Answers that Evangelists Receive (Acts 26:1-8)

Scripture: “1 Then Agrippa said to Paul, 'You are permitted to speak for yourself.' So Paul stretched out his hand and answered for himself: 2 'I think myself happy, King Agrippa, because today I shall answer for myself before you concerning all the things of which I am accused by the Jews, 3 especially because you are expert in all customs and questions which have to do with the Jews. Therefore I beg you to hear me patiently. 4 My manner of life from my youth, which was spent from the beginning among my own nation at Jerusalem, all the Jews know. 5 They knew me from the first, if they were willing to testify, that according to the strictest sect of our religion I lived a Pharisee. 6 And now I stand and am judged for the hope of the promise made by God to our fathers. 7 To this promise our twelve tribes, earnestly serving God night and day, hope to attain. For this hope’s sake, King Agrippa, I am accused by the Jews. 8 Why should it be thought incredible by you that God raises the dead?' ”
<Introduction>
There is a very author named C.S. Lewis and there is a book that he wrote called, “The Screwtape Letters”. Within the content of that book, there is a very interesting story within it. I am sure you all know that C.S. Lewis was a very spiritual person. Within the book, it mentions a character who is an old man who visits the library on monthly basis. The old man, coincidentally gets hold of a book of faith and while he was reading this book, he started thinking about God. He started wondering who God was and how he could establish a relationship with God. The moment he started thinking about this, Satan came within his heart and spoke to him. Satan spoke, “It is lunch time, time to play so go and eat and play.” When he started thinking of that, he started getting hungry and went to go grab some food. He stopped thinking about God and went to go eat some lunch. But while he was eating lunch, he started wondering who God was and how he could have a relationship with God. At that moment, Satan visited the old man’s heart again and bothered him. Satan was telling this old man that he is eating so focus on eating and think about this afterwards. After he finished eating, he started wondering about God again. Then, Satan visited the old man’s heart again and bothered him, “Of course, you can think this way but you are too busy for these thoughts today. There is much to be done at home and you have no leisure to be thinking these thoughts right now.” Then again, this old man went on his way to home but while on his way to home, he saw Satan on his back mirror of his car, smiling. I think this so similar to us. When you try to spend time with God, you get side tracked with others things. Or, when you are trying to listen to message or focus on the gospel, something pops up on your mind that you have to do something. There are times when you are receiving grace but you suddenly realize that you have to do something and you get up from that time of grace, and start doing what you thought you had to finish or do. But, realize that when you do that, Satan is smiling. But this New Year’s message, we received the message of Jeremiah 33:3. You have to know that when you pray or spend time with God, Satan will try to attack you. But, don’t be deceived. We need to make a resolution this year.
Today’s scripture was about how Paul was facing King Agrippa but if Paul wanted to reject the hearing with King Agrippa, he could have because he was a Roman citizen. As a Roman citizen, he had the right to appeal before Caesar only and not before king Agrippa. Paul did not have to appeal before King Agrippa but Paul accepted to be part of the hearing in front of King Agrippa. This was because Paul had another intention, he took the opportunity to share the gospel to King Agrippa and people gathered at this hearing. Paul did not lose this golden and precious opportunity and made sure to preach the gospel at this time. We can see that Paul’s main focus was always on how he could share and proclaim the gospel.
1. Paul's Evidence
1) Paul's life
In today’s Scripture, we can see the content of what Paul was sharing before King Agrippa and the people. He was sharing that Jesus Christ had died and resurrected but many people didn’t believe in this. This heard this as complete nonsense and this was how they were responding to Paul. For Paul, he was someone who actually saw the resurrected Christ and had conversation with the resurrected Christ. He wanted to share and testify of this to people around him, regarding the resurrected Christ who was alive. We can see within the content of what Paul was saying within the scripture, there were two things that he was sharing. Within very message that Paul gave, he always gave the message of the resurrected Christ and also testified that Jesus is the Christ. This was because when Paul met Christ, he thought that Jesus was dead but this Christ had resurrected and came before him as the living Christ. When he was on the road of Damascus, he heard of God asking him, “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?” And a great light shone on Paul and he immediately fell to the ground in shock. When Paul asked who this light was and Christ responded that it was God, Himself, and Paul was so shocked. As a Jew, Paul thought that Jesus was a cursed man who died for his “crime” and, therefore, he was going around persecuting this criminal. But, he was so shocked that God said that He was the One who Paul was persecuting.
2) Paul's testimony
Verses 6-8 -
Genesis 3:15 (“And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, And you shall bruise His heel.”) - Paul finally realized that Jesus Christ was the Messiah that was promised from the covenant of Genesis 3:15. This Christ came as the resurrected Christ to break down the forces of darkness which meant that Christ had fulfilled the covenant of Genesis 3:15 of crushing the serpent’s head.
1 Corinthians 15:22 (“For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive.”) - We were all sinners as mankind but through the death of Christ and His resurrection, all mankind have gained life once again. When you meet this resurrected Christ, you can gain new life. That is why through Moses, it was prophesied that a Messiah would come as the True Prophet.
This was the testimony of Apostle Paul in 2 Corinthians 5:14 (“For the love of Christ compels us, because we judge thus: that if One died for all, then all died.”) - Through Christ’s work on the cross, we can see and realize the tremendous love of God. When Jesus Christ died on the cross, He completely died and finished all of our sins. The fact that Jesus Christ died on the cross, that means we also died alongside Jesus on the cross. If Christ died on the cross for our sins, that means our sins and curses have completely died on the cross once and for all. He is truly the True Priest. When you accept this Christ into your heart, then you are given the authority and status as children of God. This is because of your old past is gone and you become a child of God. You are with God and the authority and life of God becomes yours. All disasters and curses are completely broken when Christ died on the cross for us. That is why Apostle Paul always proclaimed of Christ, the fact that Christ died on the cross for us, and that He has resurrected. That is why through this New Year’s message, there is another message that we have received. There is message that we must hold onto.
2. The Secret to Making Satan Kneel
1) Those who are in the absolute covenant
We must hold onto the secret to overcome Satan. We have received the secret to make Satan kneel. We have received this tremendous authority and power as a child of God, but how can we use it? We can enjoy his authority and power when we enjoy the absolute covenant of God. In other words, when we hold onto the method of how to make Satan kneel before us, then we will absolutely be victorious. Then, what is the method to enter into the absolute covenant?
The method is written in Daniel 1:8, 15 (“But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s delicacies, nor with the wine which he drank; therefore he requested of the chief of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself. 15 And at the end of ten days their features appeared better and fatter in flesh than all the young men who ate the portion of the king’s delicacies.”) - It said that Daniel purposed within his heart to not defile himself with the king’s delicacies. This was because the king’s delicacies were given as worship and sacrifices for idol worshipping. That is why Daniel declared that he will not eat the food that were given for idol worship. But to make this declaration was not an easy task. Not eating the king’s delicacies, this meant that you were disobeying the king’s order. But the fact that Daniel purposed within his heart, this meant that he was staking his life even if death came upon him to do this. But the eunuch allowed Daniel not to eat the king’s delicacies and Daniel only ate vegetables and water. Daniel 1:15 - But after ten days, it said that he shone more brightly and looked healthier than those who ate the king’s delicacies. This meant that God received the resolution that Daniel made and was with Daniel this entire time.
What does it mean hold onto the absolute covenant? It means that you are holding onto a purpose. It means that no matter what happens, you will focus on making a purpose before God. The moment Daniel purposed within his heart, God started working. Until the end, Daniel held onto God’s covenant. God seeing Daniel’s heart and resolution, God continued to guide and protect Daniel until the end. That is why, Daniel received the blessing of serving and meeting four kings.
Esther 4:16, 9:25 (“Go, gather all the Jews who are present in Shushan, and fast for me; neither eat nor drink for three days, night or day. My maids and I will fast likewise. And so I will go to the king, which is against the law; and if I perish, I perish! 9:25 But when Esther came before the king, he commanded by letter that this wicked plot which Haman had devised against the Jews should return on his own head, and that he and his sons should be hanged on the gallows.”) - This was the same for Esther. Esther made the resolution to go before the king even if she perishes. This was her making the resolution to enter into the absolute covenant. Just because you say that you want to enter into the absolute covenant, it doesn’t mean it will take place but for Esther, she made the absolute resolution to enter into the absolute covenant. This was what God wanted. The moment Esther made this absolute resolution to enter into the covenant, God allowed Haman to be destroyed in the end and Esther’s life was preserved. This year, we need to receive God’s absolute answers this year. We need to experience the work of making Satan kneel down before you this year.
2) Those who are in the line of evangelism
God blesses those who are within the line of evangelism. Satan cannot mess with those who are within the line of evangelism. The moment Paul met Christ, he made a resolution before God. The content of Paul’s resolution is written in Acts 20:24 (“However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.”).
Acts 23:11 (“But the following night the Lord stood by him and said, 'Be of good cheer, Paul; for as you have testified for Me in Jerusalem, so you must also bear witness at Rome.' ”) - Not only did he enter into God’s covenant but he staked his entire life for evangelism. That is why within hardships, Paul received God’s word to not be afraid for he had to stand before Caesar.
The moment Paul made that resolution for evangelism, God was with him until the end. When you make the resolution of standing within the line of evangelism, then God will bless you. As you know 40 people dedicated their lives to kill Paul but because God was with Paul, no one could touch him. That is why God allowed Paul not only to meet governor Felix but he was able to stand before Caesar. He wasn’t touched at all from the 40 people who tried to kill him but he was able to stand before Kings and high officials. That is why Satan has no choice but to kneel before evangelists. This is because God’s main focus is towards the evangelists.
Acts 12:7 (“Now behold, an angel of the Lord stood by him, and a light shone in the prison; and he struck Peter on the side and raised him up, saying, 'Arise quickly!' And his chains fell off his hands.”) - This was when Peter was in prison. Peter was in prison sleeping and laying around with not much thought. But, God was telling Peter that his death was not near and he needed to continue to do the evangelism movement so God allowed Peter to be freed from prison to continue his evangelism journey. If you go within the line of evangelism, then God will protect and guide you until the end.
3) Those who are in the line of the Light
The third method to make Satan kneel is when you are within the line of light. This was what Apostle Paul spoke in 2 Corinthians 2:10-11 (“Now whom you forgive anything, I also forgive. For if indeed I have forgiven anything, I have forgiven that one for your sakes in the presence of Christ, 11 lest Satan should take advantage of us; for we are not ignorant of his devices.”) - A lot of people are not able to do this so they are always fighting with each other. That is why you cannot receive answers. If you cannot forgive people then God said that He will not forgive you. Many church officers are still like this and still cannot forgive others but they think that God will forgive them because they are children of God. But this is a wrong mindset to have. You are not in the line of light if you have this kind of mentality. For Joseph, even though his brothers were his enemies, he did not have any grudges against his brothers. There was no content in the Bible where Joseph sought revenge against his brothers or Potiphar who threw him into prison. I am sure Potiphar was shaking in fear when he heard that Joseph was governor over Egypt. This was not written in the Bible and it is my own thinking but I feel like Joseph told Potiphar the same thing the told his brothers; that it was not his wife who caused him to go to prison but God allowed it to happen for a reason. That is why God continued to guide and bless Joseph.
2 Corinthians 2:11 - Why should you forgive others? The reason why we must forgive others is so that we cannot allow Satan to take advantage of us. When people make you upset, you are always thinking of how to seek revenge against them but the moment you start thinking this way, Satan is waiting to attack you. But if you are able to forgive and understand others then we will not give Satan the footstool to take advantage of us and our situations. If you can’t forgive others then you are putting yourself in a place where you are allowing Satan to attack you. May you receive answers. There are doors of answers and blessings waiting for you. The moment you hold onto the covenant as your own, then the doors of answers and blessings will open for you. That is why we received the message on New Year’s message to call upon God. We received the method on how to pray. There are five methods.
3. Call unto Me
1) How to receive answers to prayer
The first method is John 15:16 (“You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you.”) - It is written that we did not choose God but God chose us. Why did God choose you? God chose you so that you can bear fruit. You need to pray so that you can bear fruit.
Secondly, Philippians 4:6 (“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.”) - Don’t worry about anything because God is with you. Give thanksgiving and pray, then God will answer you. God will take care of your worries.
Third, John 5:17 (“But Jesus answered them, 'My Father has been working until now, and I have been working.' ”) - Hold onto the Word and pray, then the Word of God will absolutely fulfilled through you.
Fourth, Mark 11:24 (“Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.”) - Don’t just stop after you finish praying but have faith after you pray that God will hear and answer your prayers. The moment you have faith, then the works of fulfillment of the Word of God will take place upon your life.
1 John 5:14 (“Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.”) - May you become people who receive answers. When you pray with these five Biblical scriptures, then absolutely, there will be tremendous answers in your life.
2) How to receive the mysterious answers
Then, we need to hold onto the method on how to receive answers. The mystery on how to receive answers. When you pray, pray with the heart of Galatians 2:20 (“I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.”) - Discard and entrust all of your own motives, heart, and thoughts before God when you pray. May you pray holding onto the five Biblical scriptures and pray to receive the five powers. We are starting the 40-day prayer challenge once again but may you pray with sincerity and earnestly. Because we must receive great answers this year. Also, along with the remnant prayer journal, read the Bible at least 30 minutes a day. I heard at my regional Bible studies of people telling me that after they restored Bible reading in their lives, they have received so much grace. When you read the Bible, I truly believe that God’s great grace will be upon you. I am sure if you continue to read the Bible 30 minutes a day, then you can read the whole Bible within a year. Lastly, pray for people you want to evangelize to. Write down 300 people who you want to share the gospel to. Make a list of 300 people and pray for them. Pray especially for those who may be spiritually, mentally, and physical suffering. Pray in concentration for those kinds of people who are suffering. If you pray for those people three times a day, then you can pray for a minute for each person. And, pray that they make attend church and grow spiritually together with you. May you receive the content of these answers this year. I believe that God will prepare great doors of answers for you if you do this.
<Conclusion>
Hold onto the message that was given within our New Year’s message of Jeremiah 33:3 (“Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.”) - Pray sincerely. When you pray while holding onto His Word, then God will show you great and mighty things which you do not know. May you hold onto this pulpit message correctly, then great answers will come to you.

유명한 신앙인으로서 C.S. Lewis라는 사람이 있다. 그 사람이 쓴 악마의 편지라는 책이 있다. 재미있는 이야기가 기록되어있다. 이 분이 아마 굉장히 영적인 분인 것 같다. 영국에 노신사가 있는데 일주일에 한 번 정도 도서관에 꼭 찾아갔다. 그는 도서관에서 책을 뒤지다가 우연하게 신앙서적 하나를 집어들었다. 그 책을 읽다가 갑자가 하나님에 대한 생각이 문득 났다. 하나님은 어떤 분일까. 그 분과 어떻게 하면 관계를 맺을 수 있을까. 이 생각을 하는 그 순간에 사단이 찾아왔다. 그래서 사단이 그 노신사의 마음에 이야기했다. 지금 점심시간 아니야, 빨리 가서 밥먹어야지. 그러니 갑자기 배가 고프고 빨리 가서 먹어야겠다는 마음이 들었다. 그 생각을 하다가 그만두고 식당으로 밥을 먹으러 갔다. 그런데 그가 점심을 먹는 도중에 또 다시 하나님 생각이 났다. 하나님은 어떤 분일까? 하나님과 어떻게 해야 관계를 맺을 수 있지? 생각했다. 이 때 사단이 또 다시 노신사의 마음에 찾아들어와 방해를 했다. 밥 먹는데 괜히 왜 이런 생각이 나지. 일단 밥을 먹고 난 다음에 생각해보자. 하고 일단 식사를 했다. 식사를 다 하고 식당에서 나오는데 또 하나님 생각이 났다. 사단은 그 순간에 다시 방해를 했다. 이런 생각은 날 수도 있지. 그런데 오늘은 바빠. 집에가서 할 일이 너무 많아. 한가하게 쓸데없는 생각할게 아니지. 다른 때와 똑같이 이 사람은 자기 집으로 향했다. 차를 타고 노신사는 집으로 향했다. 그런데 그 노신사 뒤에 사단은 회심의 미소를 띄고 있었다. 이것이 C.S. Lewis가 쓴 내용이다. 참 공감이 간다. 우리는 성경을 읽거나 기도를 할 때 갑자기 급한 일이 생각나서 벌떡 일어나기도 한다. 또 무슨 메세지를 듣다가도 내가 바쁜데, 이걸 지금 할게 아닌데 할 때도 있다. 어떤 때는 성경 읽는 도중에 은혜받는 도중에 뭔가가 갑자기 생각나서 일어나기도 한다. 그럴 때 마다 사단은 회심의 미소를 지으면서 웃고 있을 것이다. 올 해 하나님께서 우리에게 부르짖어라 내가 네게 응답하겠고 네가 알지 못하는 크고 은밀한 일을 보여주실 것이라는 말씀을 주셨다. 우리가 기도할 때 이런 일이 많이 생길 것이다. 속지 마시기 바란다. 말씀을 보면서 다시 한 번 새롭게 결단하는 시간 되시기 바란다. 오늘 우리가 같이 본문을 읽었다.
1. 바울의 증거
1) 바울의 삶
바울이 아그립바 왕 앞에가서 청문회를 하는 모습이다. 바울은 자기가 싫다면 거부할 수 있는 입장이었던 것을 생각해볼 수 있다. 왜냐하면 사도바울은 황제에게 이미 상소를 한 상태였기 때문에 아그립바왕 하고는 아무런 관계가 없었다. 장소가 법정도 아니고 아그립바왕에게 재판권이 있는 것도 아니었다. 그런데 바울은 아그립바 왕의 요구를 받아들였다. 왜 그랬는가. 이것은 바울에게 다른 목적이 있었기 때문이다. 하나님께서 마련해주신 이 사람들에게 복음을 전할 수 있는 기회인 것을 사도바울은 생각했다. 그래서 이 좋은 기회를 사도바울은 놓치지 아니하고 복음을 전하기 위해 담대하게 선 것이다. 이것을 보게되면 사도바울은 항상 생각하는 것이 어떻게 하면 복음을 전할까, 하나님이 만나게 해주신 사람이 누구인가 하면서 항상 준비를 하고있었다.
2) 바울의 증거 내용
사도바울이 아그립바 왕과 총독 앞에서 증언한 내용이 나타난다. 핵심 내용이 바로 예수님계서 부활하셨다는 사실이다. 많은 사람들이 믿지 않았다. 어떻게 죽은 사람이 살아날 수 있느냐 말이 안된다고 하는 것이다. 사도바울은 자기는 부활하신 예수님을 직접 보았었다. 직접 봤을 뿐 아니라 직접 대화도 했었다. 그래서 이것을 분명히 이야기하고 싶은 것이다. 우리가 성경을 보게되면 사도바울은 복음을 두가지 측면에서 이야기한다. 사도바울은 항상 메세지에 예수님께서 부활하셨다는 것을 말한다. 그리고 예수님이 바로 그리스도였다 하는 사실을 항상 증거한다. 왜냐하면 사도바울은 저주받아서 죽었다고 생각했던 예수님을 직접 만났기 때문이다. 다메섹을 찾아가는데 빛이 비추더니 사울아 네가 나를 핍박하느냐하고 음성이 들렸다. 말에서 떨어져서 주여 누구십니까 하고 외쳤다. 바로 네가 박해하는 예수다 하는 소리를 듣고 얼마나 큰 충격을 받았겠는가. 예수님은 틀림없이 저주를 받아서 십자가에 못박혀 죽은 사람이다. 그런데 그 분이 나타나셔서 네가 핍박하는 예수다 하는 것이다. 그 충격이라는 것은 이루 말할 수 없는 것이다. 그 순간에 사도바울은 어마어마한 것을 깨닫기 시작했다. 바로 이 분이 우리가 지금까지 그렇게 기다렸던 창 3:15 말씀을 성취할 메시야 그 분이구나 하는 것을 깨달은 것이다. 바로 예수님 부활하심을 통해서 사단의 세력을 완전히 깨뜨린 그 사건이었구나 한 것이다.
고전15:22 아담 안에서 모든 사람이 죽은 것 같이 그리스도 안에서 모든 사람이 삶을 얻으리라
아담 안에 모든 사람이 죄인으로 죽었다. 그런데 주님께서 십자가에 못박혀 돌아가시고 부활하심을 통해서 이제 그리스도 안에 있게되면 모두가 살아는구나 이것을 깨닫게 된 것이다. 그래서 부활하신 예수님을 만나게 되면 그 분 안에 있게되면 새로운 삶을 살게되는구나 하는 것을 깨달은 것이다. 모세를 통해서 너와 같은 선지자를 보내겠다는 예언의 말씀이 바로 예수님이구나 깨달은 것이다. 사도바울이 또 간증한다.
고후5:14 그리스도의 사랑이 우리를 강권하시는도다 우리가 생각하건대 한 사람이 모든 사람을 대신하여 죽었은즉 모든 사람이 죽은 것이라
주님께서 우리를 구원하시고 살리기 위하여 십자가에 못박혀 돌아가신 놀라운 사랑을 깨달은 것이다. 우리의 모든 죄와 저주를 대신해서 죽으셨구나 깨달은 것이다. 우리 죄와 저주를 위해서 죽었다면 그것은 바로 우리가 죽은 것을 나타내지 않느냐는 것이다. 주님께서 십자가에서 우리 죄와 저주를 위해서 죽었다면 바로 나의 죄와 저주가 죽었다는 얘기 아니겠느냐 하는 것이다. 그 분은 참 제사장이시구나. 그래서 이 분을 영접만 하게되면 하나님의 자녀가 되는 권세를 주시는구나. 이제 우리는 하나님 자녀가 되는구나. 주님께서 함께하시기 때문에 주님의 권세가 내 권세가 되고 주님의 생명이 내 생명이 되는 것이다. 그래서 담대하게 살아갈 수 있는 것이다. 바로 사도바울이 그것을 깨달은 것이다. 그래서 사도바울은 항상 예수님이 우리 죄를 다 짊어지시고 죽으셨다가 부활했다는 것을 이야기하고 그 분은 우리 모든 문제를 해결하신 그리스도 시라는 것을 증거했다.
2. 사탄을 무릎꿇게 하는 비결
1) 절대언약 속에 있는 자
우리는 이번 원단 메세지를 통해서 받은 것이 있다. 응답받아야할 중요한 말씀이다. 사단을 무릎꿇게하는 비결에 대해서 이야기했다. 우리가 어마어마한 권세를 받았는데 그러면 어떻게 승리하며 살아갈 수 있는가. 첫번째이다. 절대 언약속에 있으면 이 축복을 받게된다는 것이다. 사단을 무릎꿇게 할 수 있는 방법을 붙잡으면 우리는 승리할 수 있다. 절대 언약 속에 들어가는 방법이 무엇인가.
단 1:8 다니엘은 뜻을 정하여 왕의 음식과 그가 마시는 포도주로 자기를 더럽히지 아니하리라 하고 자기를 더럽히지 아니하도록 환관장에게 구하니
다니엘은 뜻을 정하고 왕이 주는 음식을 먹지 않았다. 왜냐하면 왕이 주는 음식은 우상숭배를 했던 재물이기 때문이다. 그래서 환관장에게 먹지 않겠다고 이야기한다. 그런데 이것을 이야기하는 것이 쉬운 일이 아니다. 왜냐하면 음식을 먹으라고 했는데 먹지 않겠다는 것은 왕의 명령을 거절하는 것이기 때문에 죽임을 당할 수도 있다. 뜻을 정해서 이야기했다는 것은 죽을 각오를 했다는 것이다. 환관장이 다니엘의 요구를 들어준다. 우리는 채소와 물만 먹겠다고 했다. 그런데 열 흘이 지났다.
단 1:15 열흘 후에 그들의 얼굴이 더욱 아름답고 살이 더욱 윤택하여 왕의 음식을 먹는 다른 소년들보다 더 좋아 보인지라
이것은 무엇인가. 그 뜻을 정한 다니엘과 세친구를 뜻을 받아주시고 함께하셨다는 것이다. 절대 언약을 잡는 것이 무엇인가. 뜻을 정하는 것이다. 어떤 일이 있더라도 하나님 앞에서 지키겠다는 뜻을 정하는 것이다. 다니엘이 뜻을 정하는 순간부터 하나님이 함께하시는 역사가 나타났다. 다니엘은 죽을 때 까지 이 언약을 잡았다. 하나님께서는 그 뜻을 지켜주시기 위하여 끝까지 함께하셨다. 왕을 네 명이나 만나는 축복을 받았다. 에스더도 마찬가지이다.
에 4:16 당신은 가서 수산에 있는 유다인을 다 모으고 나를 위하여 금식하되 밤낮 삼 일을 먹지도 말고 마시지도 마소서 나도 나의 시녀와 더불어 이렇게 금식한 후에 규례를 어기고 왕에게 나아가리니 죽으면 죽으리이다 하니라
이것이 절대 언약 속에 들어가는 것이다. 절대 언약 속에 들어간다고 해서 절대 언약 잡겠습니다 하고 마음으로 생각하는 것이 아니다. 결단하는 것이다. 내가 이런 삶을 살겠습니다 하고 하나님 앞에서 결단하는 순간에 주의 성령께서 역사하시는 것이다. 에스더도 그 결단을 통해 절대언약 속에 들어가는 순간에 하나님이 함께하시면서 자기를 괴롭혔던 하만이 오히려 죽임을 당하는 사건이 생기게된다. 우리가 올 해는 정말로 절대 언약의 축복을 받아야겠다. 하나님께서 함께하심으로서 사단이 무릎을 꿇는 역사가 나타나야할 줄로 믿는다.
2) 전도대열에 있는 자
또 사단에게서 승리하는 두번째 방법은 전도 대열에 있는 것이다. 전도대열 속에 있는 자를 사단이 함부로 할 수 없다. 사도바울은 예수님을 만나는 순간에 전도에 대해 결단했다. 그 결단한 내용이 나타난다.
행 20:24 내가 달려갈 길과 주 예수께 받은 사명 곧 하나님의 은혜의 복음을 증언하는 일을 마치려 함에는 나의 생명조차 조금도 귀한 것으로 여기지 아니하노라
전도에 대한 결단을 내린 것이다.
행 23:11 그 날 밤에 주께서 바울 곁에 서서 이르시되 담대하라 네가 예루살렘에서 나의 일을 증언한 것 같이 로마에서도 증언하여야 하리라 하시니라
전도 대열에 서는 결단을 하는 순간에 하나님께서 함께하시는 축복이 나타난다. 40명의 자살 특공대들이 바울을 죽이려고 계획을 세웠다. 사도바울을 죽이려고 그렇게 시도를 했는데도 하나님께서 함께하시니까 도저히 그 뜻을 이룰 수 없었다. 그 덕분에 예루살렘에서 가이사랴로 옮겨왔다. 이 시도 때문에 오히려 여기와서 왕과 총독들에게 복음을 전할 기회가 더 열렸다. 이 사단은 전도자 앞에 무릎을 꿇을 수 밖에 없다. 하나님의 모든 관심은 전도자에게 있다.
베드로가 감옥에 갇혔을 때의 이야기이다.
행 12:7 홀연히 주의 사자가 나타나매 옥중에 광채가 빛나며 또 베드로의 옆구리를 쳐 깨워 이르되 급히 일어나라 하니 쇠사슬이 그 손에서 벗어지더라
베드로는 감옥소에 드러누어 실컷 자고 있는 것이다. 내가 죽으면 천국가서 주님만나지 하는 마음으로 편하게 잤던 것 같다. 그러니까 주님께서 너 아직 올 때 멀었다 전도해야한다 하시면서 천사를 보내서 내보내시는 것을 볼 수 있다. 베드로에게는 전도의 사명이 있기 때문이다. 여러분들이 전도 사명을 갖고있는 한 하나님께서 완벽하게 지켜주시고 인도해주실 줄로 믿는다.
3) 빛의 대열에 있는 자
사단을 무릎 꿇게 하는 세번째 방법은 빛의 대열에 있는 것이다.
마6:14-15 너희가 사람의 잘못을 용서하면 너희 하늘 아버지께서도 너희 잘못을 용서하시려니와 너희가 사람의 잘못을 용서하지 아니하면 너희 아버지께서도 너희 잘못을 용서하지 아니하시리라
많은 교인과 성도들이 이 말씀을 놓치고 살아간다. 서로 이기려고 싸움박질한다. 그런데 사람들은 응답이 있을 수 없다. 근본적으로 사람을 용서하지 않으면 하나님도 너를 용서하지 않는다고 하신다. 많은 교인들이 그래도 이것을 놓치고 내가 잘못한 것은 용서해주실거야 하며 살아간다. 이것은 빛의 대열에 있는 사람이 아니다. 성경을 보게되면 요셉은 원수같은 자기 형들이었지만 복수하지 않았다. 뿐만 아니라 보디발의 아내가 자기를 감옥소로 보냈음에도 복수했다는 이야기가 나오지 않는다. 보디발이 왜 우리 아내를 가만히 놔둡니까 하고 물어봤을지도 모른다. 제 생각입니다만 아마 그 때는 요셉이 형들에게 이야기한 것 처럼 당신 아내가 한 것이 아니라 하나님이 하신 것이라고 이야기했을 것이다. 하나님께서는 요셉을 끝까지 축복하셨다. 왜 용서해야하는가.
고후2:10-11 너희가 무슨 일에든지 누구를 용서하면 나도 그리하고 내가 만일 용서한 일이 있으면 용서한 그것은 너희를 위하여 그리스도 앞에서 한 것이니. 11 이는 우리로 사탄에게 속지 않게 하려 함이라 우리는 그 계책을 알지 못하는 바가 아니로라
아주 기분 나쁘게 만들고 자존심 상하게 만들면 어떻게 원수를 갚지 하고 있을 때 사단이 기다리고 있다. 그런데 전혀 그런 것 없이 사랑하고 이해하고 받아준다면 사단이 얼마나 실망스럽겠는가. 사도바울은 사단에게 속지말라고 이야기한다. 용서하고 사랑을 베풀고 포용하고 받아들이는 것이 하나님을 기쁘시게 하고 사단을 무릎꿇게 하는 방법이다. 축복의 문이 여러분 바로 앞에 있는 줄로 믿는다. 이 언약을 여러분 것으로 받아들이는 순간에 막혔던 모든 문이 열릴 것이다.
3. 너는 내게 부르짖으라
1) 기도응답 받는 방법
송구영신 예배를 통해서 말씀을 주셨다. 너는 내게 부르짖으라고 하셨다. 기도응답받는 방법에 대해서 보았다. 다섯가지로 이야기 했다.
요15:16 너희가 나를 택한 것이 아니요 내가 너희를 택하여 세웠나니 이는 너희로 가서 열매를 맺게 하고 또 너희 열매가 항상 있게 하여 내 이름으로 아버지께 무엇을 구하든지 다 받게 하려 함이라
택한 이유가 무엇인가. 열매맺게 하기 위해서라는 것이다. 그래서 열매를 위해서 기도하라는 것이다. 주님께서 기뻐하시는 열매를 놓고 기도하시기 바란다.
빌4:6 아무 것도 염려하지 말고 다만 모든 일에 기도와 간구로, 너희 구할 것을 감사함으로 하나님께 아뢰라
염려 절대로 하지 마라. 하나님께서 함께하시니까. 감사함으로 하나님께 기도하라는 것이다. 그러면 들어주신다는 것이다. 그 염려가 없어진다는 것이다.
요 5:17 예수께서 그들에게 이르시되 내 아버지께서 이제까지 일하시니 나도 일한다 하시매
말씀 붙잡고 기도하라는 것이다. 말씀이 성취된다.
막11:24 그러므로 내가 너희에게 말하노니 무엇이든지 기도하고 구하는 것은 받은 줄로 믿으라 그리하면 너희에게 그대로 되리라
기도하시고 난 다음에 끝나는 것이 아니라 믿으라는 것이다. 믿는 순간에 성취될 줄로 믿는다.
요일 5:14 그를 향하여 우리가 가진 바 담대함이 이것이니 그의 뜻대로 무엇을 구하면 들으심이라
응답받는 여러분 되시기 바란다. 이 다섯가지를 생각하며 기도하게 되면 반드시 큰 응답의 역사가 일어나게 될 줄로 믿는다.
2) 은밀한 응답의 방법
그러면 우리가 기도응답 받는 비밀을 붙잡아야겠다. 우리가 확실하게 언약 잡고 해야겠다. 모든 것을 기도하기 전에 갈 2:20의 마음을 갖고 기도하시기 바란다. 내 목적, 계획, 뜻, 생각을 모두 버리고 오직 주님 안에서 주님만 바라보면서 기도하시기 바란다. 이 다섯가지 기도를 놓고 오력을 위해 기도하시기 바란다. 그래서 1월 1일 부터 1차 40일 작정기도를 시작했다. 2월 9일까지이다. 정말로 부르짖는 간절한 기도를 하시기 바란다. 그리고 기도수첩과 함께 하루에 30분씩 꼭 성경읽기를 하시기 바란다. 제가 이번에 지교회에서 이야기를 들었습니다만 우리가 복음을 많이 들은 가운데 성경을 읽으니까 얼마나 많은 은혜를 주시는지 모른다. 여러분들은 읽을 때 큰 은혜가 여러분들에게 임할 줄로 믿는다. 한 30분 정도 읽으시면 1년에 한 번은 읽으실 수 있을 것이다. 30분 정도 읽으시면서 열 장 정도 읽으시면 일년에 2독 정도 하실 수 있을 것이다. 그리고 전도 대상자를 놓고 기도하시기 바란다. 올 해는 300명 정도는 전도하겠다 하는 각오로 기도하시기 바란다. 전도 대상자 명단을 놓고 기도하시면서 1일 3작을 하시기 바란다. 특히 영적으로, 육신적으로, 정신적으로 여러움 당하는 사람이 생각나면 그 사람을 위해 1일3작하면서 본격적으로 기도하시기 바란다. 그런 사람들을 위해서 하루에 세 번 기도하시면 1분 씩만 세번만 하시면 된다. 그래서 같이 교회화 되어서 복음생활하면 치유될 수 있도록 기도하시기 바란다. 은밀한 응답받는 방법을 꼭 잡으시고 응답받는 여러분 되시기 바란다. 큰 문이 열릴 줄로 믿는다.
결론
렘33:3 너는 내게 부르짖으라 내가 네게 응답하겠고 네가 알지 못하는 크고 은밀한 일을 네게 보이리라
간절히 기도하시기 바란다. 크고 은밀한 일을 여러분들에게 보여주실 줄로 믿는다. 오늘 말씀을 붙잡고 제대로 하게 되면 놀라운 역사가 있을 줄로 믿는다.
