“믿음의 주요 또 온전하게 하시는 이인 예수를 바라보자 그는 그 앞에 있는 기쁨을 위하여 십자가를 참으사 부끄러움을 개의치 아니하시더니 하나님 보좌 우편에 앉으셨느니라.” (히브리서 12:2)
서론 Intro
요 John 7:37-38
사막을 여행하는 사람들은 가끔 신기루를 본다고 한다. 사막에서 목이 너무 말라서 가슴이 타들어가는 느낌이 든다고 한다. 그럴때 갑자기 아름다운 시냇물이 흘러가고 사막 가운데 아름다운 나무들이 서있는 광경을 보게 되는거다. 그걸 본 사람은 너무 놀라서 있는 힘을 다해 그 곳으로 뛰어가게 된다고 한다. 그곳에 가면 물이 소리를 내면서 흐르는것을 듣는다고 한다. 그때 신발을 벗고 옷을 걷어 올려서 물속으로 들어가는것같은 시늉을 한다고 한다. 그 신기루를 접한 사람은 거기서 물을 마신다고 한다. 마음껏 생수를 시원하게 마신다고 한다. 그런데 그들이 마시는것은 사실 모래를 마시는것이라고 한다. 그래서 신기루를 보고 물 마시고 죽은 사람은 그 입에 모래가 가득 들어있다고 한다. 저는 이 이야기를 듣고 정말 놀랐다. 얼마나 비참한가. 문제는 오늘날 너무 많은 사람들이 세상의 욕망에 너무 목말라 한다는 사실이다. 세상의 욕망에 너무 목말라서 신기루를 보게 된다. 그렇게 사람들은 그 신기루를 향해 뛰어간다. 그것이 그들의 갈증을 해결해줄 생수라고 생각한다. 그것이 결국은 자기를 죽일 모래 인줄을 모르고 입안에 채워넣고 있는것이다. 지금도 수많은 사람들이 이러한 현상으로 죽어가고있다. 분명한것은, 주님에게서만 나오는것이 진짜 생수이다. 요 7:37-38 말씀에 보면, “예수께서 서서 외쳐 이르시되 누구든지 목마르거든 내게로 와서 마시라 나를 믿는자는 성경에 이름과 같이 그 배에서 생수의 강이 흘러나오리라” 하고 말씀 하셨다. 세상 많은 사람들은 신기루에 삶의 초첨을 맞추고 열심히 달려가고 있다. 그렇다면 우리는 어디에 초점 맞추고 살아야겠나 이것이다.
1. 우리의 초점 Our focus
1) 믿음의 주 The Author of our faith
히 Hebrews 12:2
오늘 본문인 2절 말씀에 보면 “믿음의 주요, 또 온전하게 하시는 이인 예수를 바라보자” 라고 나와있다. 예수를 바라보자 라는 부분이 영어로 “Fix our eyes on Jesus” 라고 나와있다. 우리 모든 눈을 예수님께로 고정시키라 하는 말인것이다. 이것을 붙잡는것이 중요하다. 또한, “믿음의 주요, 온전케 하시는 이”, 이 부분을 중요하게 보아야겠다. 여기서 “믿음의 주" 라는 말씀이 중요하다. “주" 라는 것은 “Lord”, 보통 주인을 말하는데, 여기서 특별히 원어를 보게 되면, 아르케곤 (archēgon) 이라는 단어를 사용했다. 같은 “주” 이지만 시작자, 창시자 라는 의미를 가지고 있다. NIV 성경에서는 “pioneer” 믿음의 창시자를 나타내고 있는것이다. “온전케 하시는 이” 라는 것은 “perfector”, 완성자, 완전자를 의미 하고있다. 다시 말씀 드리면 믿음을 완전케 하시는 분이 바로 예수님 이시다 라는 의미이다. 그러니까 예수님이 “믿음의 주요, 온전케 하시는 이” 라 함은 우리 마음에 믿음을 주시는 분이, 믿음의 창시자 되시는 바로 그분 이시고 또한 우리의 믿음을 완성 시키시는 분 이다 라는것이다. 그렇기 때문에 우리 모든 눈을 예수님 에게만 고정 시켜야겠다. 고정 시킬때 생명의 강물이 흘러 넘치는 축복을 받게 될줄을 믿는다.
2) 예수님의 기쁨 Jesus' joy
마 Matthew 4:9
그런데 여기서 중요한 말씀 또 나타나있다. 2절 중간쯤에 보면, 그는 그 앞에 있는 기쁨을 위하여 십자가를 참으사 부끄러움을 개의치 않으시더니 하나님 보좌 우편에 앉으셨느니라” 라고 되어있다. 이것을 잘못 해석하게 되면 오해를 할수가 있다. 예수님께서 마치 하나님의 보좌 우편에 앉으시기 위해 고통을 참으셨다 라고 잘못 해석 할수가 있다. 그것이 아니다. “그 앞에 있는 기쁨을 위하여 참으셨다” 라고 되어있다. 그렇다면 예수님께서 진정으로 기뻐하신 이유가 보좌의 옆에 앉기 위해 기뻐하신게 아니라는것이다. 그 말은, 하나님의 계획을 성취하시는 사명 자체를 기뻐하셨다는것을 나타낸다. 왜 그렇나. 택한 백성들이 구원받는것 자체 ,이것을 너무나도 기뻐하셨다는거다. 다시 말씀드리면 예수님의 십자가를 통해 우리가 구원 받을것을 생각 하시면서 기뻐 하시면서 고난을 참으셨다는 것이다. 여기서 우리가 한가지 붙잡을것이 있다. 마태복음 4:9 보게 되면 사단이 예수님이 공생애를 처음 시작하실때 그를 시험 하는 사건이 나온다. 그때 사단이 뭐라고 하나, 나에게 경배만 하면 이 세상의 왕권을 네가 다 주겠다 하고 조건을 내건다. 이에 예수님께서는 거절 하신다. 아마 저 같으면 이 못된놈 사단아 하면서 당장 쫒아낼텐데 예수님께서는 그러지 않으셨다. 감히 피조물 된 존재가 하나님의 아들 앞에 나타나서 이런식으로 말한다는것은 있을수 없는 일인데 말이다. 그대신 예수님께서는 사단에게 선포 한다. “주 너의 하나님께 경배하고 다만 그를 섬기라 하였느니라”, 하나님 아버지께만 경배하라, 예배의 대상은 오직 하나님 이시다 라고 선포를 하시는것을 볼수가 있다. 그리고 사단을 처리하지 않으시고 그대로 놔두시는것을 볼수가있다. 왜 그러셨냐 이거다. 당장에 사단을 없애버리면 되실텐데 왜 그렇게 두셨나는것이다. 어거스틴이라는 중세 철학자가 “하나님의 창조는 지금도 진행중이다” 라고 말했다. 그러면서 하는 이야기가 그 창조의 역사에 하나님께서 사단 또한 사용하고 계신다 라고 말했다. 참 맞는말 같다. 하나님께서는 사단 까지도 컨트롤 하시면서 모든 역사를 이루어 나가는것을 붙잡아야겠다. 그렇다면 여기서 또 붙잡을것이 있다.
2. 하나님의 계획 God's plan
1) 인간의 근본문제 Man's fundamental problem

그렇다면 도대체 하나님의 절대계획이 무엇이냐 이것이다. 우리가 잘 아는 바와 같이 하나님의 절대 계획은 인간의 근본문제 해결하는것 이었다. 여기서 우리가 잡을것은 인간의 근본 문제는 사단을 죽인다고 해결되는것이 아니라는 사실이다. 사단이 유혹 했으니 사단을 없애버리면 되지 않나, 그렇게 이야기 하는 사람들이 많은데, 그것이 아니라는것이다. 인간의 근본문제는 하나님과 관계 회복으로만 해결 가능하다 라는것을 알수가 있다. 로마서 3:23 말씀 보게되면, “모든 사람이 죄를 범했으매 하나님의 영광에 이르지 못하더니” 라고 나와있다. 인간의 범죄함으로 인해서 영광에 이르지 못하고 하나님과 관계가 깨어졌다는것이다. 그래서 로마서 6:23 말씀에, “죄 삯은 사망” 이었다고 나와있다. 죄 때문에 모든 문제가 생겼다는것이다. 그러면서 6:23에 계속 말씀한다, “하나님 은사는 그리스도 우리주 안에 있는 영생 이니라.” 하나님의 은사 라는것은 하나님의 선물을 나타낸다. 죄의 삯으로 인해 우리가 죽을수 밖에 없게 되었는데, 하나님께서 은혜를 베풀어 주셨고, 그 은혜가 바로 그리스도 주 안에서 영생을 얻게됨을 말하는것이다. 그래서 하나님과 관계회복은 우리가 그리스도 안으로 들어갈때 하나님의 자녀가 되는 축복을 받게 되고 거기서 모든 관계가 회복되는것이다. 그렇다면 죄가 문제인데, 이 죄를 어떻게 해결하냐 이거다. 그것에 대한 답을 하나님이 주셨다. 이사야서 53:6이 바로 그것이다. “우리는 다 양 같아서 그릇 행하여 각기 제 길로 갔거늘 하나님께서는 우리 모두의 죄악을 그에게 담당 시키셨도다.” 이 하나님과의 관계를 회복시키기 위해서는 죄 문제를 해결해야 되는데 이 죄를 그리스도를 보내셔서 십자가에 못박혀 죽게 함으로 그 문제를 해결해 주시겠다 약속 하신거다. 얼마나 감사한 사실인가. 그래서 히 2:14 말씀 보게 되면, “자녀는 혈과 육에 속하였으매 그도 또한 같은 모양으로 혈과 육을 지니심은 죽음을 통하여 죽음의 세력을 잡은자, 곧 마귀를 멸하심이라” 이라고 나와있다. 예수님께서 육신을 입고 이 땅에 오셔야만이 인간처럼 죽으실수 있다는거다. 그렇게 인간의 육신을 입고 이 땅에 오신것이다. 그렇게 인간의 모든 죄를 짊어지시고 죽으신것이다. 그렇게 죽음 문제를 해결하신것이다. 그런데 중요한것이 있다. 죽음을 통해 죽음의 세력을 잡은자, 곧 마귀를 멸했다 라고 말씀 하고있다. 예수님의 죽으심이 바로 마귀를 멸하는것 이었다 라고 나와있다. 하나님께서는 마귀를 사용하신것을 볼수가있다. 예수님이 십자가 못박혀 돌아가시게 한것이 바로 하나님께서 사단을 사용하신것이다. 그래서 십자가에서 못 박혀 돌아가심으로 말미암아 하나님의 십자가가 완성이 된것이다. 사단은 자기 나름대로 머리를 써서 하나님의 아들을 죽이면 자신이 권세를 잡게 될것이라 생각했지만 사실 그것은 자기 꾀에 넘어간것이다. 그렇게 하도록 하나님께서 허락하신것이다. 그렇게 하나님께서 예수님을 통하여 십자가를 완성 시키시고 우리의 모든 문제를 해결 하시는 놀라운 축복을 실현 하신것이다. 이것은 굉장한 메시지다. 우리가 어떠한 문제에 처해 어려움을 겪을때 흑암이 역사해 우리를 힘들게 할수가 있다. 바로 그럴때 우리가 복음을 잡고 말씀을 잡게 되면 능히 이길수 있다는 사실이다. 마귀는 우리가 하나님을 떠나게 만드려고 시험을 주지만 오히려 우리가 그것을 통해서 더 큰 믿음으로 성장이 되고 주님과 가까워지게 되는 축복을 누릴수 있다는 사실이다.
2) 예수님의 고난 Jesus' passion
빌 Philippians 2:10-11
그렇다면 여기서 우리가 예수님께서 당하신 고난을 다시 한번 생각 해보아야겠다. 예수님께서 고난 받으실때 말씀 보게 되면, “기쁨을 위하여 십자가를 참으사 부끄러움을 개의치 아니하셨다” 라고 나와있다. 예수님께서 십자가에 못박혀 돌아가시는데 “기쁨을 위하여 참았다” 라고 말씀 하시는것이다. 이 기쁨은 주님만이 가지실수 있었던 거룩한 기쁨이다. 그 기쁨을 위해서 십자가를 참으셨다는거다. 왜 그렇나, 예수님의 고난, 고통받고 죽으신 모든것, 이것은 우리가 받아 마땅했던 지옥의 고통 이었다는거다. 우리가 영원히 지옥에서 받아야 할 고통을 대신 감당 하시면서 주님은 기뻐 하셨다는것이다. 어떻게 이럴수가 있나. 뿐만 아니라 “부끄러움을 개의치 아니 하셨다” 라고 되어있다. 그분은 하나님의 아들 이시다. 영광스러운 하나님 자신 되신다. 여기 보니 십자가에서 치욕스러운 죽음을 당하셨던거다. 어떻게 보면 피조물된 마귀에게 당해서 죽으신것으로 보인다. 그리고 피조물된 인간에게 고통을 받으시고 채찍질 당하며 부끄러운 모습으로 십자가에 매달려 죽으신것이다. 왜 그렇나, 우리를 위해서. 저와 여러분을 구원시키기 위해서 주님께서는 기쁨으로 그 모든 고통을 참으셨다는거다. 이것이 하나님의 계획이었던거다. 하나님은 너무 기뻐 하시며 예수님을 하나님 보좌 우편에 앉히셨다라고 되어있다. 우리는 당연히 하나님 앞에 죄송할 뿐이다. 이 하나님의 놀라우신 은혜와 주님의 사랑을 볼때면 우리는 고개를 들수가 없다. 이 십자가의 사랑을 우리가 진정 안다면 어떻게 고개를 똑바로 들고 하나님을 쳐다볼수 있겠나. 어떻게 우리가 주님을 바라 보면서 주여, 하면서 그의 이름을 함부로 부를수가 있겠는가. 빌2:10-12 말씀 보게 되면 하나님께서 아들되신 예수님을 너무나도 기뻐 하시면서 “하늘에 있는 자들과 땅에 있는 자들과 땅 아래에 있는 자들로 모든 무릎을 예수의 이름에 꿇게 하시고 모든 입으로 예수 그리스도를 주라 시인하여 하나님 아버지께 영광을 돌리게 하셨느니라”. 하늘과 땅에 있는 모든 피조물들, 모든 존재들은 예수님의 이름 앞에 무릎을 꿇게 되는거다. 이 사실을 안다면 우리도 예수님의 이름 앞에 당연히 무릎 꿇어야 한다. 이 은혜를 생각하면 우리는 오직 예수 그리스도를 찾을수 밖에 없는거다. 그 분께서 지금 하나님의 보좌 우편에 앉아 계신것다. 어마어마한 영광을 받으시며 하나님 보좌 우편에 앉아 계신거다. 그러시면서 우리에게 보좌의 축복을 마음껏 부어주시고 계시는거다. 이 축복을 정말 감사하는 마음으로 누리는 삶을 우리가 살야야 할줄 믿는다.
3. 보좌의 3시대 The three ages of the Throne
그렇다면 우리가 여기서 잡아야 할 언약이 무엇인가. 우리는 당연히 보좌의 3시대의 언약을 잡아야겠다. 세가지의 시대적인 언약을 우리가 잡아야된다.
1) 교회화 Establishment of the church

행 Acts 2:42
하나님의 자녀 된 우리가, 어마어마한 은혜를 받은 우리가, 먼저 교회를 통해 잡아야 할 언약이다. 먼저 우리가 잡을것이 무엇인가, 하나님께서 우리를 살려주신 이유, 복음을 주신 이유가 무엇인가 를 먼저 알아야겠다. 아브라함을 부르신 이유를 통해서 찾아낼수 있다. 창세기 12:3 말씀 보게 되면, “땅에 모든 족속이 너로 말미암아 복을 얻을것이다” 라고 나와있다. 아브라함을 부르신 이유는, 땅에 있는 모든 족속을 살리시기 위하여 라고 하셨다. 그렇다면 우리를 부르신 이유는 뭔가 이거다. 마태복음 28:19 말씀 보게 되면 “그러므로 너희는 가서 모든 민족을 제자로 삼아 아버지와 아들과 성령의 이름으로 세례를 베풀고”. 모든 족속으로 모든 민족을 가서 제자 삼으로 말씀하는것이다. 놀라운 은혜로 우리가 구원을 받았다고 하면 우리가 이것을 마땅히 해야하는것이다. 그래서 우리가 잡을것은 행 2:42 말씀이다. “그들이 사도의 가르침을 받아 서로 교제하고 떡을 떼며 오로지 기도하기를 힘쓰니라.” 우리가 어디에다 초점을 맞추며 신앙생활 해야될것인가. 교회 강단말씀에 초점 맞추며 말씀에 깊이 묵상 하시기를 바란다. 말씀을 깊이 묵상하게 되면 하나님께서 그 말씀 통해서 인도해 주실것이다. 말씀을 통해 인도를 받게 되면 내가 먼저 힘을 얻게되고 생명을 살리는 축복의 역사, 아브라함에게 주셨던 축복의 역사가 나에게 성취 되게 될줄을 믿는다.
2) 현장화 Establishment of the field

그렇다면 우리가 두번째 붙잡아야 할 언약이 무엇인가. 우리가 현장을 통해서 잡을 언약은 무엇인가 이거다. 정말로 전도하는 축복을 받기를 원하시는가. 70인 제자의 축복을 정말 받기를 원하시나. 하나님께서는 우리를 구원하시기 위해 십자가에 못박혀 돌아가시며 우리를 극진히 사랑하시는 은혜를 보여주셨다. 이 언약을 잡은자인 우리에게도 하나님께서 이 축복 주시겠다고 약속 하시는거다. 현장 살리는것이 하나님의 소원 이라는거다. 내가 정말 70인이 맞다 생각되면 생명 구원을 위해서 기도해야 될것이다. 생명구원을 위해 집중적으로 기도하게 되면 사도행전 16:14 말씀, 주께서 루디아의 마음을 열었다 하는 이 말씀의 증거가 우리에게도 나타나게 될줄을 믿는다. 사도바울이 이러한 역사를 일으켰는데 어떻게 하면 나도 사도바울과 같은 축복을 받을수가 있겠는가 이것이다. 복음의 말씀을 먼저 편집 하시기를 바란다. 내가 이 사람의 생명을 살리기 위해서 전해야 될 말씀을 편집을 함으로 정리를 해야된다. 뿐만 아니라 날마다 나에게 매주 주어지는 강단 말씀을 삶에 편집 해야 한다는것이다. 그것을 가지고 기도로 설계해 나가는것이다. 그렇게 되면 하나님의 뜻이 발견이 되는것이다. 그것을 놓고 집중으로 기도 하는거다. 그렇게 된다면 찾아갈 현장이 보게 되고 그 현장을 놓고 우리가 디자인을 할수 있게된다. 사도행전 13:48 에 “이방인들도 듣고 기뻐하여 하나님의 말씀을 찬송하며 영생을 주시기로 작정된 자는 다 믿더라” 하고 말씀하고 있다. 여기서 중요한 말씀이, 이방인들이 하나님의 말씀을 찬송 했다 라는 부분이다. 그 말인즉슨, 이 말씀을 받은 사람들이 편집된 그 말씀을 듣고 은혜를 받아 하나님을 찬송 했다는것이다. 그냥 찾아가서 예수 믿어, 이것이 아니였다는것이다. 말씀이 편집 되는것이 아주 중요하다. 70 지역을 살리시는 여러분 되시기를 바란다. 그럴때에 여러분이 가는 모든 현장마다 재창조의 역사, 하나님의 뜻이 성취되는 축복의 역사가 나타나게 될줄을 믿는다.
3) 세계화 Globalization

행 Acts 2:3-4
그러면 이 보좌의 앉은 주님을 우리가 증거해야 할텐데 이것을 어떻게 잡아야 하나. 그것을 알려면 세계를 향한 하나님의 계획과 뜻을 발견하고 잡아야겠다. 왜냐하면 모든족속을 제자 삼는것이 하나님 소원이기 때문이다. 이사야서 60:1 에 이 말씀 하고있다. 언약잡은 우리, 하나님의 자녀된 우리, 주님의 십자가의 공로를 아는 우리는 마땅히 “일어나라 빛을 발하라 이는 네 빛이 이르렀고 여호와의 영광이 네 위에 임하였음이니라” 이 축복속으로 들어가야겠다. 여기서 가장 중요한것이 바로 이 축복 속으로 들어가기 위해, 이 빛을 증거하기 위해 우리가 무엇을 해야할것인가 이것이다. 지난 시간에 말씀드린 성삼위 하나님과 오력의 축복을 누리시기를 바란다. 보좌의 축복, 시공간의 축복, 237 빛의 축복을 누리시기를 바란다. 하나님의 형상, 생기, 에덴의 축복을 누리시는 여러분 되기를 바란다. 여러분이 보좌의 축복을 누리게 되면 자연적으로 따라오는것이 있는데 그것은 바로 나를 통해, 교회를 통해, 현장을 통해 전무후무한 응답을 주실것 이라는 사실이다. 그리고 세가지 시대를 잡아야겠다. 이것을 24시 나의 것으로 만들어야 된다. 이 어마어마한, 승리하신 보좌의 축복이 내 안에 임하며 역사하기 시작할것이다. 이 축복 누리시기를 바란다. 이렇게 되게 되면 여러분은 영적 플랫폼의 축복 속으로 들어가게 된다. 하나님이 나에게 플렛폼의 역사를 주셔서 많은 사람을 붙이시고 모이게 하는 축복의 역사 속에 있게 하실것이다. 저도 아홉가지 보좌의 축복을 붙잡으며 정시, 무시기도 하고 있는데 얼마나 좋은지 모른다. 힘이 확 나면서 성령에 충만해 지는것을 느낀다. 여러분도 이 축복 정말 누리시기를 바란다. 그렇게 되면 우리가 교회 24의 축복 또한 누릴수 있다. 교회를 통해서 세계복음화가 이루어져야겠다. 분명한것은 교회는 보좌의 영광이 임하는 곳 이라는 사실이다. 지금 여러분이 앉아있는 이 순간에도 하나님의 놀라우신 영광의 보좌가 우리와 함께 하신다. 그렇기 때문에 우리가 주님께 기도하게 되면 오순절 마가다락방의 성령의 충만한 역사가 임하게 되있는것이다. 우리를 구원하기 위해서 십자가에 못박혀 돌아가신 그 분이 우리가 성령을 구할때 왜 좋은것으로 주지 않으시겠느냐 이 말이다. 호흡 기도를 통해 미스바 기도 운동을 하자 하고 있다. “지혜와 계시의 영, 능력의 영으로 충만함을 허락해 주시고 아홉가지 보좌의 축복을 누리게 하여 주옵소서” 이렇게 기도하며 호흡 하라는것다. 저는 단언컨대 올해 우리가 엄청난 축복을 받게 될줄을 믿는다. 여러분과 여러분 가정, 현장, 학업, 모든 분야에 엄청난 축복의 역사가 반드시 일어나게 될줄을 믿는다. 우리가 이 호흡기도 하면서 미스바 기도운동을 일으키게 되면 하나님께서 우리를 영적 서밋으로 일으키실것이다. 우리의 모든 연약함을 치유해 주실것이다. 뿐만 아니라 빛의 경제의 축복을 풍성하게 내려 주실것이다. 그래서 우리를 통해 현장에 빛이 비춰지는 그런 역사가 일어나게 될것이다. 237 살리는 축복의 역사가 나타나게 될줄을 믿는다. 세계복음화 하는데 먼저 받을것이 보좌의 능력이다. 그리스도를 붙잡고, 하나님 나라 붙잡고 성령 충만함 받게 될때에 우리 근처에 있던 모든 창세기 3, 6, 11장이 무너지게 될줄을 믿는다. 그렇게 자동적으로 우리가 영적 안테나가 되는것이다. 우리에게 어마어마한 능력의 역사가 임해 기도하는 곳곳마다 살아나는 역사가 나타나는것이다. 멀리 한국에서 고통받고 있는 사람, 그들을 위해서 기도할때도 우리 기도를 통해서, 안테나 통해서 그들이 살아나게 되는것이다. 전세계 어느곳에 있는 사람이든 그들을 놓고 기도할때 그들이 살아나는 역사가 나타나게 되는것이다. 왜 그런가, 우리는 영적 안테나의 능력과 축복을 소유했기 때문이다. 여러분 모두 세상을 살리는 렘넌트, 남은자, 순례자, 정복자의 축복 받기를 바란다. 저는 여러분들이 올해 이 축복 반드시 틀림없이 받게 될줄을 믿는다.
결론

말씀 맺겠다. 오늘 본문 말씀 히브리서 12:2 이다, “믿음의 주요 또 온전하게 하시는 이인 예수를 바라보자 그는 그 앞에 있는 기쁨을 위하여 십자가를 참으사 부끄러움을 개의치 아니하시더니 하나님 보좌 우편에 앉으셨느니라.” 영원한 생명 되시고 영원한 구원의 길 되신 예수님만 바라보시기를 바란다. 그분은 지금 하나님 보좌 우편에 영광의 모습으로 앉아계신다. 그리고 지금도 우리를 불꽃같은 눈으로 보호해 주시고 지켜주시고 인도해주고 계신다 여러분들이 예수님의 이름으로 기도하는 그 순간에 주님께서는 벌떡 일어나셔서 응답 하시는 역사가 일어날줄을 믿는다. 이 응답 받는 여러분 되시기를 예수님의 이름으로 축원한다.
Looking Only Unto Jesus (Hebrews 12:2)

“Fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before Him He endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
Introduction
People who travel through the desert, they see mirages. They become so thirsty that their chest burns and all of sudden, they hallucinate that they see a stream of water flowing and beautiful trees standing before them. When they hallucinate these mirages, they will run towards the body of water at full speed but when they approach it, they even hallucinate that the water is flowing before them. They would take off their shoes and pull their pants down, and think that they are walking into the water. The person who hallucinates these mirages, they think that they are drinking all the fresh water that they want but in reality, they are not drinking water but sand. Since they hallucinate this, they would die from eating sand. When I heard about this, I was so shocked. Imagine how pitiful of a death this is. But if you look at the world today, the people of this world are so thirsty for worldly desire. They are so thirsty for worldly desires that they even start looking for a mirage. They all run towards this mirage of worldly pleasures and think that they are seeing "water" but without knowing, they are filling their entire mouth with this worldly mirage and die a pitiful death. What is absolute is that living water can only be found in Jesus.
John 7:37-38 “On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, 'If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. 38 He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.' ” - In this world, people are focused on the world and running full speed. If that is so, we must know where we need to put our focus.
1. Our Focus
1) The Author of our faith
Verse 2 - We need to fix our entire focus and eyes on Jesus. Holding onto Jesus is so important. From here, the important thing is, who the pioneer and perfecter of our faith is. The NIV version says that Jesus is the pioneer of our faith. It also says that Jesus is our perfecter of our faith. Jesus is the one who perfects our faith. That means that in our heart, the one who completes and pioneers our faith is Jesus. That is why we must fixate our eyes on Jesus alone. When we fixate on Jesus, then the living water of life flows through us.
2) Jesus' joy
Verse 2 “… For the joy set before Him He endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” - If we misinterpret this, we may have a misunderstanding. It may sound like Jesus suffered on the cross just so that He can sit on the right hand of God’s throne. That is not it at all. He endured the cross for the joy that was set before Him. He didn’t have joy just sitting on the throne, then what caused His true joy? His true joy was fulfilling God’s plan and will. Why is that? It is because saving the chosen people of God and giving the salvation gave Him great joy. Thinking about the fact that through the cross and His death, the people of God will be saved, it gave Jesus great joy.
We need to think also about Matthew 4:9 “And he said to Him, 'All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me.' ” - This was one of the temptations that Satan put before Jesus while Jesus started His ministry on this earth. At that time, Satan told Jesus that if Jesus worshiped before him, then Satan would give the entire world to Him. But Jesus refused. If that was me, I would have scolded Satan and condemned him, but Jesus didn’t do that at all. How could a mere creature, Satan, dare to come before Jesus, the Son of God but Jesus replied and proclaimed to Satan that we must worship God alone. Jesus didn’t remove Satan but let him be. Why did Jesus let Satan be and not remove him?
Augustine, a philosopher once said God’s creation is still in progress and God is still using Satan in His work of creation. I think this is correct. God is using Satan now to bring the work of creation to fulfillment. From here, there is something that we must hold onto. What is God’s absolute plan?
2. God's Plan
1) Man's fundamental problem
As we know that God’s absolute plan is to solve the fundamental problems of mankind. Our fundamental problem doesn’t get resolved by killing Satan. We may blame Satan and think that we just need to get rid of Satan to end the world's problems but that is not it at all. The fundamental problem of man can only be resolved when we restore our relationship with God.
Romans 3:23, 6:23 “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” - When mankind sinned, we lost hold of God’s glory.
Romans 6:23 - The result of sin was death. Because of our sins, all problems began for mankind. That is why God said that our eternal life can be only found in Jesus. Eternal life is God’s gift for us. We were supposed to die but God poured down His grace upon us. His grace was sending us Jesus Christ down to Earth to give us eternal life and to die on the cross on our behalf. Only when we enter into Jesus and accept Jesus, then we can restore our relationship with God. Then, how can we solve our sins? God gave an answer to that.
That answer of God is written in Isaiah 53:6 “We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.” - In order to restore the relationship with man, God sent His one and only Son to die on the cross. God promised this. How thankful should we be?
Hebrews 2:14 “Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil.” - Only when Jesus came in human flesh to earth, He was able to participate in death as a man. That is why Jesus had to come to earth in human flesh. He bore all our sins and died on the cross. Through His death, He solved the problem of death. There is something important here. Through His death, Jesus broke the power of Satan, who has the power of death. Through Jesus’ death, it broke the work and power of Satan. This was how God used Satan. The reason why Jesus died on the cross was to break the power of Satan. Through Jesus’ death on the cross, God’s work of the cross was completed. Satan thought that through his scheme he killed Jesus and thought that he won but it was Satan who ended up falling into his own trap. And in the end, it was Satan who was destroyed. God completed the work on the cross and solved all our problems once and for all. This is a very important message. We may experience problems and hardships, but at that time, if we hold onto God’s word and gospel, then we can easily overcome those situations. Satan may try to use our problems to deceive you, but we can turn them into blessings, and grow closer to God through those problems and events.
2) Jesus' passion
Verse 2 “…For the joy set before Him He endured the cross, scorning its shame…” - When Jesus died on the cross, He endured the death of the cross for joy. That joy was a sacred joy that only Jesus could possess. For that holy joy, He endured the cross. Why was that? The death of Jesus on the cross and all of the suffering that He faced, was something that we were supposed to receive in hell eternally. That suffering on the cross of Jesus, He endured on our behalf, and He was joyful. How could that be? Not only that but He scorned the shame. Why was that? Because He is the Son of God. He is the glorious God, Himself. This Son of God died a pitiful death on the cross on this earth. In other words, He may look like He was defeated by a mere creature, Satan and was experiencing suffering and persecution from mankind. Why was that? It was for our sake. It brought Jesus great joy to save us and died on our behalf, that brought Him great joy. God was so happy and pleased with this, that God set Jesus at the right side of God’s throne. Rightfully we should feel ashamed and not be able to lift our heads before Jesus. If we truly know the love of God, then we cannot dare to lift our heads to God. We shouldn’t even dare to even call His name.
But God was so pleased with what Jesus did on the cross that God proclaimed in Philippians 2:10-11 “That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, 11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” - The entire world and creations have no choice but to bow down before the name of Jesus. This truth applies to us, we must also bow down before the name of Jesus. If we think about Jesus’ grace towards us, we must look up to God alone. That Jesus is sitting at the right hand of God’s throne right now. He received the greatest glory and is now sitting at the right hand of God’s throne. With that, Jesus is pouring down His blessings upon us. We must live life enjoying the blessings that have been given to us with a thankful heart. What is the covenant that we must hold onto?
3. The Three Ages of the Throne
1) Establishment of the church
Hold onto the three historical covenants of the age. We who have received tremendous grace, we must hold onto the covenant for our church. First, we must hold onto the reason why God saved us. What is the reason why God gave us the gospel? We cannot do it with our own strength and power. We can discover that reason through Abraham.
Genesis 12:3 “I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” - The reason why God called Abraham was to save all the families on the earth. Why did God call us?
This is what God commanded us in Matthew 28:19 “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” - If we have received the tremendous grace of God and salvation, we must rightfully do this.
Then, we must hold onto Acts 2:42 “And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.” - Where must we put our focus as we live our walk of faith? We must focus on the pulpit message. We must meditate on the message. When we deeply meditate and concentrate on the word, then God will guide you. If we are guided by the word, then we will receive great power and the great power to save people around us, just like God blessed Abraham.
2) Establishment of the field
What is the covenant that we must hold onto in the field? Do you want to receive the answer and blessing of evangelism? Do you truly want to receive the blessing of 70 workers? God loved us so much that He poured down His great grace upon us and died on the cross, and this God promised us His great blessing to those who hold onto His covenant. God’s desire is for us to save our fields. If you believe that you are one of the 70 workers, then you must pray for the saving of souls.
May the same evidence of God who opened Lydia’s heart take place upon you as seen in Acts 16:14 “Now a certain woman named Lydia heard us. She was a seller of purple from the city of Thyatira, who worshiped God. The Lord opened her heart to heed the things spoken by Paul.” - If Paul received this answer, how can we receive it as well? Hold onto and edit the word of the gospel. In order to save people, we must edit and organize the word of God that we must relay to others to save them. On a weekly basis, God gives us the pulpit message and we must edit and organize it weekly. With that, we must plan in prayer. Then, God’s plan will be revealed to us. Pray in concentration. Pray the concentrative prayer. Then, you will find the field that you must go into and be able to design your evangelism.
Acts 13:48 “Now when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad and glorified the word of the Lord. And as many as had been appointed to eternal life believed.” - The important message here is that Gentiles glorified the word of God. This means that those who received God’s word, they heard, edited, and organized God’s word and glorified God. It is not about apostles just telling people to believe in Jesus, but they told them to edit the word of God. Editing God’s word is so important. Be the disciple of 70 workers. Then, wherever you go, the work and blessing of recreation and fulfilling God’s plan will take place through you and your fields.
3) Globalization
We must save the world because God’s desire is for all nations to receive the gospel.
Isaiah 60:1 “Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you." - In order to shine the light, we must enjoy the triune God and the 5 powers. Enjoy the power of shining the light to 237 nations, God's throne, and the power to transcend time and space. And we must enjoy the blessings of God’s creation, the blessing of the breath of life, and the blessing of Eden. When we enjoy God’s throne, then the rest of the blessings will naturally come to us. Through you, church, and field, God will give you unprecedented blessings and answers. We must hold onto the three historical covenants of the age. Enjoy these 24 hours and make this answer your own. This great blessing of God’s throne will come upon you. May you enjoy this blessing. If you do this, then the blessing of entering the spiritual platform will come upon you. Through you, God will attach you to disciples and make you into a platform. I am constantly praying with the blessings of the 9 settings, and it is so good. I am receiving so much grace and feel the power of the Holy Spirit coming upon me. May you also enjoy this blessing. If you do this, then you can also enjoy the blessing of 24 hours of our church. Through our church, we must do world evangelism. What is absolute is that a church is a place where God’s throne comes upon. It may seem like you're just sitting here in the sanctuary of our church, but God’s glory and power of the throne is upon you.
Acts 2:3-4 “Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.” - That is why when we pray to God, then the doors of answer that came upon Mark’s upper room will be upon us. Jesus who died on the cross for us, promised us the greatest answers and blessings as well as the great power of the Holy Spirit. That is why I said that we must do the Mizpah movement of prayer. We need to pray for God’s great power, revelation, and life to come upon us and for us to enjoy the blessings of the 9 settings. I truly believe that we will receive tremendous blessings and answers this year. In your studies, workplace, and family, I truly believe that great blessings of God will come upon you. As you are doing deep breathing prayer and as we partake in the Mizpah movement, God will raise you as the spiritual summit. God will heal all our weaknesses and give us the blessing of the economy of life. God will shine His light upon us in our fields. May the answer of saving 237 nations take place through you.
First, we must hold onto the power of God’s throne. When we receive the power of the Holy Spirit, God’s kingdom, and Jesus Christ, then the problem and curses of Genesis 3, 6, and 11 will break down. Then we will become the spiritual antenna. Whenever we pray, great power and the work of saving lives will take place. When we pray for those who are suffering, through our prayers and our spiritual antenna, people will be revived. When we pray for people around the world, through our prayers, God will work. This is because we have received the blessing of being the spiritual antenna. May you be the remnant, the remaining one, pilgrim, conqueror who can save the world. I truly believe that you will receive this blessing this year.
Conclusion
Hebrews 12:2 - Fix your eyes on Jesus who is our eternal life, path, and salvation. This Jesus is sitting on the right hand of God with a glorious life. With fiery eyes, God is watching, protecting, and guiding you. The moment we pray in Jesus’ name, Jesus will stand up promptly and will answer your prayers. May you receive answers in the name of Jesus Christ.
