak You will fold them up, And they will be changed. But You are the same, And Your years will not fail. 13 But to which of the angels has He ever said: 'Sit at My right hand, Till I make Your enemies Your footstool'? 14 Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation? ”
<Introduction>
I heard a testimony of a pastor named Kim Jun-gon of CCC. During the Korean War, his parents were killed by the communist party and ever since then, he continued to pray for his country of South Korea. He prayed that his country will believe in God and will be able to do world evangelization. I believe that his prayers were very sincere. I know this person as someone who really loves his country. God who heard his sincere prayers answered his prayers. In the midst of his prayers, he prayed a voice of God telling him that he will get rid of Kim Jung-Il. Another voice that he heard was that God was going to kill former president, president Roh Moo-hyun. Do not worry about this nation of South Korea but God will raise up this nation that does world missions and I will bless Korea. After the pastor received these answers, he wondered what these answers meant. After he received these answers, he heard the news that Kim Jong-Il passed away and also former South Korean president, Ron Moo-hyun passed away by committing suicide. He was really surprised when he heard these events on the news because it was so similar to his dream. When I heard this, I wondered what prayer is. Prayer is a time where we may not see the spiritual world at works with our physical eyes but it is a time for us to communicate with God. Prayer is a time where we can form a personal relationship with God and meet our Creator. There is something that really hit my heart. God chose Korea and determined to use Korea for His great plan for world evangelism. We are holding onto the prayer topic of saving 237 nations and I truly believe that this prayer topic will be answered. I have assurance of this. Jesus Christ is still alive, sitting at the right hand of God, and is with us. It is important for us to know who Jesus Christ is and know who the Son of God is. We continued to hear about the Son of God, Jesus Christ though the book of Hebrews. Through today’s scripture, there is an astounding message given to us.
1. The Eternal Power
1) Creation of Heaven and earth
Verse 10 - In the beginning - This is talking about time. When God created all things, He created time and space. In the midst of that space, He created the sky, stars, land, and all animals. When creation started, God created time and that is when time started. Jesus Christ who is the Son of God, He controls time and space. There is something that we must confirm here. Why did God create time and space?
Isaiah 43:7 (“Everyone who is called by My name, Whom I have created for My glory; I have formed him, yes, I have made him.”) - He created all things to be glorified. He created all stars, the universe, and animals to be glorified. But why did God need to be glorified? This core of God’s glory is found within God’s creation of mankind. God poured down His great blessings upon mankind. He blessed mankind to have dominion and authority over all the land and earth. God being glorified means that mankind who were created in God’s image, received the blessing to enjoy all of the blessings that God has given to man.
But a problem arose as seen in Revelation 12:9 (“So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.”) - Darkness that was outside of time and space but within the third dimension, Satan, disturbed and interfered with God’s glory. But Jesus Christ came down to Earth to destroy the powers of Satan by dying on the cross and to restore His glory. If you believe in the Son of God, you will restore the image of God. This is the works that took place that restored the image of God.
2) Spiritual world
Verse 11 - “They will perish, but You remain” - All things on this earth will perish eventually in the end. But it says that Jesus Christ will remain. Why would the Lord remain? It is because He is outside of time and space. This is because He is the one who created time and space. He is the One who resides outside time and space. There are people who suffer from spiritual problems. These people are suffering due to spiritual disturbance that is not seen with our visible eyes. There are people who are children of shamans and these children receive the prophesy that they will become their mothers and receive their spirit but this there was a particular child who did not want to become a shaman so she ran away to America. But when she ran away from America, she still became a shaman in America. This means that the evil spirits do not remain and stay in Korea but it follows wherever Satan can work, which is anywhere on this earth. That is why we must understand and examine what spiritual problems are. How can we solve spiritual problems? In order to heal and solve the spiritual suffering of mankind, Jesus Christ died on the cross and resurrected. People may say that the event of the cross was 2,000 years ago but people are not understanding things spiritually. The spiritual world exists outside of time and space. This means that when Jesus Christ died on the cross, it doesn’t impact merely the past. The event of the cross impacts the past, present, and future. This is because within Jesus Christ there is no time and space that restricts Him. That is why, whoever believes in Christ and accepts Him in their hearts, then they will be saved. That is why Jesus Christ is so precious. We need to hold onto the eternal covenant.
2. The Eternal Son
1) The eternal Covenant
Verse 12 - This shows that all creation will be changed like an old cloak. Until Jesus Christ comes back for His second coming to form the new Earth and Heaven, the cloak will continued to be changed and disappear. But it says in this verse that Jesus Christ will remain the same and His years will not fail. What does this mean? Jesus Christ, the Son of God is eternal. This shows that God’s Word and the covenant are eternal. In other words, the covenant of God will absolutely be fulfilled.
Isaiah 40:8 (“The grass withers, the flower fades, But the Word of our God stands forever.”) - What does this mean? The Word is Spirit which means the Word of God is eternal. Those who held onto the Word of God in the Old Testament, great works took place for them. The held onto the Word that God gave to them and great works took place for them. In the New Testament, when they held onto the covenant given in the Old Testament, great works took place for them as well. If we also hold onto the Word of God given in the Bible, then great works will take place for us. This shows that God’s Word is living and alive.
Habakkuk2:4 (“Behold the proud, His soul is not upright in him; But the just shall live by his faith.”) - This Word was given before the land of Judah was destroyed. They experienced an event that completely destroyed the land of Judah. They were pleading and praying to God complaining on how the land of Babylon was going to destroy His people but God proclaimed His Word, “The just shall live by his faith.” This is so true. Those who are just and righteous, they will live by faith.
Apostle Paul also spoke this same Word in Romans 1:17 (“For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, 'The just shall live by faith.' ”) - Apostle Paul spoke of these words as the core of his faith and messages. Anyone who has fallen, they will live if they believe. If you just believe, then you will receive the blessing to become children of God. This was the same answer that was given in the book of Habakkuk and Paul was holding onto it as well. But Martin Luther also held onto the same message when the Catholic Church was oppressing Christians and the gospel was disappearing. But Luther held onto the same word that the righteous will live by faith. When he held onto this Word, God answered him according to this Word. He received the answer to become victorious against the religious opposition and started the religious reformation movement. That is why it is so important for us to hold onto the covenant and Word of God. When we hold onto the Word of God that will absolutely be fulfilled.
2) The covenant that will always be fulfilled
Let me give you an example through Job. Job went through a lot of suffering and problems. Through problems, Job held onto the mystery that helped him come out of his bondage of problem and sufferings as seen in the Bible. Job held onto the covenant of Jesus Christ, the Messiah that would come.
Job 16:19 (“Surely even now my witness is in heaven, And my evidence is on high.”) - Job held onto the covenant of Jesus Christ as the mediator even before His coming to Earth. He held onto this covenant even before Jesus Christ came down to Earth.
Job 19:25 (“For I know that my Redeemer lives, And He shall stand at last on the earth.”) - What is astounding is that in the midst of problems, Job held onto the Jesus Christ as his redeemer, his true priest.
Job 36:7 (“He does not withdraw His eyes from the righteous; But they are on the throne with kings, For He has seated them forever, And they are exalted.”) - This is astounding and amazing message. The righteous who live by faith will ultimately be victorious in the end. When he held onto the Jesus Christ, he was able to be victorious against all of his problems and suffering. This shows that Jesus Christ and His presence as well as His Words are applicable and powerful to the past, present, and future of mankind and in our lives. If that is so, we must hold onto the covenant of victory.
3. The Eternal Covenant
1) The covenant of victory
Verse 13 - The enemy is referring to Satan who made mankind fall into destruction. “Sit at My right hand, Till I make Your enemies Your footstool’ ” - This was what made God really happy. This was because Jesus Christ, His Son would fulfill His work on the cross. Jesus Christ died on the cross, resurrected, and received all authority and power and is now sitting at the right hand of God’s throne. Through the Holy Spirit, God completed the work of salvation. Does this mean that Jesus Christ is just sitting at the right hand of God and not doing anything?
Psalm 2:9 (“You shall break them with a rod of iron; You shall dash them to pieces like a potter’s vessel.”) - He is siting at the right hand of God and completing the work of breaking down the three curses constantly. He has constantly completing the work of breaking down Satan, curses, and power of hell.
Mark 16:20 (“And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word through the accompanying signs. Amen.”) - He is sitting at the right hand of God and proclaiming the Word of God. That is why it is so important for us to hold onto the covenant.
2) The blessing of those who take hold of the covenant
Who can enjoy the blessings of the covenant? Who can receive the blessing of the covenant? It is so simple. For those who hold onto the covenant will receive blessings. Those who hold onto the pulpit message will be blessed. This message was given in the past remnant prayer journal message. It talked about how Joseph was victorious even in the midst of his suffering and problems. He was in slavery and prison but none of that was a problem for him. In the end, he was able to overcome all things and became a governor. The same thing occurred with King David. The moment David held onto the covenant, he was victorious. It didn’t matter if he met Goliath or was chased after King Saul to be killed. This was because David held onto the covenant. If you just hold onto the covenant then the same works that took place in the history of the Bible will take place for you.
John 19:30 (“So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, 'It is finished!' And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit.”) - You need to plant the victory of the flag. If you just place the flag down, then it is finished. Paul went to all nations but all he did was plant the flag wherever he went. Wherever he planted the flag, that nation received salvation.
Verse 14 - Whoever holds onto the covenant, God will send His angels to carry out and complete His work. Angels do the work of ministering to God’s Word. Because of Jesus Christ lives within us, we are also heirs of God. We are heirs who the angels also ministers to. This means that all we need to do is hold onto His covenant. He is working through the angels. Whenever we face a problem, it is the start of the greatest answers.
Hold onto Matthew 11:12 (“And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force.”) - What is this violence by force? It is when we hold onto God’s covenant. The moment you hold onto the covenant, the kingdom of God will be established. The moment you hold onto the covenant, all darkness will be bound and God’s kingdom will be established. If that is so, if we hold onto God’s covenant, then we will receive the answer of 100 years worth of blessings like Isaac. May we receive the blessing of great and unsearchable blessings which we do not know.
<Conclusion>
Job 23:10 (“But He knows the way that I take; When He has tested me, I shall come forth as gold.”) - This was the message that Job held onto when he went through the greatest suffering and problems in his life. Are you in the midst of problems? It is not a problem at all. God has given you a problem so that you can come out forth as gold. This means that all problems are given to us to give us the greatest answers. The suffering and problems that no one can handle and understand, the moment you hold onto the covenant, then those problems will be changed to answers. May you hold onto the Word of God. The moment you hold onto the Word of God, the greatest answers and blessings will start for you.
