큰 구원을 이루신 아들(히2:1-4)
서론
지난주간에 1부메세지에서 전세계에 나타나고있는 질병에 관해서 메세지를 받았다. 지금 전 세계적으로 정신적으로 고통을 당하는 사람들, 특히 영적인 병에 시달리는 사람들이 대단히 많이 있다 하는 말씀이다. 영적으로 시달린다 하게되면 특히 불신자들이 시달리고 있다 하게되면 이해가 된다. 그런데 신자들이 시달리고 있다는 것을 생각해봐야겠다. 어떤 신학자들은 신자들은 절대로 영적문제를 가질 수 없다고 이야기한다. 사실은 그렇지가 않다. 이스라엘 백성들이 출애굽을 해서 나왔지만 육신으로 나왔지 영적 정신적으로는 그대로 노예 상태에 있었다. 그들은 출애굽을 했음에도 불구하고 그들의 노예근성을 그대로 갖고있었고 불평과 원망을 항상 하고다녔다. 이런 현상은 지금도 많이 볼 수 있다. 어떤 사람들은 도박에 붙잡히고 알코올이나 마약에 중독되어있다. 이런 사람들이 전도자를 만나서 예수님을 영접했음에도 중독에서 빠져나오지 못하는 것을 본다. 왜 그런가. 뇌에 중독이 되었기 때문에 영접을 했음에도 치유가되지 않고 있는 것이다. 영적문제로 가문의 문제로 인해서 고통당하고 있는 신자들이 대단히 많이 있다. 그 사람들은 이것을 치유하기 위해서 기도를 많이 드리고있다. 그런데도 불구하고 하나님의 자녀가 됬음에도 예수님 이름으로 기도를 했음에도 치유가 되지 않는다. 그래서 기도하다가 중간에 포기해버리고 나는 안되는 모양이다 하고 그 상태로서 신앙생활하고 있는 사람들이 대단히 많다. 그러면 이것을 어떻게 치유해야할 것인가. 그대로 놔두어야할 것인가? 그래서 우리가 메세지를 받았다. 영적인 힘을 갖게되면 그것은 저절로 치유가 될 수가 있다는 것이다. 그러면 영적인 힘을 받기 위해서는 어떻게 해야하는가. 중요한 것은 그리스도라는 단어를 정확하게 먼저 이해하는 것이 중요하다. 그래서 이 그리스도가 우리 뇌에 각인되게 하는 것이 가장 중요하다. 왜냐하면 그리스도는 십자가상에서 실질적으로 내 속에 있는 세 가지 저주를 완전히 해결하셨기 때문이다. 그러므로 세 가지 저주를 완전 해결해주신 이 힘이 내게 생기게 되면 저절로 해결이 되는 것이다. 중요한 것은 그리스도를 나의 뇌에 각인시키는 것이 중요하다. 그러면 또 다른 측면에서 말씀을 드리겠다. 요 14:14 보게되면 내 이름으로 무엇이든지 내게 구하면 행하실 것이라고 주님께서 말씀하셨다. 우리가 이것을 놓고 기도하고 있는데도 불구하고 우리에게 있던 영적문제가 없어졌다가 다시 온다. 성경에서 분명히 예수님 이름으로 기도하면 치유가 된다고 이야기했는데 치유가 안되고있다. 그러면 우리가 포기해야할 것인가. 우리가 예수님 이름을 사용하고 기도할 때 가장 중요한 것은 치유의 말씀을 붙잡고 기도하는 것이다. 내가 갖고있는 문제를 가지고 말씀을 붙잡고 집중적으로 24시 기도할 때는 치유가 된다. 그러면 언제까지 기도할 것인가. 완전히 흑암이 무릎을 꿇을때까지이다. 그것은 몇 달이 될 수도 있고 몇 년이 될 수도 있다. 치유의 말씀을 붙들고 집중적으로 24시 기도하게 되면 말씀의 능력이 우리에게 각인이 되어서 치유의 역사가 나타난다. 그러면 치유의 말씀이 무엇인가. 강단 메세지 가운데서 치유의 말씀이 나오고 있다. 이번주에는 오늘 강단 메세지를 통해 주시는 말씀 가운데 특히 치유의 말씀을 붙들고 집중적으로 기도하시기 바란다.
1. 율법의 능력
1) 들은 것을 유념
지난시간에 이어서 계속적으로 말씀을 받고 있다. 오늘 또 우리에게 중요한 말씀을 주고계신다.
히 2:1 그러므로 우리는 들은 것에 더욱 유념함으로 우리가 흘러 떠내려가지 않도록 함이 마땅하니라
우리의 들은 것은 무엇을 이야기하는가. 이것은 1장에서 보았던 모든 것이다. 하나님의 아들이 천사보다 훨씬 뛰어나다 하는 말씀을 들었다. 이 말씀을 꼭 잡으라는 것이다. 예수 그리스도의 위대하심, 그 우월하심, 그 어마어마하신 능력을 꼭 붙잡으라는 말이다. 그래서 이 성경에서 흘러 떠내려가지 않도록 함이 마땅하다고 이야기하고 있다. 복음을 절대로 가볍게 보면 안된다. 우리가 복음을 가볍게 본다면 그 가볍게 보는 순간에 큰 실패가 따른다. 예를 든다면 야곱과 에서의 예를 통해서 찾아볼 수가 있다. 에서가 사냥을 하고 피곤한 몸으로 집에 돌아왔다. 그 때 야곱이 팥죽을 끓이고 있었다. 그래서 팥죽을 좀 달라고 했다. 그 때 야곱이 내가 너에게 팥죽을 줄테니 너의 장자의 명분을 팔으라고 한다. 에서가 내가 배고파죽겠는데 장자의 명분이 내게 무슨 소용이냐 하고 그러겠다고 약속을 한다.
창 25:34 야곱이 떡과 팥죽을 에서에게 주매 에서가 먹으며 마시고 일어나 갔으니 에서가 장자의 명분을 가볍게 여김이었더라
에서는 자연적으로 태어날 때 부터 장자였기 때문에 장자의 명분을 받을 수 밖에 없는 축복이 주어졌다. 그 어마어마한 은혜를 그냥 가치없이 무시해버렸다. 이 결과가 어떻게 되었는가. 은혜를 그 가치없이 무시해버린 결과가 본인에게만 따른 것이 아니라 그 후대까지 대대로 저주받은 민족이 되었다. 복음 뭐 뭐야 그럴 수도 있지 하고 대수롭지 않게 생각하다가는 그 어마어마한 결과가 나 뿐만 아니라 내 후손에게도 미친다는 것을 붙잡아야겠다. 그러니까 말씀에서 정말 너희들이 복음을 꼭 간직해라 하면서 강조를 두고 있는 것이다. 꼭 잡아야할 두번째 이유를 2절에서 말씀하고있다.
2) 율법의 가치
히 2:2 천사들을 통하여 하신 말씀이 견고하게 되어 모든 범죄함과 순종하지 아니함이 공정한 보응을 받았거든
여기서 우리가 하나 잡아야할 것이 천사들을 통하여 하신 말씀이 무엇인가. 이것이 갈 3:19에 나타난다.
갈 3:19 그런즉 율법은 무엇이냐 범법하므로 더하여진 것이라 천사들을 통하여 한 중보자의 손으로 베푸신 것인데 약속하신 자손이 오시기까지 있을 것이라
바로 천사들을 통해서 준 말씀이 율법이라는 것이다. 율법이 천사를 통해서 준것이지만 너무나 귀중하다. 만일에 범죄함과 순종하지 아니함이 있으면 공정한 보응을 받을것이라고 하고있다. 천사의 말을 가볍게 여겼던 사람으로서는 롯의 사위들을 생각해볼 수 있다. 천사들이 롯을 찾아가서 롯에게 이야기한다. 앞으로 소돔과 고모라성이 불과 유황으로 멸망을 당할테니 빨리 피하라 했다. 그런데 사위들은 천사들이 한 말을 듣고 이야기한다.
창 19:14 롯이 나가서 그 딸들과 결혼할 사위들에게 말하여 이르기를 여호와께서 이성을 멸하실 터이니 너희는 일어나 이 곳에서 떠나라 하되 그의 사위들은 농담으로 여겼더라
천사들을 통해서 하나님의 계획을 전했음에도 불구하고 그 말씀을 농담으로 여겼다는 것이다. 그 결과가 어떻게 되었는가. 소돔과 고모라 성에 불과 유황으로 땅을 덮어버렸다. 천사들을 통해서 준 말씀을 통해서 이처럼 엄청난 일이 일어나는데 복음은 어떻겠는가. 3절에서 다시 이야기하고있다.
2. 복음의 능력
1) 큰 구원자
히 2:3 우리가 이같이 큰 구원을 등한히 여기면 어찌 그 보응을 피하리요 이 구원은 처음에 주로 말씀하신 바요 들은 자들이 우리에게 확증한 바니
이처럼 어마어마한 큰 구원을 우리가 받았다는 이야기다. 이 큰 구원이라는 것은 천사들의 율법과 대조해서 이야기하고 있는 것이다. 율법이라는 것은 희생제사 또는 세 절기를 핵심으로 이루고있다. 그러나 율법은 오래가지 못한다.
롬 10:4 그리스도는 모든 믿는 자에게 의를 이루기 위하여 율법의 마침이 되시니라
율법은 그리스도가 오심으로 끝났다는 말이다. 갈 3:19에서도 약속하신 자손이 오시기까지 있을 것이라고 하고 있다. 천사가 준 율법보다도 훨씬 큰 구원을 완성시킨 이 복음을 가볍게 본다면 어떻게 되겠는가. 그리스도의 십자가 사역을 통해서 완전히 이루신 그 큰 구원을 하찮게 여겨버리고 무시해버린다면 어떤 벌을 받겠냐는 것이다. 그 복음을 피할 수가 없을 것이다 하고 말씀하고 있다. 인간에게 내려지는 세가지 저주 사단과 재앙과 지옥의 고통 가운데서 빠져나올 길이 없다는 것이다. 죽고난 다음에 고통을 당하는 것이 아니라 이 땅에 살면서 이 세가지 저주에서 헤어나오지 못할 것이라는 말이다. 그러므로 오늘 우리가 분명히 알아야할 것은 이 큰 구원이 무엇인가 하는 것을 분명히 잡아야겠다.
2) 큰 구원자의 증언
오늘 본문에서도 이 큰 구원이 무엇인가를 세가지로 설명하고 있다. 첫번째로 “이 구원은 처음에 말씀하신 바요” 하고 나온다. 이 구원을 증언하신 분이 예수님이신데 예수님께서 자신이 그리스도심을 친히 증언했다고 말씀하고 있다. 예수님 자신이 이 세가지 저주를 해결하신 해결자였다는 것을 증언하셨다는 것이다. 예수님께서 오신 목적이 이것이라고 증언하시고 있다.
마20:28 인자가 온 것은 섬김을 받으려 함이 아니라 도리어 섬기려 하고 자기 목숨을 많은 사람의 대속물로 주려 함이니라
예수님께서 자신이 말씀하시기를 내가 온 목적이 대제사장으로서 십자가에서 대속물로 죽게될 것이라고 말씀하신 것이다. 인간이 당할 때 도저히 피할 길이 없는 이 재앙을 주님께서 해결하셨다는 것이다.
눅 13:33 그러나 오늘과 내일과 모레는 내가 갈 길을 가야 하리니 선지자가 예루살렘 밖에서는 죽는 법이 없느니라.
내가 계속 말씀을 증거하고 죽을텐데 내가 죽는 것은 반드시 예루살렘에서 죽을 것이라고 장소까지 예언하셨다. 본인이 선지자로서 예루살렘에서 죽을 것이라는 예언이다. 요 18:37에는 빌라도 총독에게 하신 말씀이 나타난다.
요 18:37 빌라도가 이르되 그러면 네가 왕이 아니냐 예수께서 대답하시되 네 말과 같이 내가 왕이니라 내가 이를 위하여 태어났으며 이를 위하여 세상에 왔나니 곧 진리에 대하여 증언하려 함이로라 무릇 진리에 속한 자는 내 음성을 듣느니라 하신대
나는 왕이라고 말씀하셨다. 왕으로서 나는 이를 위하여 태어났다고 이야기하고 있다. 이를 위하여 세상에 왔다고 말씀하고 있다. 그것이 바로 무엇인가. 곧 진리에 대하여 증언하는 것이라고 말씀하신다. 진리가 무엇인가. 창 3:15 여자의 후손이 뱀의 머리를 깰 것이라는 말씀을 성취하기 위해 오셨다는 것이다. 왕으로 오신 이유는 세상 왕국 사단의 왕국을 깨뜨리기 위해서 오셨다는 것이다. 그리고 십자가 상에서 그것을 해결하셨다. 예수님께서 증언하신 것이 그것이다. 그 다음에 “들은 자들이 우리에게 확증한바” 라고 이야기하고 있다. 이 들은 자들은 누구를 이야기하는가. 예수님께 직접 들은 자들, 제자들을 나타낸다. 성경을 보게되면 제자들이 친히 예수님이 그리스도였다는 사실을 증언하고 있다는 것이다. 성경을 보면 이것이 많이 기록되어있다. 간단하게 세가지만 이야기하겠다.
3. 이름의 능력
1) 제자들의 증언
마 16:16 시몬 베드로가 대답하여 이르되 주는 그리스도시요 살아 계신 하나님의 아들이시니이다
이 베드로가 이 고백을 했을 때 예수님께서 기뻐하시면서 바요나 시몬아 네가 복이 있도다 하면서 칭찬하신 것을 알고있다. 예수님께서는 제자들이 증언하시는 것을 듣기를 원하신다. 여러분들이 어디를 가든지 주는 그리스도시요 살아계신 하나님의 아들이십니다 하는 증언을 듣기를 원하신다. 기쁨을 드리는 여러분 되시기 바란다. 사도요한은 뭐라고 했는가.
요 20:31 오직 이것을 기록함은 너희로 예수께서 하나님의 아들 그리스도이심을 믿게 하려 함이요 또 너희로 믿고 그 이름을 힘입어 생명을 얻게 하려 함이니라
요한은 너무나 이 말씀이 중요하기 때문에 성경을 기록한 목적이 예수님이 하나님의 아들이시고 그리스도되신 것을 증거하기 위해서 기록했다고 한다. 왜그런가. 바로 그 이름을 힘입어 생명을 얻기 때문이다. 그 이름으로 힘을 얻게되는 것이다. 바로 예수님 이름을 고백하면 이런 역사가 일어난다. 사도바울은 뭐라고 하고있는가.
행 17:3 뜻을 풀어 그리스도가 해를 받고 죽은 자 가운데서 다시 살아나야 할 것을 증언하고 이르되 내가 너희에게 전하는 이 예수가 곧 그리스도라 하니
사도바울은 유대인들 앞에서 예수가 바로 그리스도다 하는 것을 증언했다. 예수가 그리스도라는 증언은 예수님께서 인간의 근본문제를 완전히 해결하신 분이라는 말이다. 누구든지 예수님이 그리스도라는 사실을 고백하면서 증언하게 될 때는 놀라운 역사 흑암의 권세가 무너지는 역사가 나타나게될 줄로 믿는다. 증언이 이것으로 끝나지 않는다.
2) 아버지의 증언
히 2:4 하나님도 표적들과 기사들과 여러 가지 능력과 및 자기의 뜻을 따라 성령이 나누어 주신 것으로써 그들과 함께 증언하셨느니라
성부 하나님도 예수님께서 이 그리스도 사역을 하신 것을 증언했다고 나온다. 어떻게 하시느냐. 표적과 성령의 능력을 통해서 하셨다. 예수님께서 그리스도로 오셔서 인간이 모든 저주와 재앙을 해결하셨다는 것을 증언하셨다.
롬 10:13 누구든지 주의 이름을 부르는 자는 구원을 받으리라
십자가에 못박혀 돌아가신 주님을 바라보면서 하나님께서 하신 말씀이다. 운명과 사주팔자에서 완전히 빠져나왔다. 죄와 저주와 지옥권세에서 완전히 빠져나온다.
행 3:6 베드로가 이르되 은과 금은 내게 없거니와 내게 있는 이것을 네게 주노니 나사렛 예수 그리스도의 이름으로 일어나 걸으라 하고
베드로가 이 고백을 할 때 하나님께서는 성령의 능력을 통해서 치유하셨다. 우리가 예수 그리스도 이름으로 선포하게 될 때 하나님께서 성령의 능력으로 치유하실 줄로 믿는다.
행 16:18 이같이 여러 날을 하는지라 바울이 심히 괴로워하여 돌이켜 그 귀신에게 이르되 예수 그리스도의 이름으로 내가 네게 명하노니 그에게서 나오라 하니 귀신이 즉시 나오니라
빌립보 지역에서 귀신들린 여종을 만나서 그에게 명령할 때 즉시로 나왔다. 귀신에게 꼭 잡혀서 꼼짝 못하던 귀신들리 여종이 선포하는 순간에 완전히 해결받았다. 이 말씀 붙잡고 기도하시기 바란다. 우리가 이것을 보면서 어떤 축복을 받았는지 체크해봐야겠다. 기도수첩에서 우리에게 주신 말씀이다.
3) 받은 응답
기도수첩에서 우리에게 주신 말씀이다.
요 1:12 영접하는 자 곧 그 이름을 믿는 자들에게는 하나님의 자녀가 되는 권세를 주셨으니
사실 우리가 하나님 자녀가 되면 모든 것이 끝난 것이다. 사실은 하나님의 자녀된 권세를 누리기만 하면 된다. 우리가 이것을 붙잡아야한다. 하나님께서 아브라함을 처음에 부르실 때 약속하신 것을 볼 수 있다.
창 12:2-3 내가 너로 큰 민족을 이루고 네게 복을 주어 네 이름을 창대하게 하리니 너는 복이 될지라 너를 축복하는 자에게는 내가 복을 내리고 너를 저주하는 자에게는 내가 저주하리니 땅의 모든 족속이 너로 말미암아 복을 얻을 것이라 하신지라
어마어마한 축복을 이미 약속 받았다. 그런데도 불구하고 아브라함은 25년동안 고생하고 다녔다. 이미 다 받은 응답을 하나도 누리지 못하고 갖은 고생을 다 하고 다녔다. 왜 그런가. 믿지 않았기 때문이다. 25년동안 갖은 여러가지 문제를 많이 격다가 하나님은 모든 것을 주관하는 분이구나 믿게된다. 하나님께서는 그것을 보시면서 네 아들 이삭을 내게 바쳐라 명령하신다. 아브라함은 그 말씀을 그대로 순종하는 것을 볼 수 있다. 믿음이 있었기 때문이다. 하나님은 네 후손을 통해서 별처럼 바다의 모래처럼 많은 후손을 허락해줄 것이라는 약속을 주셨기 때문이다. 하나님의 약속은 틀림없기 때문에 내가 죽인다고 하더라도 살리실거야 하는 믿음이 왔다. 정말 잡아서 죽이려고 했다. 그 때 하나님께서는 천사를 보내서 손을 대지 말라고 하신다.
창 22:12 사자가 이르시되 그 아이에게 네 손을 대지 말라 그에게 아무 일도 하지 말라
네가 네 아들 네 독자까지도 내게 아끼지 아니하였으니 내가 이제야 네가 하나님을 경외하는 줄을 아노라
이 믿음의 결단이 있었을 때 하나님께서는 아브라함에게 큰 축복을 주신다. 그 때 부터 아브라함의 인생은 완전히 바뀐다. 우리는 이 아브라함의 결단이 필요하다. 아브라함의 결단이 무엇인가. 갈 2:20이다.
갈 2:20 내가 그리스도와 함께 십자가에 못 박혔나니 그런즉 이제는 내가 사는 것이 아니요 오직 내 안에 그리스도께서 사시는 것이라 이제 내가 육체 가운데 사는 것은 나를 사랑하사 나를 위하여 자기 자신을 버리신 하나님의 아들을 믿는 믿음 안에서 사는 것이라
이 결단을 하게되면 여러분 인생이 바뀌게 될 줄로 믿는다. 이 축복받는 여러분 되시기를 예수 그리스도 이름으로 축원한다.
결론
이렇게 되면 기도 속에서 받을 응답이 어마어마하다. 아브라함을 통해서 언약을 붙잡고 끝내겠다.
창 22:17-18 내가 네게 큰 복을 주고 네 씨가 크게 번성하여 하늘의 별과 같고 바닷가의
모래와 같게 하리니 네 씨가 그 대적의 성문을 차지하리라 또 네 씨로 말미암아 천하 만민이 복을 받으리니 이는 네가 나의 말을 준행하였음이니라 하셨다 하니라
말씀을 믿고 결단했던 것이다. 그리고 그대로 행했던 것이다. 네게 큰 복을 주고, 영적서밋의 축복을 받았다. 네 씨로 말미암아 크게 번성하고 대적의 성문을 차지하리라 하셨다. 서밋 제자를 만드는 축복이다. 네 씨로 말미암아 천하만민이 복을 받게될 것이라고 하셨다. 237나라 살릴 렘넌트의 축복을 주신 것이다. 모든 축복의 주역이 될 것이라는 말이다. 이것 말고도 하나님께서는 상상할 수 없는 축복을 주신 줄로 믿는다. 이 축복 누리시는 여러분 되시기를 예수 그리스도 이름으로 축원한다.
The Son Fulfills the Great Salvation (Hebrews 2:1-4)

“ 1 Therefore we must give the more earnest heed to the things we have heard, lest we drift away. 2 For if the word spoken through angels proved steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just reward, 3 how shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation, which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed to us by those who heard Him, 4 God also bearing witness both with signs and wonders, with various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to His own will? ”
<Introduction>
During one of the headquarters (HQ) messages, we received the message regarding the diseases around the world. Throughout the world, there are so many people who are suffering mentally and spiritually. If you are suffering spiritually, it makes sense if you are a nonbeliever. But if a believer is spiritually suffering, then we need to examine this. Some theologians say that believers should not be suffering spiritually. But that is not the case. Even though the Israelites experienced the exodus, they were freed physically but they were still spiritually captivated. Even though they were freed from slavery, they were still living a life of a slavery being bonded by constant complaints and grumbling. You can see that this is very true today. There are people who are bonded by alcoholism, problems with gambling, and addicted to drugs. Even if someone accepts Christ, they may still struggle to be freed from their problems with addiction completely. Why is that? This is because they are addicted is imprinted into their neurological state. Also if they are severe problems within their family line, there are many believers who are spiritually suffering because of their family line problems. In order to receive healing of these problems, many believers are constantly in prayer. Despite that and despite being a child of God and praying in the name of Jesus Christ, they are not receiving healing. There are people who give up and think that it is not working out of them, there are so many believers who are living like this and living without faith. Then, how can we receive healing of this? That is why if we receive the Word of God, we can receive spiritual strength and gradually receive healing. How can we receive spiritual healing? If you scream and yell out do you receive strength? You need to understand the meaning of Jesus Christ first. You need to be imprinted within Christ in your mind and brain first. This is because Jesus Christ has completely healed us of our fundamental problems. If that is so, if you receive the spiritual strength within Jesus Christ who overcame the three fundamental problems then you will receive healing. What is important is that you imprint Christ within your brain and mind. Let me give you an example and another perspective. John 14:14 (“If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.”) - This is what God promised us. We need to pray with this. But you pray with this and your problems seem to fade away but it reappears back again in your life. The Bible absolutely tells us that if we pray in the name of Jesus Christ, we will be healed but you are not being healed. Then, should you give up? No, that is not the case. The fact that you hold onto the message of healing is very important. The fact that you hold onto the message and pray 24 hours, then you can receive healing. Then, how can long should you do this? Until the forces of darkness kneels before you. This may take months and years. If you hold onto the Word of God and pray in concentration, then the Word of healing will be imprinted within your brain and mind. What is the message of healing? Within the Sunday pulpit message, there is a message of healing. Hold onto the message of healing today and concentrate it on this week. We discussed about this last week. Today’s scripture is vey important message.
1. The Power of the Law
1) "Give the more earnest heed to the things we have heard"
Verse 1 - What is that we have heard? This is was shown to us from the past scripture of Hebrews regarding the Son of God, Jesus Christ. Hold onto this. Jesus Christ is superior and almighty, we must hold onto this. We must not take the Word of God lightly. If we look at the Word of God lightly, then that moment, great failure will come upon you.
Let me give you an example through the people in the Bible, Jacob and Esau. Esau came home tired and Jacob was making a bowl of stew, Esau asked for some stew but Jacob asked for the exchange of the stew for Esau’s birthright. How did Esau respond? Esau agreed right away because he was so hungry.
Genesis 25:34 (“And Jacob gave Esau bread and stew of lentils; then he ate and drank, arose, and went his way. Thus Esau despised his birthright.”) - When Esau was born, he received the blessing of the birthright as the firstborn and he possessed the right to inherit all inheritance and blessings. But he was unaware of the blessings that he received and sold his birthright carelessly. Because of his carelessness, his family line and future descendants ended up losing hold of the covenant and lived a life of curses. You may think carelessly of the covenant but this will not end with you but you are will be effecting your future descendants and family line. That is why the Word of God tells us to hold onto the Word of God very firmly in verse 1.
2) The Worth of the Law
Verse 2 - What must we hold onto next is written in this verse. There is something that we must hold onto here. Spoke through angels. What is the Word that was spoken through angels?
It is written in Galatians 3:19 (“What purpose then does the law serve? It was added because of transgressions, till the Seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was appointed through angels by the hand of a mediator.”) - If the law is proclaimed by angels then the law is very important.
Lot took the words of the angels lightly. The angels came to Lot and told him of the fate of the Sodom of Gomorrah and how it will be destroyed.
We can see the response of Lot’s family of his warning from the angels in Genesis 19:14 (“So Lot went out and spoke to his sons-in-law, who were pledged to marry his daughters. He said, 'Hurry and get out of this place, because the Lord is about to destroy the city!' But his sons-in-law thought he was joking.”) - Even though Lot shared the warning from the angles to his family, they still thought that Lot was joking. In the end, what was the result? Sodom and Gomorrah was ultimately and completely demolished by fire. The words that are given through angels, there are great works that take place when they proclaim God’s Word.
2. The Power of the Gospel
1) The Great Savior
Verse 3 - We received great salvation. This great salvation is speaking about the law of the angels. The law is made up of the three sacrifices. However, this law did not last long.
Romans 10:4 (“For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.”) - The law means that when Jesus Christ, He finished all things. Galatians 3:19 - Jesus Christ accomplished law that was much greater than the angels but what happens when you take this Jesus Christ’s Words lightly? What happens if you take the gospel lightly? If you take the gospel that is almighty and powerful, and ignore it and take it lightly, then you will not be able to avoid the consequences of this negligence. In other words, there are three curses that came upon mankind which is hell, Satan, and sin. There is no way you can come out of this destruction by our own power and with man’s power. Your suffering does not end on earth but it will be carried onto your afterlife. If that is so, we must hold onto how powerful the salvation is. What is the great salvation?
2) The testimony of the Great Savior
Jesus Christ, Himself, said that He is the Christ. In other words, Jesus Christ, Himself, proclaimed that He is the Christ who has completely solved the three fundamental problems of mankind. This is the reason why He came and proclaimed this reason.
Matthew 20:28 (“Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”) - The reason why Jesus Christ came was to be a ransom for many and to die for mankind. The problems and suffering that mankind were suppose to suffer, Jesus Christ completely bore all of that on the cross by dying for us.
Luke 13:33 (“Nevertheless I must journey today, tomorrow, and the day following; for it cannot be that a prophet should perish outside of Jerusalem.”) - Jesus Christ prophesied that He will die in Jerusalem.
Jesus Christ, Himself, prophesied that He will die in Jerusalem as the True Prophet. For this cause, this is the reason why Jesus Christ was bought down to this world.
John 18:37 (“Pilate therefore said to Him, 'Are You a king then?; Jesus answered, 'You say rightly that I am a king. For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice.' ”) - This is what Jesus Christ responded to Pontius Pilate.
Genesis 3:15 (“And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, And you shall bruise His heel.”) - He came to fulfill this Word. He came as the True King to completely destroy the kingdom and power of Satan. He fulfilled this on the cross. This is the what Jesus Christ was testifying and proclaiming about. Who heard about this? The people who heard directly from Jesus Christ was His disciples. They were proclaiming that Jesus was the Christ. This was written many times in the Bible. I will give you three examples.
3. The Power of the Name
1) The testimony of the disciples
Matthew 16:16 (“Simon Peter answered and said, 'You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.' ”) - The moment Simon Peter confessed this, Jesus said that he was blessed. Jesus Christ wants His disciples to proclaim of His name. Wherever you go, Jesus wants you to proclaim that Jesus is the Christ the Son of God. May you enjoy this joy. Then, what did John the Apostle confess?
John 20:31 (“But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name.”) - John the Apostle saw God’s Word as so important because there is life within it. Within the name of Christ, you can receive power. This is what happens when you testify of Christ. What did Apostle Paul say?
Acts 17:3 (“Explaining and demonstrating that the Christ had to suffer and rise again from the dead, and saying, 'This Jesus whom I preach to you is the Christ.'”) - What does it mean that Jesus is the Christ? This confession means that you believe that He is the One who solved the three fundamental problems of mankind. When you confess that Jesus is the Christ, then at that moment, all darkness will be bound and the spiritual world will be at work. It doesn’t end here.
2) The Father's testimony
Romans 10:13 (“For 'whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.' ”) - This is the Word of God that Jesus spoke. Those who are bound by fate and destiny, we will be able to come out of this. You will come out of curses, hell, and powers of Satan.
Acts 3:6 (“Then Peter said, 'Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.' ”) - When Peter confessed of this, great works took place. When you confess of the name of Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit is at work and great works will arise.
Also Apostle Paul experienced the same thing in Acts 16:18 (“And this she did for many days. But Paul, greatly annoyed, turned and said to the spirit, 'I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her.' And he came out that very hour.”) - In the region of Philippi, there was a demon possessed girl but the moment Paul proclaimed the name of Jesus Christ, the evil spirits were driven out at that very moment. May you hold onto this message and pray with it. Then, we need to look at what kind of blessings that we have received.
3) Answers received
There is a message that was given to us in one of the remnant prayer journal messages. The moment you become accept Jesus Christ into your heart, you will receive the blessing to become child of God as written in John 1:12 (“But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.”) - You are a chid of God. So you just need to enjoy this blessing. You need to hold onto this.
This what God proclaimed when He called Abraham in Genesis 12:2-3 (“I will make you a great nation; I will bless you And make your name great; And you shall be a blessing. 3 I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”) - This was the great blessings promised to Abraham but he was still suffering and lost for 25 years. He lost hold of these blessings and was wondering for 25 years. Why was that? He didn’t believe and had no faith. He experienced many problems and finally realized that God was with him and that he already possessed the answers. When God saw Abraham’s faith, He demanded Abraham to sacrifice his one and only son, Isaac. When Abraham heard this, he completely obeyed. Why? This was because he believed and had complete faith in God. He held onto God’s Word of the covenant that his descendants will be as numerous as the sand in the ground. He believed that even if he sacrificed in his son then God will resurrect him and bring him back to life. He was really about to kill his son but God sent an angel to stop Abraham from killing his son.
Genesis 22:12 (“And He said, 'Do not lay your hand on the lad, or do anything to him; for now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son, your only son, from Me.' ”) - Due to Abraham act of faith, God blessed Abraham tremendously as a result. From that moment onward, Abraham’s life was completely changed. We also need Abraham’s resolution. What was Abraham’s resolution? It was Galatians 2:20 (“I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.”) - When you make this confession within your life, all things will change. May you receive and experience this blessing.
<Conclusion>
The prayer journal message said that we have received tremendous blessings. Hold onto the blessings that Abraham received in Genesis 22:17-18 (“Blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply your descendants as the stars of the heaven and as the sand which is on the seashore; and your descendants shall possess the gate of their enemies. 18 In your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice.”) - He believed in the Word of God and made a resolution. He received the blessings of the spiritual summit. He received the blessing of raising up the descendants who became the spiritual summit. He received the blessing of saving 237 nations. He was the source of all blessings. God poured down great blessings upon Abraham which he could not even imagine. May you receive these blessings in the name of Jesus Christ.
