“창세전에 숨겨두신 교회의 비밀"

네 눈을 들어 사방을 보라 무리가 다 모여 네게로 오느니라 네 아들들은 먼 곳에서 오겠고 네 딸들은 안기어 올 것이라 5 그 때에 네가 보고 기쁜 빛을 내며 네 마음이 놀라고 또 화창하리니 이는 바다의 부가 네게로 돌아오며 이방 나라들의 재물이 네게로 옴이라 6 허다한 낙타, 미디안과 에바의 어린 낙타가 네 가운데에 가득할 것이며 스바 사람들은 다 금과 유향을 가지고 와서 여호와의 찬송을 전파할 것이며 7 게달의 양 무리는 다 네게로 모일 것이요 느바욧의 숫양은 네게 공급되고 내 제단에 올라 기꺼이 받음이 되리니 내가 내 영광의 집을 영화롭게 하리라 8 저 구름 같이, 비둘기들이 그 보금자리로 날아가는 것 같이 날아오는 자들이 누구냐 9 곧 섬들이 나를 앙망하고 다시스의 배들이 먼저 이르되 먼 곳에서 네 자손과 그들의 은금을 아울러 싣고 와서 네 하나님 여호와의 이름에 드리려 하며 이스라엘의 거룩한 이에게 드리려 하는 자들이라 이는 내가 너를 영화롭게 하였음이라 (사60:4-9)
서론
제가 어떤 기도하는 분의 간증을 봤다. 그가 이야기 하기를 “내가 청년 시절에는 세상을 변화시켜 달라 하나님께 기도했다. 중년이 되어서는 내 이웃을 변화시키게 해달라고 기도했다. 70세가 된 나는 오직 하나님이여, 나를 변화 시켜 주옵소서 기도 하고 있다.” 참 의미있는 내용이다. 기독교인들은 처음엔 세상을 변화시켜달라 기도한다. 그리고 내 이웃을 변화 시켜 주옵소서, 친구를 변화시켜 주옵소서, 친척을 변화시켜 주옵소서 부르짖으며 기도한다. 참 중요한 기도들이다. 그런데 이분이 70이 지나 느낀것은 무엇보다 자신을 먼저 변화 시켜달라는 기도의 중요성이다. 저는 이 기도 내용을 가지고 묵상을 해보았다. 사실 이 세가지 모든 기도가 우리에게 필요한 것이다. 그렇다면 그 세가지를 아울러 함께 기도를 드리는게 무엇인가 생각 해봤다. 결론이 하나님께서 우리에게 주신 777 기도를 하는것이다 라고 나왔다. 777 기도는 얼마나 감사한 기도인지 모른다. 김완식 목사님이 777 기도 책자를 보내주셨다. 저번에 강단에서 우리 중직자들을 위해 준비 했다 하셨다. 제가 받아서 읽어보니 너무나도 내용이 좋다. 아쉬운점은 영문으로 된 버전이 없다는 사실이다. 모두 나눠드릴테니 붙잡고 은혜 받고 축복 받으시기를 바란다. 우리에게 이렇게 귀한 기도문 이라든지 모든 것을 주신것을 생각하면 우리가 얼마나 큰 은혜를 받았는가 참 감사하다.
1. 하나님의 예정 God's predestination
1) 참 성전의 비밀 The mystery of the true temple
사 Isaiah 60:4
롬 Romans 16:25
오늘도 하나님께서 우리에게 너무나 중요한 메시지를 주셨다. 제가 이 말씀 받으며 한동한 멍한 기분까지 들었다. 그래서 오늘 제목을 창세전에 숨겨두신 교회의 비밀 이라 잡았다. 4절 말씀부터 보겠다, “네 눈을 들어 사방을 보라 무리가 다 모여 네게로 오느니라 네 아들들은 먼 곳에서 오겠고 네 딸들은 안기어 올 것이라”. 먼저 우리가 잡을것은 이스라엘 백성들은 언약의 백성 이라는 사실이다. 하나님께서는 아브라함 통해 언약 주셨는데 네 후손을 천 대 까지 축복 주시겠다 했다. 또 다윗 통해서도 언약 주셨다. 그래서 네 후손, 후대의 왕들을 영원히 세울것이다 라고 하셨다. 그런데 이게 왠 일인가. 형제 국가였던 북이스라엘이 완전히 앗수르에 멸망 된것이다. 뿐만 아니라 남유다 왕국 까지도 바벨론에 멸망 당하고 성전히 완전히 무너진것이다. 이 결과를 마주하게 된 이스라엘 백성들은 하나님이 정말 계신가, 하나님이 정말 우리 하나님이 맞는가 생각했다. 그래서 절망하고 하나님을 떠나는 사람이 생겼다. 그 중에서도 이것은 우리의 죄악 때문에 그런것이다 회개 하며 하나님을 따라가는 사람이 있었다. 포로 생활 하는 가운데 두 부류의 사람이 있던것이다. 그런데 하나님께서 말씀 주신것이다, “네 눈을 들어 사방을 보라 무리가 다 모여 네게로 오느니라”. 이 말씀 그대로 성취되어 이들이 실질적으로 이스라엘로 돌아오게 된것이다. 그래서 지난 시간에 말씀 드렸듯 성전을 먼저 지었다. 하나님께서 성전 건축 하며 이전 보다 더 큰 영광을 주겠다 성전을 지으라 하셨다. 그런데 이상한것은 성전을 완성 시켰음에도 법궤가 없었던것이다. 그리고 하나님께서 법궤를 만들라는 말씀도 없었다. 포로로 들어온 다윗의 왕가들도 다시 돌아왔다. 그러면 왕을 세워야 할텐데 왕도 세우시지 않는것이다. 그러면서 하시는 말씀이 “네 눈을 들어 사방을 보라 무리가 다 모여 네게로 오느니라 네 아들들은 먼 곳에서 오겠고 네 딸들은 안기어 올 것이라” 이 말은 하나님께 예배 드리고 제사 드리기 위해 돌아온다 라는 말이다. 이것은 돌로 지은 성전이 아니라 예수 그리스도를 통해 세워질 교회를 뜻한 것이다. 지금 회개하라는 말씀 계속 주시면서 이런 메시지를 주신것이다. 회개 하는 자, 영접 하는 자에게 줄 축복을 말씀 하시는것이다. 로마서 16:25 말씀 보게되면, “나의 복음과 예수 그리스도를 전파함은 영세 전부터 감추어졌다가”. 사도바울이 이야기 한 것이 창세전의 예비된것은 교회의 비밀, 구원의 비밀을 말하는 것이다 라는 것이다. 구원 받은 자들이 돌아오는 이야기이다.
2) 교회의 축복 The blessing of the church
사 Isaiah 60:5
마 Matthew 16:18-19
그들이 와서 드릴 예배를 말씀 하는것이 5절에 나와있다. “그 때에 네가 보고 기쁜 빛을 내며 네 마음이 놀라고 또 화창하리니 이는 바다의 부가 네게로 돌아오며 이방 나라들의 재물이 네게로 옴이라” 예배를 드리러 오는데 기쁜 빛을 내며 오는것이다. 마음이 막 놀랍고 화창하다고 한것이다. 오늘 예배 드리러 오시면서 이러한 마음으로 오셨나. 오늘은 하나님이 어떤 말씀 주실까 기쁜 마음으로 기대 하시면서 오셨나. 여기서 기쁜 빛을 낸다는 것은 기쁨이 넘쳐 흐르는것을 표현한다. 성령 충만한 상태를 나타내는 것이다. 여기서 놀랍고 화창하다고 하는것은 모든 흑암에 막혀있던 구름이 걷히면서 화창해 지는 것을 말한다. 다시 말해 찾아온 모든 사람에게 주신 하나님의 축복이 모든 흑암이 물러가게 하시는것이다. 그것이 바로 교회를 통해 주신 축복이다. 바로 “주는 그리스도시요 살아계신 하나님의 아들이시나이다” 고백 하는 자들에게 주시는 축복이다. 마태복음 16:18,
“또 내가 네게 이르노니 너는 베드로라 내가 이 반석 위에 내 교회를 세우리니 음부의 권세가 이기지 못하리라 19 내가 천국 열쇠를 네게 주리니 네가 땅에서 무엇이든지 매면 하늘에서도 매일 것이요 네가 땅에서 무엇이든지 풀면 하늘에서도 풀리리라 하시고”, 다시 말해 천국의 보화를 너희에게 부어주겠다 이말이다. 하늘의 참 보화가 뭔지 깨닫게 해주는 축복이 너희에게 임할것이다 이 말이다. 찾아오는 사람들이 이 보화를 깨닫게 되는것이다. 5절 마지막 부분에, “이는 바다의 부가 네게로 돌아오며 이방 나라들의 재물이 네게로 옴이라” 바다에서 무역 하던 국가들은 우상숭배를 많이 했다. 세상이 너무나 좋고 부와 재물이 너무 좋아 그것만을 찾던 사람들이 바로 그들이다. 그 사람들이 교회로 온다는 것이다. 참 그리스도의 가치를 깨달은 사람들은 완전히 관점이 변한다는 사실이다. 천국 열쇠를 쥐는 순간에 어떤 축복이 있다 하는것을 깨닫는 순간 이 고백을 하지 않을수가 없는 것이다. “이방 나라들의 재물이 네게로 옴이라”. 성전을 짓기 위해 이스라엘 백성들이 갖은 고생을 다 했다. 이제는 교회가 세워져 이방 나라 사람들이 세워지고 교회가 이루어질것임을 나타내는 것이다. 6절, “허다한 낙타, 미디안과 에바의 어린 낙타가 네 가운데에 가득할 것이며” 낙타 라 함은 중동지방의 이동수단으로 사용 되었다. 에바의 어린 낙타가 네 가운데에 가득할 것 이라는 뜻은 많은 이들이 오게 될것이라는 뜻이다. 특히 어린 낙타가 많이 온다는 말은 어린 렘넌트들도 많이 오게 될것이라는 말로 해석 할수 있겠다. 지금도 미국 전역 모든 하나님의 자녀들이 차를 몰고 교회로 몰려든다. 스바 사람들은 다 금과 유황을 가져와서 여호와의 찬송을 전파할 것이다” 라고 말하고 있다. 스바 사람들은 에디오페아에 있던 옛날 왕국을 말한다. 여기서 금과 유황을 가져온다는 말은 마치 동방박사가 예수님 만나러 올때 금과 유황을 가지고 왔을때 처럼 가장 귀한것, 가장 귀한 예물을 하나님께 바쳤다는 의미이다. 그리스도의 구원에 감사하며 예물을 바친것이다. 그러면서 여호와의 찬송을 전파 할 것이라 말씀했다. 그리스도의 십자가의 구원을 찬양 한 것이다. 영적 예배를 마음을 다해 드리는 모습이다.
2. 교회의 비밀 The mystery of the church
1) 영적 예배의 축복 The blessing of spiritual worship
사 Isaiah 60:6-7
롬 Romans 12:1
7절 말씀 보면, “게달의 양 무리는 다 네게로 모일 것이요 느바욧의 숫양은 네게 공급되고 내 제단에 올라 기꺼이 받음이 되리니 내가 내 영광의 집을 영화롭게 하리라” 하고 말씀한다. 여기 게달이나 느바욧은 바로 이스마엘의 후손을 나타낸다. 다시 말해 이방인들이 무엇을 가지고 오는가, 양 무리와 숫 양을 가지고 온다는 말이다. 이는 이들이 하나님 앞에 속죄 제물을 드리기 위해 제물을 가지고 온다는 뜻이다. 교회에 속죄 제물을 가지고 온다는 말은 바로 회개의 제물을 나타내는 것이다. 바로 예수 그리스도 통해 회개의 역사를 이루는 것이다. 예수님을 영접 하는것을 나타낸다. 그래서 요한복음 4:23 말씀 보면 주님께서 하신 말씀이다, “아버지께 참되게 예배 하는 자들은 영과 진리로 예배할 때가 오나니 곧 이 때라 아버지께서는 자기에게 이렇게 예배하는 자들을 찾으시느니라". 우리는 더이상 제물이 필요 없고 그리스도가 십자가 통해 허락하신 생명의 축복 누리면서 믿음으로 고백 하는 것이다. “내 생명의 주인은 바로 주님 이십니다” 고백 하며 예배 드리는 것이다. 이렇게 예배 하는 곳이 바로 교회라는 말이다. 그래서 하나님께서 말씀 하신다, “내가 네 영광의 집을 영화롭게 하리라". 영적 예배 드릴때 하나님이 기뻐 받으신다는 말이다. 네 영광의 집을 영화롭게 한다는 것은 교회 모이는 성도들을 축복 하신다는 의미가 있다는 사실이다. 예배에 참여하는 모든 성도들을 하나님께서 축복 하신다는 말이다. 영과 진리, 말씀과 영으로 예배 드리는 모든 백성들에게 하나님께서 영화롭게 하는 약속을 하신것이다. 여러분, 하나님께서 여러분을 영화롭게 하시면 모든것은 끝난 것이다. 그래서 가장 큰 축복은 하나님이 날 영화롭게 하셨다는 사실이다. 이것이 바로 예배를 통해 온다는 사실이다.
2) 전도와 선교의 축복 Blessing of evangelism and missions
사 Isaiah 60:8-9
계속해서 말씀 하신다, 8절, “저 구름 같이, 비둘기들이 그 보금자리로 날아가는 것 같이 날아오는 자들이 누구냐”. 교회로 사람들이 몰려오는 것을 나타내는 것이다. 소나기 구름떼 몰려오듯 사람들이 몰려오는 것을 표현한것이다. 비둘기들이 그 보금자리로 날아가는 것 같이 라고 했다. 여러분, 비둘기들은 항상 자기 집에 찾아온다. 잊었던 그 생명을 찾고 나니 우리 집이 바로 교회 였구나 이걸 깨닫고 돌아오는 것이다. 교회의 역사를 보면 실질적으로 전세계적으로 이런 일들이 있었다. 9절, “곧 섬들이 나를 앙망하고 다시스의 배들이 먼저 이르되 먼 곳에서 네 자손과 그들의 은금을 아울러 싣고 와서 네 하나님 여호와의 이름에 드리려 하며 이스라엘의 거룩한 이에게 드리려 하는 자들이라 이는 내가 너를 영화롭게 하였음이라” 여기서 섬들이 나를 앙망하고 라는 부분은 하나님이 친히 말씀하신 말로 섬들은 전세계를 나타낸다. 전세계 모든 족속들이 하나님을 앙망하게 된다는 말이다. 전세계에 이런 현상이 나타날것이다 라는 말이다. 참 생명을 받은 자들이 여호와를 앙망하며 예배 드린다는 말이다. 모든 관심이 교회에 향한다는 말이다. 그런데 놀라운 말씀 나타난다, “다시스의 배들이 먼저 이르되 먼 곳에서 네 자손과 그들의 은금을 아울러 싣고 와서 네 하나님 여호와의 이름에 드리려 하며” 다시스의 배들은 전 지중해를 다니며 무역을 통해 부를 축적했다. 돈을 벌기위해 돌아다니던 배들이 자식과 은금을 싣고 온다는 말이다. 이 자손은 은혜받은 하나님의 자녀들을 나타낸다. 그들이 배를 타고 멀리서 예배하러 온다는 말이다. 먼나라 다니며 돈을 벌러 다니던 배들이 전도하는 배, 선교하는 배로 바뀌는 것이다. 세계복음화 하는 배로 바뀐것을 볼수있다. 중요한 부분 나타난다, “은금을 아울러 싣고 와서 네 하나님 여호와의 이름을 드리려 하며”. 이 말이 무슨 말인가. 바로 주여호와의 이름이 선포 되는 곳에 바로 예배가 이루어진다 라는 말이다. 다시 말해 각 나라, 지역에 교회가 세워짐으로 여호와의 이름이 선포될 것 임을 말한다. 그러니까 예루살렘 한 곳으로 모이는 것이 아니라 전 나라 전 지역에 예수그리스도의 이름이 선포되는 곳 마다 교회가 세워지는데 각자 그 교회로 찾아가는 모습이다. “이는 내가 너를 영화롭게 하였음이라.” 이것은 인간들의 노력이 아닌 전적이 하나님의 영화롭게 하심 이라는 말이다. 우리가 받은 구원도 하나님의 은혜 이지만 전도 하는것도 하나님의 은혜이다. 교회의 축복은 바로 나를 전도자로 세우셨다는 사실 자체이다. 전도자의 축복은 바로 하나님께서 우리를 영화롭게 하셨기에 받을수 있는것이다. 우리가 예배를 들을때도 하나님이 영화롭게 하신다. 전도 할때도 우리를 영화롭게 하신다. 우리는 축복 받을 수 밖에 없는 위치에 있다는 것을 알수가있다. 모두 교회를 통한 축복이다.
3. 꼭 알아야할 비밀 The mystery that you must know
1) 하나님의 능력 God's power
고전 1 Corinthians 2:2, 5
그것을 위해 꼭 알아야 할 것이 있다. 먼저 우리가 하나님의 능력을 알아야겠다. 고전 2:2, “내가 너희 중에서 예수 그리스도와 그가 십자가에 못 박히신 것 외에는 아무 것도 알지 아니하기로 작정하였음이라” 모든 문제의 해답은 그리스도의 십자가에 있다는 사실이다. “너희 믿음이 사람의 지혜에 있지 아니하고 다만 하나님의 능력에 있게 하려 하였노라” 그리스도의 능력의 십자가를 붙잡을때 그 능력이 우리 삶에 나타난다.
2) 하나님의 감추인 것 What God has hidden
고전 1 Corinthians 2:7
고린도전서 2:7, “오직 은밀한 가운데 있는 하나님의 지혜를 말하는 것으로서 곧 감추어졌던 것인데 하나님이 우리의 영광을 위하여 만세 전에 미리 정하신 것이라”., 만세전에 정하신 것이 무엇인가. 우리의 구원의 비밀이다. 나같은 사람이 창세전부터 예정되어 구원 받으신것이다. 성령의 능력을 알아야겠다.
3) 성령의 능력 The power of the Holy Spirit
고전 1 Corinthians 2:12
고전 2:12, “우리가 세상의 영을 받지 아니하고 오직 하나님으로부터 온 영을 받았으니 이는 우리로 하여금 하나님께서 우리에게 은혜로 주신 것들을 알게 하려 하심이라”. 전도 할때 구원의 능력이, 기도할때 치유의 능력이 나타난다. 꼭 붙잡으시라. 우리에게는 이러한 능력이 이미 주어졌다.
결론 Conclusion
롬 Romans 16:26
말씀 맺겟다. 로마서 16:26, “이제는 나타내신 바 되었으며 영원하신 하나님의 명을 따라 선지자들의 글로 말미암아 모든 민족이 믿어 순종하게 하시려고 알게 하신 바 그 신비의 계시를 따라 된 것이니 이 복음으로 너희를 능히 견고하게 하실” 지금 사도바울은 창세전의 비밀을 이야기 하는것이다. 그것이 이 땅에 실현 된것을 말한다. 이것은 교회의 비밀이다. 하나님께서 이 땅과 천지를 왜 창조 하셨나. 오늘 말씀 보게 되면, 교회를 세우기 위해 창조 하셨다. 교회가 뭔가. 예수님이 머리 되시고 우리가 지체 된다. 창조하신 목적이 주님과 우리가 한 몸이 되게 하기 위해서 라고 하셨다. 다시한번 우리의 가치관을 확인 하셔야겠다. 남이 아니다. 내가 슬퍼할때 하나님은 더 슬퍼 하신다. 내가 고통 받으면 하나님이 더 고통 받으신다. 주님께서는 내가 더 행복 하기를 원하신다. 어떻게 이런 축복 누릴수 있나. 하나님께서는 영과 진리로 예배할때 역사 하신다. 그 축복을 누리시기를 축원한다.
The Mystery of the Church Hidden Before Creation (Isaiah 60:4-9)

“4 Lift up your eyes and look about you: All assemble and come to you; your sons come from afar, and your daughters are carried on the hip. 5 Then you will look and be radiant, your heart will throb and swell with joy; the wealth on the seas will be brought to you, to you the riches of the nations will come. 6 Herds of camels will cover your land, young camels of Midian and Ephah. And all from Sheba will come, bearing gold and incense and proclaiming the praise of the Lord. 7 All Kedar’s flocks will be gathered to you, the rams of Nebaioth will serve you; they will be accepted as offerings on my altar, and I will adorn my glorious temple. 8 Who are these that fly along like clouds, like doves to their nests? 9 Surely the islands look to me; in the lead are the ships of Tarshish, bringing your children from afar, with their silver and gold, to the honor of the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, for he has endowed you with splendor.”
Introduction
I listened to a testimony of someone who prays. This person said that during his young years, he would pray to God that he could change the world. During his mid-years, he prayed to God that his neighbors and people around me would change. During his older years, I am praying to God that I can change. This is such meaningful content. For us as Christians, we would pray for the world to change. We would pray for our friends and family members to change. These are important prayer topics but this person in the end, prayed to God for God to change him. When I looked at these prayer topics, I meditated on them. To be honest, all of these prayer topics are prayer topics that we need. But I thought about what these prayer topics meant. In conclusion, God wants the 7 guideposts, 7 bartizans, and 7 journeys (7-7-7) prayer from us. The 7-7-7 prayer is a prayer of thanksgiving. A pastor sent me a booklet of 7-7-7 prayer. When I looked at it, I realized that the 7-7-7 prayer is so important. It is unfortunate that it is not translated yet. We will look into it so continue to receive a lot of grace from this prayer. When we look at prayer topics, I am grateful to God that we have received so much grace. Today, God has prepared for us an important message. When I received this message from God, I felt many things so that is why I made this title of this pulpit message.
1. God's Predestination
1) The mystery of the true temple
Verse 4 - We must hold onto that the Israelites were people of the covenant. Through Abraham, God gave him a covenant that he will bless his descendants. Through David, God gave him a covenant that He will raise up his future generations. When we look at the land of Israel, it was completely destroyed through Assyria. Not only that but it was also destroyed by Babylon. As a result, the temple of God was destroyed. The place where God would meet His people was destroyed. When all of this happened, the Israelites would question if God was truly alive. If God is truly alive, is God really on our side? The Israelites would resent God and many of them left God. Among them, there were some of them who would realize that it was due to their sins and repent before God. During their time of slavery, there were some Israelites who realized their sin. But God gave them a message. God told them to lift up their eyes and look. God said that all of them will gather. All of their children will gather together. This message was fulfilled in the end and the Israelites were able to return back to their homeland. The first thing that God did was restore His temple. God said that He will give His greatest glory through the reconstruction of His temple. But what was strange was that even though His temple was built, this temple did not have the ark of the covenant. What was strange was that God did not command for them to place the ark of the covenant within this temple. All of the Israelites and the people of David were able to return back to Israel. They had to raise a king but they did not. God said that the children of Israelites will return back to their land. The fact that they will return means that they will restore worship and sacrifice. What does all of this mean? This means that this temple was not talking about the physical temple but God will raise up the new church through Jesus Christ. God was telling His people to repent and raise up the church. God was telling them the blessings that will come to those who repent.
Romans 16:25 “Now to him who is able to establish you in accordance with my gospel, the message I proclaim about Jesus Christ, in keeping with the revelation of the mystery hidden for long ages past.” - Paul said that what was prepared before the creation of time was the mystery of worship. Children of God are able to give worship to God.
2) The blessing of the church
Verse 5 - When people come to worship, they will come with radiance. Your heart will start throbbing and filled with joy. Did you come to worship with this kind of heart and mindset? Did you come looking forward to the message that God has prepared for you? Filled with joy means that your heart is overfilled with joy. This means that you are being filled with the Holy Spirit. The radiance means that all darkness will flee when you restore worship. These are the blessings of worship. These are the blessings that will come to us through the church. These are the blessings that come to those who confess that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God.
Matthew 16:18-19 “And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it. 19 I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” - Through the church, God will give the blessing of the kingdom of God and tremendous treasures from heaven above. These are the blessings that will allow us to uncover the tremendous blessings that come from heaven above.
Verse 5 - The wealth on the seas means all of the nations and people that worship idols. They would only search after the riches of the world. These people will return back to church. Those who find true value in Christ, this is the influence that we have on this earth. These are the tremendous blessings that come to us as people of God. The Gentiles and the riches of nations will come to us. As the Israelites were building the temple, they suffered a lot. But the churches were made for the Gentiles as well.

Verse 6 - The young camels were used for transportation. The fact that the young camels were numerous means that there were so many people who will come to gather at church. The young camels means that there were many young remnants who were coming to church. This means that the churches were filled with people of God. The people from Sheba are referring to Ethiopia. When the three wisemen came to visit Jesus, they came with gold and many treasures. As people were coming to church, they came bearing gold and incense. They were giving offerings and thanksgiving to God. They were proclaiming the salvation of Jesus Christ. They came to worship with the heart of giving spiritual worship to God.
Verse 7 - The Kedar and Nebaioth were referring to the descendants of Ismael. They came with offerings and blood sacrifices. They would come to give worship to God. They were giving sin offerings to God, meaning that they came to repent before God.
Romans 12:1 “Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.” - We don’t need blood sacrifices anymore because we are able to confess of the name of Jesus Christ through the blood of the cross. Our salvation comes from Jesus Christ alone. This is what we are confessing. Where we can worship is through the church. That is why God said that He will make His House glorified. This means that when we give worship to God, it pleases God. God will bless the church and the people who come to worship. If we worship God in Spirit and Truth, then His glory will come upon us. This is all we need. The greatest blessing that we received was receiving God’s glory.
2) Blessing of evangelism and missions
Verse 8 - Can you hear God’s voice? It sounds like the sound of the clouds. He is gathering all of His people together in the church. Just like how the clouds gather in the sky, all of His people are gathering together in the church. They come to church like doves to their nests. The doves always return back to their nest. People of God will go to church and realize that this was their home. When we look at the history of the church, this is what we can find.
Verse 9 - From here, the islands will look up to God. This is talking about the entire world. The entire world will yearn for God. Those who accept Christ, they will yearn for worship to God. Their entire focus will be towards the church. What is astounding is that it says that children from afar with gold and silver will come to honor God. The ships from Tarshish were people from a land of merchants. All of these merchants who were only seeking after riches, they came back to church with their children with silver and gold. They would come to church from afar with their children to give worship to God. They would come from afar for evangelism and missions. These ships were changed from making money to serving evangelism and missions. To honor our Lord God means worship. This means that churches will be raised and God’s name will be glorified. Wherever God’s name is proclaimed, churches will be raised. This is because God has glorified us. These are the plots of people of the world but God did all of this so that He can be glorified. Salvation is God’s grace but being able to evangelize is also part of God’s grace. Being blessed means that God has raised us up as evangelists. May you receive the blessing of an evangelist. God has chosen you as an evangelist. When you are giving worship to God and evangelize, we are giving glory to God.
3. The Mystery that You Must Know
1) God's power
1 Corinthians 2:2, 5 “For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. 5 so that your faith might not rest on human wisdom, but on God’s power.” - All of the answers and solutions are found within the cross of Jesus Christ. Your wisdom is found within God’s power not within man. We must hold onto the power of the cross.
2) What God has hidden
1 Corinthians 2:7 “No, we declare God’s wisdom, a mystery that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began.” - What was hidden for a long time for you? Your salvation. The fact that you have been saved, it has been prepared before the time of creation.
3) The power of the Holy Spirit
1 Corinthians 2:12 “What we have received is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand what God has freely given us.” - You and I have received the Holy Spirit. May you experience the power of the Holy Spirit. All mysteries and secrets are within this. Everything happened so that we can realize this. When you pray, power and healing will come to us. This power has come upon us.
Conclusion
Romans 16:26 “But now revealed and made known through the prophetic writings by the command of the eternal God, so that all the Gentiles might come to the obedience that comes from faith.” - Apostle Paul was talking about the mystery of the creation of the world. These things were prepared for us before the creation of the world. The church was prepared for us. God created the world so that He can raise up the church. What is the church? The head of the church is God and we are the body. God created the world so that we can become one with God. We need to realize our value and meaning. We are one with God. We are not strangers with God. When we are sad, God is sad. When we are suffering, God suffers. God wants us to be happy. Then, how can we enjoy these blessings? God prepared all of these through worship. When we worship in spirit and truth.
