“예배에 실패한 백성의 실상"

3 무당의 자식, 간음자와 음녀의 자식들아 너희는 가까이 오라 4 너희가 누구를 희롱하느냐 누구를 향하여 입을 크게 벌리며 혀를 내미느냐 너희는 패역의 자식, 거짓의 후손이 아니냐 5 너희가 상수리나무 사이, 모든 푸른 나무 아래에서 음욕을 피우며 골짜기 가운데 바위 틈에서 자녀를 도살하는도다 6 골짜기 가운데 매끄러운 돌들 중에 네 몫이 있으니 그것들이 곧 네가 제비 뽑아 얻은 것이라 또한 네가 전제와 예물을 그것들에게 드리니 내가 어찌 위로를 받겠느냐 7 네가 높고 높은 산 위에 네 침상을 베풀었고 네가 또 거기에 올라가서 제사를 드렸으며 8 네가 또 네 기념표를 문과 문설주 뒤에 두었으며 네가 나를 떠나 벗고 올라가서 네 침상을 넓히고 그들과 언약하며 또 네가 그들의 침상을 사랑하여 그 벌거벗은 것을 보았으며.
서론
미국의 트루먼 대통령이 은퇴 후에 한 초등학생을 만났다고 한다. 그 초등학생이 트루먼 대통령에게 질문 했다고 한다. “할아버지는 학교 다닐때 공부를 잘 하셨죠? 반장도 하셨나요?” 이에 그는 “나는 공부를 참 못했단다, 눈이 너무 나빠 안경 없이는 보지도 못했단다. 특별한 재주도 없고 겁도 많았지” 라고 대답했다. 아이가 놀라 다시 물었다고 한다. “그런데 어떻게 대통령이 되셨나요? 이에 트루먼은 “나는 믿음이 있었단다. 내가 힘이 없을때 힘을 주시는 하나님과 성령을 확실하게 믿었단다. 하나님은 항상 내 등 뒤에서 나를 도와주셨단다. 그것이 내가 가진 가장 큰 힘이 되었지” 라고 대답 했다고 한다. 참 훌륭한 대통령 이었다. 자기는 아무 능력도 재주도 없지만 하나님 께서 주시는 힘과 능력과 지혜로 대통령 직을 감당 했다 하는 고백이었다. 앞으로 미국에 또 이러한 대통령이 나오기를 기대한다. 한국도 마찬가지이다. 이런 사람이 나오면 백성들이 살아나게 되어있다.
1. 예배에 실패한 백성들 Those who fail in worship
(1) 그들의 영적 실상 Their spiritual state
사 Isaiah 57: 3
지난번에는 지도자들이 예배에 실패 했을때 당하는 고통에 대해 이야기 했다. 오늘 말씀은 잘못된 지도자를 통해 백성들이 어떻게 예배에 실패하게 되고 그것이 어떠한 결과를 초래 하는지에 대해 말해보려한다. 오늘 이스라엘 백성들을 향해 하나님께서는 말씀 하신다, 3절, “무당의 자식, 간음자와 음녀의 자식들아 너희는 가까이 오라”. 하나님이 지금 굉장히 화가 나신것으로 보이지만 사실은 안타까움이 더 큰것을 알수있다. 이 말씀이 무슨 뜻인가. 내가 너희들 자신의 영적 실상을 보여주겠다 하시는 말이다. 그러면서 백성들을 무당의 자식, 간음자와 음녀의 자식 이라 부르셨다. 예배에 실패하는 자들은 무당의 자식, 귀신의 종이다, 타락의 삶을 사는 음녀의 자손이다 – 라고 말씀 하시는 것이다. 이것은 무슨 말씀인가. 예배에 실패하는 백성들은 참다운 해답을 얻지 못하는 자들이다 라는 의미이다.
(2) 실제는 마귀의 자녀 Children of the devil in actuality

왕하 2 Kings 21:5, 9
그리고 4절에 계속 말씀 하신다, “너희가 누구를 희롱하느냐 누구를 향하여 입을 크게 벌리며 혀를 내미느냐 너희는 패역의 자식, 거짓의 후손이 아니냐” 하면서 말씀 하신다. 먼저 이 백성들 향해 너희가 누구를 지금 희롱 하고 있느냐 이 말씀이다. 너희 답을 가지지 못한 자들이 어찌 답을 가진 자들을 조롱하느냐 “누구를 향하여 입을 크게 벌리며 혀를 내미느냐”, 답도 없이 고통과 재앙 가운데 있는 사람들이 감히 예배에 승리하고 신실하게 사는 사람들을 향해 조롱하고 놀리는것에 대해 하나님이 지적 하시는것이다. 그러면 이 불신자들이 왜 이스라엘 향해 이렇게 혀를 내밀고 조롱 하는가. 이때 당시 성경적 배경을 왕하 21:5 를 보면 알수가 있다. 그들이 믿는 신앙의 모습을 기록 하는것이다. “또 여호와의 성전 두 마당에 하늘의 일월 성신을 위하여 제단들을 쌓고.” 이 므낫새라는 왕이 무슨 짓을 했나. 여호와의 성전, 두 마당은 이방인의 뜰, 아이들의 뜰을 말하는데 여기에 이방신을 위한 제단을 쌓은것이다. 쉽게 말해 너희들 이방 성전에 가서 제사를 드리라 한것이다. 그러니 백성들이 왕하 21:9 말씀 보면, “이 백성이 듣지 아니하였고 므낫세의 꾐을 받고 악을 행한 것이 여호와께서 이스라엘 자손 앞에서 멸하신 여러 민족보다 더 심하였더라.” 라고 되어있다. 하나님 말씀을 듣지 않고 므낫새가 되려 너희들이 이렇게 절하면 물질적 축복을 받을거야 하는 꾀임에 넘어가 우상숭배 한것이다. 그리고 예배생활 잘 하고 신실하게 사는 이들에게 봐라, 왕도 이렇게 사는데 너희들이 뭔데 신앙생활 잘한다고 다른척 하느냐 이 말이다. 그 백성들을 향해 하나님께서 말씀 하시길, “너희는 패역의 자식, 거짓의 후손이 아니냐” 라고 말씀 하시는것이다. 바로 요 8:44 에 너희가 마귀의 자녀가 아니냐, 그러한 삶을 살고 있는것이 아니냐 하시는것이다. 지도자 하나를 잘못 만나니 온백성이 다 우상숭배 하는 자리로 들어가는것을 볼수가 있다. 어디든지 지도자의 역할이 얼마나 중요한지를 알수 있다. 가정도 마찬가지이다. 가정에서도 부모님이 신앙생활 잘 못하게 되면 아이들도 같은 길을 따라가게 되어있다.
2. 예배 실패자의 영적 흐름 The spiritual flow of those who fail in worship
(1) 영적 분별력을 상실 Loss of spiritual discernment

엡 Ephesians 2:1
악을 행하는 흐름을 5절에 또 이야기 한다, “너희가 상수리나무 사이, 모든 푸른 나무 아래에서 음욕을 피우며 골짜기 가운데 바위 틈에서 자녀를 도살하는도다” 이 상수리나무, 푸른 나무 아래 음욕을 피운다는 말은 숲속에 산당을 지어 거기에 제사를 드리는 모습을 말한다. 이 산당이 언제 부터 생겼나. 솔로몬왕 때부터 생겼다. 이방나라에서 온 부인들이 마음대로 산당을 지을수있도록 솔로몬이 도와주었다. 이 지도자의 한번의 실수로 그 후대들까지 모두 산당을 찾으며 우상숭배를 하게 된것이다. 뿐만 아니라 골짜기 가운데서 바위 틈에서 자녀를 도살한다 했다. 스스로 예배 실패 할 뿐만 아니라 자녀들에게도 영향을 미치게 된다. 이것은 분명한 마귀의 술수이다. 창 22:2 말씀 보면, 하나님께서 아브라함에게 독자 이삭을 바치라 말씀 하신다. 마귀는 이것을 이용 하는것이다. 우상숭배 했던 왕들이 어떤 이론을 내놓았나. 우리가 아브라함의 후손이면 이처럼 우리 자식들을 아끼지 말고 제물로 내놓아야 한다 이런 주장을 한것이다. 수많은 아이들이 제물이 되어 희생 당하기도 했다. 참 놀라운 사건이다. 왕하 23:10 보면, “왕이 또 힌놈의 아들 골짜기의 도벳을 더럽게 하여 어떤 사람도 몰록에게 드리기 위하여 자기의 자녀를 불로 지나가지 못하게 하고.” 라고 되어있다. 요시아왕 때까지 불로 신에게 자녀를 드리는 제사를 했다는 것이다. 이것이 아합왕때부터 시작해서 요시아 왕 때 까지 200년 동안이나 이스라엘이 아이를 제물로 드리는 일을 했다는 말이다. 그들이 주장하는 성경구절이 창22 에 아브라함이 하나님께 가장 귀한 아들 이삭을 바치려 하는 구절이다. 요시아왕때 드디어 끝났다고 하는 말이다. 얼마나 기가 막힌 이야기 인가. 우리가 복음을 제대로 알지 못하고 예배에 실패 하면 이처럼 분별력을 잃게 되는것이다. 하나님께서 아브라함에 이삭을 바치라 하신 근본적인 의미는 창 22:12 에 나온다. 천사를 보내 결국엔 그 아이에 손을 대지 말라 하셨다. 그렇다면 아브라함에게 바치라 명령하신 의미가 무엇인가. 하나님께서 이삭 대신에 희생양을 준비해서 그 양을 대신 죽게 한다는 의미로 명령 하신것이다. 죽을수 밖에 없는 우리의 인생 이지만 그리스도의 대속의 피 통해 우리가 살아나게 될 것이다 라는 것을 보여주기 위함 인것이다. 우상숭배 자들은 이것을 분별하지 못하고 아이들을 실제로 바친것이다. 여러분, 율법에 나타나고 있는 제사 제도를 보면, 죽이기 위함이 아니라 살리기 위함을 알수있다. 다시 말해 예배를 통해 살리기 위해 예배를 드리는 것이다. 그래서 엡 2:1 말씀 보면, “죄와 허물로 죽었던 너희를 살리셨도다” 라고 하신것이다. 이게 예수님의 희생 통해 이루어 진것 이다. 이 말씀 꼭 붙잡으시라. 예배에 참석 하는것은 힘을 주시고 문제 해결할수 있도록 말씀 주시고 성령의 능력 부어주시기 위함이다. 놀라운 일이 또 일어난다, 6절, “골짜기 가운데 매끄러운 돌들 중에 네 몫이 있으니 그것들이 곧 네가 제비 뽑아 얻은 것이라 또한 네가 전제와 예물을 그것들에게 드리니 내가 어찌 위로를 받겠느냐”. 이 말씀 보면 골짜기 가운데 매끄러운 돌들 중에 네 몫이 있다 했다. 당시 우상신전 만들때 물속에 매끄러운 돌들을 사용했다. 이 돌을 사용하는 의도가 바로 하나님 말씀에 도전하는 의미이다.
(2) 하나님 말씀에 도전 Challenging against God's Word
출 Exodus 20:25
왕하 2 Kings 17:33
엡 Ephesians 2:2
출 20:25 말씀, “네가 내게 돌로 제단을 쌓거든 다듬은 돌로 쌓지 말라 네가 정으로 그것을 쪼면 부정하게 함이니라.” 있는 그대로의 돌을 사용하라는 말은 우리 있는 모습 그대로 주님앞에 나아오라 하는 의미 인것이다. 그것들이 너희가 제비 뽑아 얻은것이다 라고 말씀 한다. 이것은 사람들이 스스로 원하는 신앙을 고르고 제비 뽑았다는 것을 의미한다. 이들이 가진 신앙은 왕하 17:33 에 나와있다, “이와 같이 그들이 여호와도 경외하고 또한 어디서부터 옮겨왔든지 그 민족의 풍속대로 자기의 신들도 섬겼더라.” 지금 므낫새가 성전 앞에 우상 신전을 만들었다 나와있다. 이들이 어떤 사상을 가지고 있냐면 우리는 하나님도 열심히 섬기고 우상도 섬겨야지 하는 생각이다. 우리도 하나님 섬기는데 무슨 문제냐 하는 말이다. 지도자들 생각이 하나님이 주는 복도 받고 우상신이 주는 복도 받아야지 한것이다. 이스라엘 왕들이 혼합주의 신앙을 가지고 있던것을 알수있다. 이러한 신앙이 지금 모든 기독교회를 잡고 있는것 여러분은 모르실것이다. WCC 라고 세계 교회 협회 잘 아실것이다. 제 1차 벤쿠버 총회 당시 모든 종교는 하나다 라고 주장했다. 거기서 15개 종교 단체가 초청을 받았다. 당시 이슬람교, 불교, 힌두교, 유대교, 여러 종교들이 한 자리에 모였다. WCC 는 영혼구원이 목적이 아니라 사회구원을 목적으로 한다. 이들은 종교다원주의를 주장한다. Pluralism, 종교다원주의, 혼합주의와 같은 방향이다. 이 말의 뜻은 기독교는 세상에 많은 종교중 하나일뿐 특별한 종교가 아니다 라는 말이다. 모든 세상의 종교가 신을 섬기고 있으니 기독교도 그 중 하나일뿐 특별할 것이 하나 없다 라는 뜻이다. 그래서 이 사람들은 오직 그리스도만 얘기하지 말라, 다들 같은 신이니 모두를 존중하라 주장 하는것이다. 더 무서운것은 성경에도 잘못이 있다 하며 성경무오설을 부정 하고 있다. 이때 초청 받은 사람중에 한국의 무당도 있었다. 무당이 거기서 굿을 하는데 작두에 올라 춤을 추기도 했다. 많은 사람들이 성령의 역사가 놀랍다 하는 듯이 지켜봤다. 그것을 보고 성령의 역사라 하는 무지한 사람들이다. 이사람들은 성령훼방이 무엇인지조차 모르고있다. 분명히 우리가 붙잡을것이다. 엡2:2, “그 때에 너희는 그 가운데서 행하여 이 세상 풍조를 따르고 공중의 권세 잡은 자를 따랐으니 곧 지금 불순종의 아들들 가운데서 역사하는 영이라.” 우리는 사단을 물리치는 파수꾼의 망대를 세워야 할 줄을 믿는다.
3. 예배 실패자의 미래 The future of those who fail in worship
(1) 멸망의 길로 인도 Led to a path of destruction
사 Isaiah 57:7-8
신 Deuteronomy 6:9, 5
엡 Ephesians 2:3
7절 말씀 보겠다, “네가 높고 높은 산 위에 네 침상을 베풀었고 네가 또 거기에 올라가서 제사를 드렸으며”. 이 사람들이 우상신전을 높은 산, 꼭대기에 만든것이다. 한국 절을 봐도 산 꼭대기에 짓는 경우가 많다. 하나님 보시기에 또 다른 바벨탑 인것이다. 하나님 앞에 도전하는 행위이다. 8절, “네가 또 네 기념표를 문과 문설주 뒤에 두었으며 네가 나를 떠나 벗고 올라가서 네 침상을 넓히고 그들과 언약하며 또 네가 그들의 침상을 사랑하여 그 벌거벗은 것을 보았으며.” 여기서 네가 또 네 기념표를 문과 문설주 뒤에 두었다 하는 말씀을 주목 해보아야겠다. 신명기 6:9 말씀이 생각난다. 하나님이 이스라엘 백성에게 당신의 말씀을 네 집 문설주와 바깥 문에 기록할지라 하신 말씀이다. 그 말씀의 내용이 무엇인가? 마음을 다하고 뜻을 다하고 생명을 다해 주 여호와 하나님을 사랑 하라는 내용이다. 말씀을 기록하는 이 구절을 이용해 우상부적, 신전에 새기는데에 사용 한것이다. 모든 백성들이 신상을 가져다 놓고 앉아있다. “그들의 침상을 사랑하여 그 벌거벗은 것을 보았으며” 항상 그것을 쳐다보며 우상숭배 하는 모습을 나타내는 것이다. 이렇게 되면 완전히 사단에게 붙잡히게 되는것이다. 우리가 TV 보면 관광지에 쉽게 신상들을 발견할수있다. 기념품으로 신상이나 부적 같은것을 사기도 한다. 어떤 사람들은 그것들을 손에 차기도 하고 목에 걸고 다니기도 한다. 반드시 영적 영향이 있다. 반드시 저주 받는다. 저는 어렸을때 한국 사람들이 우상숭배 하는것을 직접 보고 컸다. 부엌에도 신상 앞에 조그만 물을 따라놓고 빌고 하는 모습도 봤다. 장독대에다가 가져다놓고 비는 모습도 봤다. 산을 걸어가다 돌맹이가 쌓여 있는것을 보면 거기에 빌기도 한다. 큰 나무를 보고 비는 사람도 봤다. 한국사람들은 오랫동안 그런식으로 살아온것이다. 한국인들 머리가 어떻게 되겠나. 세계에서 IQ 가 가장 높은 민족중 하나라고 하는데 최고 바보짓을 하는것이다. 누가 공격해 들어와도 막지도 못하고 바보짓 하며 돌아다닌 역사가 있다. 나라를 지키는 법도 몰랐다. 식민지 생활을 오래했다. 수많은 사람들이 일제강점기 시대에 붙잡혀 죽였다. 모두 오래된 우상숭배의 여파이다. 한국 6.25 전쟁때도 수백만명이 죽었다. 모든것이 예배에 실패한 멸망의 결과이다. 엡 2:3 말씀 잡아야한다, “전에는 우리도 다 그 가운데서 우리 육체의 욕심을 따라 지내며 육체와 마음의 원하는 것을 하여 다른 이들과 같이 본질상 진노의 자녀이었더니.” 복을 받고 돈을 얻기만 하면 무슨 짓이든 하고 다니는 것이 얼마나 큰 멸망의 길에 있는것인지 알아야한다. 여기서 빠져나오는 길이 무엇인가. 오직 그리스도이다. 그리스도 붙잡은것으로 우리 나라가 살게 되었다. 이 언약 잡고 승리 하시기를 바란다. 예배는 기필고 승리 해야한다. 생명 걸고 해야한다.
(2) 네피림 운동 The Nephilim movement
우상숭배자가 모르는 네피림(엡6:12) The Nephilim whom idol worshipers do not know (Ephesians 6:12)
종교인이 모르는 네피림(골2:8) The Nephilim whom religious people do not know (Colossians 2:8)
교회도 모르는 네피림(고후4:4, 10:4) The Nephilim whom the Church does not know (2 Corinthians 4:4, 10:4)
이번에 우리가 메시지 받았다. 네피림 운동의 사실을 깨달아야겠다. 네필림은 나팔 이라는 단어에서 나왔다. 이는 “하늘에서 떨어진 영” 이라는 뜻이다. 우상숭배자들은 모르는 네피림이다. 그들이 어떤 일이 생기는지 전혀 모른다. 엡 6:12 말씀 붙잡아야 할 이유이다, “우리의 씨름은 혈과 육을 상대하는 것이 아니요 통치자들과 권세들과 이 어둠의 세상 주관자들과 하늘에 있는 악의 영들을 상대함이라.” 이 네피림 운동을 종교인들이 전혀 모른다. WCC 도 자신들이 어떻게 미혹 당하는지 전혀 모르고있다. 골 2:8, “누가 철학과 헛된 속임수로 너희를 사로잡을까 주의하라 이것은 사람의 전통과 세상의 초등학문을 따름이요 그리스도를 따름이 아니니라.” 교회에도 네피림의 영이 역사 하고 있다. 고후 4:4, “그 중에 이 세상의 신이 믿지 아니하는 자들의 마음을 혼미하게 하여 그리스도의 영광의 복음의 광채가 비치지 못하게 함이니 그리스도는 하나님의 형상이니라” 우리가 복음을 찾게 되면 재창조의 역사가 나타나게 되어 있는데 이 복음의 빛이 비치지 못하게 하는것이다. 확실히 언약 잡아야겠다, 고후 10:4, “우리의 싸우는 병기는 육체에 속한 것이 아니요 오직 하나님 앞에서 견고한진을 파하는 강력이라.” 우리의 싸움의 무기는 하나님의 능력이다. 이 무기를 어떻게 찾나. 우리에게 영원한 언약으로 주신것이다. 7망대, 7여정, 7이정표를 붙잡으시라. 저는 777의 언약 잡고 아침마다 기도할때 얼마나 힘 얻는지 모른다. 이렇게 기도 할때마다 몸에서 열이 나는것 같다. 충만함이 느껴진다. 여러분도 이 축복 누리시기를 바란다.
결론 Conclusion
눅 Luke 10:17
말씀 맺겠다. 눅10:17, “칠십 인이 기뻐하며 돌아와 이르되 주여 주의 이름이면 귀신들도 우리에게 항복하더이다.” 우리가 이 777기도 붙들고 그리스도의 이름을 24 누리게 되면 능히 승리 하게 될줄을 믿는다. 기도제목 있으신가 예수님 이름으로 기도 하시라. 777 누리면서 기도 하시기를 바란다. 큰 응답 받는 여러분 되기를 축원한다.
The State of Those Who Fail in Worship (Isaiah 57:3-8)

“3 But come here, You sons of the sorceress, You offspring of the adulterer and the harlot! 4 Whom do you ridicule? Against whom do you make a wide mouth And stick out the tongue? Are you not children of transgression, Offspring of falsehood, 5 Inflaming yourselves with gods under every green tree, Slaying the children in the valleys, Under the clefts of the rocks? 6 Among the smooth stones of the stream Is your portion; They, they, are your lot! Even to them you have poured a drink offering, You have offered a grain offering. Should I receive comfort in these? 7 On a lofty and high mountain You have set your bed; Even there you went up To offer sacrifice. 8 Also behind the doors and their posts You have set up your remembrance; For you have uncovered yourself to those other than Me, And have gone up to them; You have enlarged your bed And made a covenant with them; You have loved their bed, Where you saw their nudity.”
Introduction
In America, President Truman met an elementary student after he retired. This elementary student asked President Truman a question, “When you were in school were you good in your studies?” Truman answered that he didn’t study very well. His eyes were so bad that he couldn’t see very well without his glasses. He had no particular special talents and always was afraid. This student was surprised and asked another question, “Then how did you become president?” Truman answered, “I had faith. When I had no strength, God gave me strength and I had assurance within the word of God in the Bible. God was always helping behind my back. This has become my great strength.” I truly believed that Truman was a great president. He had no strength and special talents but he confessed that it was through God’s strength and power that he was able to become president. I pray that we can foster these kinds of presidents in America as well as in South Korea. If we have these kinds of presidents then the people and nation will live. We spoke last week about what happens when you fail in worship and what kind of suffering you face. And, what answers you receive if you succeed in worship. Today we will talk about what will happen if you fail in worship and if leaders fail in worship, what will happen. Through the Israelites, God spoke to them.
1. Those Who Fail in Worship
(1) Their spiritual state
Verse 3 - This was how God described those who failed in worship. We may think that God is very furious in this scripture but He felt very unfortunate and pitiful for those who failed in worship. God was speaking to them the spiritual reality of those who fail in worship. God describes them as sons of sorcerers and adulterers. God described as those who failed in worship as those who are sons of idol worshipers and those who live in corruption. This means that those who fail in worship, they will fail to receive answers.
(2) Children of the devil in actuality
Verse 4 - God is asking them who they hate and mock? God is telling them that they are people of no answers but they are still mocking others and God’s words. These are the people who are lacking but they are still the ones who are mocking and criticizing others. These people who are failing in worship, they are the ones who are criticizing and mocking Christians. God was saying how dare they are doing that even though they are the ones who are suffering and in ignorance. Why would they do this?
2 Kings 21:5, 9 “And he built altars for all the host of heaven in the two courts of the house of the Lord. 9 But they paid no attention, and Manasseh seduced them to do more evil than the nations whom the Lord had destroyed before the children of Israel.” - We can see the reason why in this scripture. We can see the spiritual state of those who fail in worship. The Israelites and King Manasseh, the king of Israel, were worshiping idols in the temple of God. King Manasseh would come to the temple of God and they would tell people to come worship idols here.
2 Kings 21:9 - The Israelites didn’t listen to God’s words at all but would listen to the words of Manasseh, and worship idols. They would tell the people of God that they need to listen to the king and they would mock and criticize the people of God. God spoke to the Israelites and called them sons of transgressors and children of Satan. God was saying that they are living as children of Satan. If you meet one bad leader, it leads the entire nation and people to go towards the wrong path and destruction. This shows how important a leader is. This is the same thing for families. If parents fail in their walk of faith and worship, then their children will walk in the same path and will go towards suffering.
2. The Spiritual Flow of Those Who Fail in Worship
(1) Loss of spiritual discernment
Verse 5 - This was speaking about how they were preparing worship services and shrines for their idols and gods. These started these mountain shrines during King Solomon time. King Solomon allowed all of his wives from different countries to bring their idols and built these shrines for their gods. This mistake that started with one wrong leader, all of the leaders and people started following his path and caused great mischief for the future. Not only were the people failing in worship but they were committing great sins against God. This shows that they were within the schemes of Satan.
Genesis 22:2, 12 “Then He said, 'Take now your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you.' 12 But God said to Abraham, 'Do not let it be displeasing in your sight because of the lad or because of your bondwoman. Whatever Sarah has said to you, listen to her voice; for in Isaac your seed shall be called.' ” - Satan used this scheme and would make idol worshipers start sacrificing their children. They thought that since they were descendants of Abraham, they should start sacrificing their children. So many children were killed due to child sacrifices. This was astounding.
2 Kings 23:10 “And he defiled Topheth, which is in the Valley of the Son of Hinnom, that no man might make his son or his daughter pass through the fire to Molech.” - This message was about until the reign of King Jehoahaz, they kept giving children sacrifices to Molech. When did this start? For 200 years, they performed child sacrifices. They thought that they were following God’s word when Abraham sacrificed his son, Isaac to God. If we don’t know the gospel correctly and fail in worship, then these are the wicked and insane things that people end up doing.
What was the reason that God and Abraham sacrificed his son, Isaac? It is seen in Genesis 22:12 - The reason why God commanded Abraham to sacrifice Isaac was to prepare a blood of lamb on the behalf of Isaac. We had no choice but to die but through Jesus Christ, we will live and to be saved through the blood of the cross. Idol worshipers could not distinguish this and would sacrifice children. If you look at legalism, they would perform acts according to the “law of God” to kill others and not to save others. We are receiving the word of God and go to worship so that we can save others.
Ephesians 2:1 “And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins.” - This was all possible through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. We must hold onto this. If we attend worship, then we can be saved and receive the power of the Holy Spirit.
(2) Challenging against God's Word
Verse 6 - When we look at this, God speaks about your share. When people would make and build idols and shrines, they would make them out of smooth stones. They would use smooth stones as a way to challenge against God and God’s word.
Exodus 20:25 “And if you make Me an altar of stone, you shall not build it of hewn stone; for if you use your tool on it, you have profaned it.” - God commanded on how to build His altar for Him. God commanded His people to make altars out of stones so that they don’t alter anything and just go before Him with the things God prepared for them. The idol worshipers would alter the stones and pick out the stones that they wanted to make their shrines and idols.
What kind of walk of faith did they have? We can see in 2 Kings 17:33 “They feared the Lord, yet served their own gods—according to the rituals of the nations from among whom they were carried away.” - King Manasseh built idols and shrines within the temple of God. He thought that he could worship God and his idols simultaneously. They needed to worship only God but they couldn’t see this. They wanted to receive blessings from God and from their gods. They had synchronistic of faith. We need to see that this is the spiritual reality of people within this world. The World Council of Churches (WCC) announced that all religions are one. All 15 religions were invited to their meetings and leaders of Islam, African religious leaders, and other religious leaders came and gathered. The WCC’s motto was not to save souls but to save the social lives of people. Their aim is for one religion. They are aiming towards pluralism of religion, one world religion. This means that they were saying that Christians are not special and they are not the “chosen” people. Christianity is part of religion. They are saying that they are also worshiping God so there are multiple ways to worship “God.” That is why they said not to say only Christ and to respect other religions as well. What is more scary is that they say that there are flaws within the Bible. One of the people who were invited to the WCC meetings, a Buddhist from Korea, stepped on knives and started dancing during his shamanistic ritual. Many people were in awe and said that he was filled with the Holy Spirit. These people don’t see the true liberation of the Holy Spirit
Ephesians 2:2 “In which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience.” - Hold onto this. We are children of God who need to build the bartizans of Christ to fight against Satan and darkness.
3. The Future of Those Who Fail in Worship
(1) Led to a path of destruction
Verse 7 - Where did they make their shrines for their idols? On top of mountains. When God sees this, God sees mankind making another Tower of Babel. This is challenging against God.
Verse 8 - This scripture reminds me of Deuteronomy 6:9, 5 “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. 9 You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.” - What was the content of this scripture? To love God with all of our heart, soul, and strength. But people manipulated this verse and think that it is okay to put up idols and talismans all over their houses. Israelites started putting their idols and talismans all over their houses. This shows the state of idolatry. If you continue to live like this, you will become bound and controlled by Satan. When we watch TV, you can see people who travel, they buy souvenirs of idols from that country and place it in their houses as souvenirs but you are putting talisman over your houses. Some people wear them as necklaces or bracelets. If you do this, then you will absolutely be cursed and become spiritually affected. I saw how Koreans committed idolatry long time ago. Koreans would place idols all over their houses and even place in them bowls with water, and worship them. Or, they would go to mountains and place them on stones, and would pray and worship to them. They would look at tall trees and bow down to them. This was how Koreans would live and do long time ago. As you know Koreans are known to have high IQ and actually possess the highest IQs. But, they have become the ultimate fools and are doing foolish things. Even though nations and people would come to colonize them, they would just let them colonize them and became fools. Even though they were considered smart, they lived as fools. They didn’t know how to protect their own country and became fugitives in their own nation. This is same thing with people who worship idols, you will live as a fugitive and fools. There are so many people and nations who became fugitives of their nations. This happens when you worship idols. In Korea, during the Japanese colonization and Korean War, 300,000 Koreans died as a result. This shows the result of those who worship idols.
Ephesians 2:3 “Among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.” - People are going around chasing money, success, and fame but they are going towards destruction. The way out of this is only Christ. If we hold onto Christ, then our nation will live. This was how Korea prospered and is prospering right now. Hold onto this covenant and have victory. We need to have victory in worship. We need to stake our lives on this. We have received a message recently but we need to realize what the Nephilim movement is.
(2) The Nephilim movement
Nephilim means, “The Spirit that fell from heavens”; the fallen ones. The people who worshiped idols, they didn’t know what Nephilim was.
The Nephilim whom idol worshipers do not know (Ephesians 6:12 “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.”) - Hold onto this Scripture. The Nephilim movement, the politicians and religious leaders don’t know this. They don’t know how they are being manipulated and controlled by this Nephilim movement.
The Nephilim whom religious people do not know (Colossians 2:8 “Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ.”) - Within the church, the Nephilim movement is taking place.
The Nephilim whom the Church does not know (2 Corinthians 4:4, 10:4 “Whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them. 10:4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds.”) - If we hold onto the gospel, the work of recreation can take place but the light of recreation cannot take place. We need to hold onto the covenant no matter what.
2 Corinthians 10:4 - We fight with the power of God. How can we obtain this power of God? God has given us the eternal covenant. We must hold onto 7 bartizans, 7 journeys, and 7 guideposts. Whenever I pray the 7-7-7 prayer, I gain so much strength and power. Whenever I pray this prayer, I feel like I’m being consumed with the power of fire. I feel filled with the power of the Holy Spirit and God.
Conclusion
Luke 10:17 “Then the seventy returned with joy, saying, 'Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name.' ” - If we hold onto 7-7-7 prayer and enjoy Chris 24 hours a day, then we will absolutely be victorious.
