“남은 자와 버림받은 자”

“여호와께서 이와 같이 말씀하시되 포도송이에는 즙이 있으므로 사람들이 말하기를 그것을 상하지 말라 거기 복이 있느니라 하나니 나도 내 종들을 위하여 그와 같이 행하여 다 멸하지 아니하고 9 내가 야곱에게서 씨를 내며 유다에게서 나의 산들을 기업으로 얻을 자를 내리니 내가 택한 자가 이를 기업으로 얻을 것이요 나의 종들이 거기에 살 것이라 10 사론은 양 떼의 우리가 되겠고 아골 골짜기는 소 떼가 눕는 곳이 되어 나를 찾은 내 백성의 소유가 되려니와 11 오직 나 여호와를 버리며 나의 성산을 잊고 갓에게 상을 베풀며 므니에게 섞은 술을 가득히 붓는 너희여 12 내가 너희를 칼에 붙일 것인즉 다 구푸리고 죽임을 당하리니 이는 내가 불러도 너희가 대답하지 아니하며 내가 말하여도 듣지 아니하고 나의 눈에 악을 행하였으며 내가 즐겨하지 아니하는 일을 택하였음이니라” (사65:8-12)
서론
여러분들이 뉴스에서 보셨겠지만 한국에서 대통령이 계엄령을 내렸다. 보통 쿠테타는 대통령을 내쫓기 위해 일으키는데 이번에는 그런것이 아니었다. 대통령 자신이 친위 구데타를 일으킨 셈이다. 지금까지 없었던 일이 생겼다. 자기 자신이 대통령이라는 사실을 망각하고 한 일이 분명하다. 또한 자기 자신의 신분과 권세를 전혀 모르고 일으킨 일이다. 대통령이라는 막강한 권세와 힘이 있는데 그것을 온전히 인지 하지 못하고 벌인 일이라 생각된다. 이 분이 교회도 가서 예배도 드린다는 이야기도 들었지만 제가 보기에는 불신자 같다. 만일에 이 분이 하나님을 알고 하나님께 기도할줄 안다고 하면 상황은 완전히 달라졌을것이다. 왜 하나님께서 자기에게 대통령직 이라는 축복을 주셨는지 깨닫고 기도만 해도 다른 응답을 받았을것이다. 하나님께서 나에게 대통령직을 허락해주신 이유가 뭔지, 사명이 뭔지만 알아도 달랐을것이다. 이 세상 사는 사람 누구나 많은 어려움을 겪으며 산다. 그러나 어떤 환경이 온다 한들 우리가 하나님 앞에 기도하고 응답 받고 인도 받으면 하나님께서 작정하신 엄청난 일을 이룰수 있다. 정말 안타까운 일 이었는데 하나님께서 이 위에 또 어떻게 역사를 하실지 모르겠다. 저는 이것을 보며 대통령만 뭐라고 할 것이 아니라고 생각했다. 우리에게도 하나님 자녀로써 윤석렬 대통령 이상의 권세를 주셨다. 우리에게 주신 신분과 권세를 정말 온전히 누릴때 어떠한 걱정과 문제도 없을것이다. 우리는 참된 응답을 받는 그 비밀을 알아야겠다.
1. 남은 자 The Remnant
1) 참된 신자 True Believers
사 Isaiah 65:8
창 Genesis 18:32
행 Acts 27:24
오늘 말씀은 아주 귀중한 말씀으로 주고 계신다. 오늘 8장 말씀 보면 “여호와께서 이와 같이 말씀하시되 포도송이에는 즙이 있으므로 사람들이 말하기를 그것을 상하지 말라 거기 복이 있느니라 하나니 나도 내 종들을 위하여 그와 같이 행하여 다 멸하지 아니하고” 라고 나온다. 이스라엘 백성들이 왜 이렇게 우상숭배하는 사람들이 된것인가. 이스라엘 백성들을 괴롭히는 앗수르나 바벨론은 어마어마한 강대국 이었다. 그들은 대단한 신전을 지어서 이런 신들을 숭배 했던것이다. 우리가 믿고있는 눈에 보이지도 않는 신이 아니라 저렇게 눈에 보이는 화려한 신들이 더 힘이 있어 저렇게 강대국들을 지켜주는구나 생각한이스라엘 백성들은 그들의 모습을 보고 따라 우상숭배 하게 된것이다. 오늘 말씀 보면 상해버린 못된 포도나무가 되었다고 했다. 하나님께서는 이 못되고 상해버린 포도나무를 모조리 뽑아버리기로 작정 하신것이다. 그런 가운데 중요한것이 이것이다, 잘 익은 포도가 있는것을 주님께서 발견 하신것이다. 이것을 보시고 안되겠다, 모조리 뽑아버려야겠다, 전부 멸해버리겠다 하는 것을 취소 하신다. “사람들이 말하기를 그것을 상하지 말라 거기 복이 있느니라” 다 상해서 못쓰는 포도 가운데서도 제대로 익은 온전한 포도 하나를 보시고 여기에 복이 있다 말씀 하시는 것이다. 여기 잘 익은 포동포동한 포도는 그 가운데서도 믿음을 지키는 신실한 사람들을 말한다. 다 못쓰는 나무가 되어 버렸지만 남은 송이가 복의 근원이 될 것이라 하시는 것이다. 하나님 께서는 다 없애려고 작정 하시다가 잘익은 포도송이 하나 때문에 멸하지 않기로 하신것이다. 굉장히 중요한 메시지다. 소돔성을 생각해 보시라. 창세기 18:32 말씀 보면, 의인 10명만 있으면 멸망시키지 않겠다 하셨다. 소돔 전체의 수천명이 타락 했다 하더라도 의인 10명만 찾는다면 멸하지 않겠다 하신것이다. 하나님께서 정말 중요하게 여기시는 것은 그 중에도 신실하게 믿음을 지키는 자들이 있다는 것이다. 10명만 있었으면 그 성 전체가 살 수가 있었다. “나도 내 종들을 위하여 그와 같이 행하여 다 멸하지 아니하고”, 다 멸망 시켜야 마땅하지만 내 종 때문에 그러지 않겠다 하시는 말이다. 여기서 “내 종” 이 중요한 것이다. 행 27:24에 사도바울이 항해 하는 중에 풍랑을 만난다. 바울 한 사람 때문에 276명이 전부 살아나게 된것이다. 잘 익은 포도가 얼마나 중요한지 깨달으시기를 바란다. 한번 자문 해 보시기 바란다. 내가 정말 잘 익은 포도가 맞는지 점검 해 보시라. 하나님 보시기에 여러분들이 잘 익은 포도라면 하나님의 최고의 관심이 여러분들에게 있을줄을 믿는다. 나의 신앙과 내 기도 통해 수많은 사람들이 살아나게 될줄을 믿는다. 하나님께서는 여러분들의 기도를 기다리고 계신다. 하나님께서 가장 기뻐하시는 기도를 드리는 여러분들이 되기를 바란다. 우리 렘넌트, 중직자 통해 모든 지역과 사람들이 살아나는 역사가 일어날줄을 믿는다.
2) 거룩한 씨 The Holy Seed
사 Isaiah 65:9-10
왕상 1 Kings 17:9
9절 보겠다, “내가 야곱에게서 씨를 내며 유다에게서 나의 산들을 기업으로 얻을 자를 내리니 내가 택한 자가 이를 기업으로 얻을 것이요 나의 종들이 거기에 살 것이라” 내가 야곱에게서 씨를 낸다는 말은 바로 언약의 씨, 이사야서 6:13절에 남은 자를 의미한다. 중요한 것은 “내가 야곱에게서 씨를 낸다” 라고 했다. 남은 자는 하나님께서 세우시는 것을 말한다. 그래서 “유다에게서 나의 산들을 기업으로 얻을 자를 내리니” 유다는 파괴된 상태와 같았다. 여기서 아브라함에게 준 언약을 이룰 자를 세우고 그로 인해 당신의 종들이 살것 이라 한것이다. 여기서 “나의 종”은 무엇인가. 하나님 앞에 선택받은 자, 은혜 받은 사람을 말한다. 그러면서 말씀에 순종하는 자 를 말한다. 말씀만 붙들고 어떤 일이 있어도 말씀만 의지하며 사는 사람이 주의 종 인것이다. 또 택한 자 라고 말했다. 바로 그러한 사람들이 택한 자들이다. 내 욕심, 모든것 다 내려놓고 하나님 말씀만 순종 하면서 말씀 따라가는 사람들을 말한다. 이해를 쉽게 하기 위해 이번주 금요일날 말씀 드렸던 사렙다 과부 이야기를 다시 한번 하겠다. 왕상 17:9 말씀 보면, “너는 일어나 시돈에 속한 사르밧으로 가서 거기 머물라 내가 그 곳 과부에게 명령하여 네게 음식을 주게 하였느니라” 사렙다 과부에게 명령 하였으니 네가 거기서 지내면서 먹고 마시라 라고 하나님이 말씀 하신다. 그 말씀을 듣고 가서 엘리야가 과부에게 빵좀 달라 하니 과부가 대답 하기를 없다 하는 것이다. 하나님께서 명령 하셨으면 알아듣고 아 네, 하나님께 말씀 들었습니다 하면서 영접 해야 하는데, 과부가 이야기 하기를 빵가루 조금 남은것으로 만들어 나 먹고 우리 아들 먹고 죽으려 합니다 라고 답한것이다. 이 과부는 하나님한테 전혀 이야기를 들은 것이 없는것이다. 이 때에 엘리야는 과부에게 하나님의 말씀을 전달한다. 그 가루 남은것으로 빵을 만들어 내게 주면 너도 떨어지지 않고 계속 먹게 될것이다 하는 것이 하나님의 말씀이다 전한다. 이 사렙다 라는 지역은 아합의 부인인 이세벨이 살던 지역이다. 무슨 말씀이냐 하면 이 사렙다 과부는 우상숭배자 였다는 말이다. 우상숭배 하는 과부 앞에 엘리야 라는 하나님의 사람이 나타나서 네가 내게 빵을 주면 그로 인해 계속 빵을 얻을것이다 하면 믿겠나 믿지 않겠나. 과부는 거기서 고민하는것이다. 이 사람이 하는 말을 믿을것이냐 아니면 자기가 섬기는 신의 말을 믿을것이냐 이것이다. 이때 과부는 엘리야의 말을 듣고 하나님의 말씀을 듣기로, 순종 하기로 한다. 하나님께서는 이것을 보고 명령 하셨다 했다. 하나님께서 명령 하셨다는 것은 명령이 아니라 예정 하셨다는 말이다. 하나님이 역사 하신것을 나타낸다. 사렙다 과부는 자기의 신앙을 가지고 결정 하는 가운데 순종 하기로 결정 한다. 하나님께서 이렇게 예정을 이루어 나가시는것이다. 그 믿음의 과정 통해 사렙다 과부에게 엄청난 축복 주신것이다. 3년동안 굶지 않고 아들과 먹을수 있게 된다. 또 하나님께서 축복해 주셔서 엘리야의 기도를 통해 구원까지 시키는 축복을 얻었다. 종들 이라는 것은 말씀에 순종하는 자들 이라는 말이다. 세상을 택할것이냐, 말씀을 택할것이냐 이 기로에 놓였을때 나는 말씀을 택하겠다, 이것이 순종하는 자들이다. 나의 종들이 거기게 산다는 말은 순종하는 자들이 유다에 돌아와 살게 될것이다 하는 말이다. 그리고 돌아온 자들을 축복하시는 내용이 10절에 나온다, “사론은 양 떼의 우리가 되겠고 아골 골짜기는 소 떼가 눕는 곳이 되어 나를 찾은 내 백성의 소유가 되려니와” – 돌아오게 되면 순종한 자들에게는 양떼가 있는 비옥한 목초지로 인도 하겠다 이 말이다. 아골 골짜기는 소 떼가 눕는 곳이 된다 했다. 다시말해 황폐된 저주의 땅이 변해 풍요의 땅으로 바꾸게 될것 이라는 말이다. 풍요의 땅은 육신적으로도 어려움 당하지 않게 풍성히 허락 해 주신것을 볼수 있다. 말씀에 순종하게 되면 먼저 풀어주시는것이 육신적인 것들이다. 그리고 사렙다 과부처럼 내세의 것도 축복을 받는다. 10절, “나를 찾은 내 백성의 소유가 되려니와” 열악한 상황 중에도 하나님의 말씀에 순종한 자들에게 하나님게서 영원한 기업을 차지하는 축복이 있게 될것이라 하시는 것이다. 이것이 우리의 믿음의 결단이 중요한 이유이다. 많은 사람들은 지금 세상을 바라보고 있다. 아무것도 아니고 열약한 환경 이지만 말씀 붙잡고 나갈때 거기서부터 모든 축복이 있게된다.
2. 버림받은 자 The Forsaken
1) 불순종하는 자 The Disobedient
사 Isaiah 65:11
반대의 경우를 보겠다, 11절, “오직 나 여호와를 버리며 나의 성산을 잊고 갓에게 상을 베풀며 므니에게 섞은 술을 가득히 붓는 너희여”. 엄청난 신상을 섬기며 축복받은 바벨론과 앗수르를 보며 이를 섬기면 축복받을거라 생각해 여호와를 버리고 말씀을 떠나게 된것이다. 하나님의 예배를 떠난것이다. “갓에게 상을 베풀며 므니에게 섞은 술을 가득히 붓는 너희여” 이들이 섬긴 “갓”이라는 것은 행운을 준다고 하는 그들의 신 이었다. 므니는 운명을 주관하는 신이다. 이를 보고 칼빈은 어떻게 해석하냐하면, 보이는 우상을 찾아다니며 경배하는 이스라엘 백성들의 모습을 모사 한것 이라 한다. 하나님을 떠난 사람은 이 신도 섬기고 저 신도 섬기고 이상한 신앙을 가진 사람들이 되는 것이다. 여기도 복을 받고 저기도 받고 다 복 받을것만 생각 하는 것이다. 교회를 다니더라도 오직 그리스도 되지 않고 여기 저기 다니며 이상한 짓 하는 사람들이다. 우리 현장에서도 많이 들어보지 않나. 목사님들 까지도 무당에게 찾아가서 어디 땅을 사면 좋을지, 앞으로 무슨 일이 생기게 될지 이런것 저런것 묻는다고 한다. WCC 라고 또 종교 단체가 있다. 그 사람들은 진정한 하나님의 응답을 받지 못한 사람들이다. 이 사람들 주장은 동성애도 옳다 하는 것이다. 모든 종교는 다 똑같으니 유일한 신을 주장하지 마라 이 주장이다. 불교, 유교, 이슬람 다 같다 하는 말이다. 프리메이슨도 주장한다, 그리스도만 이야기 하지 말라고 한다. WCC 가 주장하는 것이 그리스도만 답 있다 이야기 하지 말라 이 말이다. 왜 그런다. 응답을 몰라서 그렇다. 모든 기준은 육신, 여론, 철학이며 여기에 모든 것을 방향 맞추고 있는 것이다. 이것 때문에 세상이 점점 어려워진다.
2) 칼에 붙일 것 To be put to the sword
사 Isaiah 65:12
사 Isaiah 43:21
12절, “내가 너희를 칼에 붙일 것인즉 다 구푸리고 죽임을 당하리니 이는 내가 불러도 너희가 대답하지 아니하며 내가 말하여도 듣지 아니하고 나의 눈에 악을 행하였으며 내가 즐겨하지 아니하는 일을 택하였음이니라”. 오직 그리스도, 복음 되지 아니하면 어려움 당할수 밖에 없다. 칼에 붙일것이고 구푸리고 죽임 당한다 하는 말은 우상숭배 할때 엎드린것처럼 그런식으로 죽임을 당할것 이라는 것을 말한다. “내가 불러도 너희가 대답하지 아니하며 내가 말하여도 듣지 아니하고” 하나님 없는 사람들의 제일 큰 특징은 “나의 눈에 악을 행하였으며” 이렇게 하면서도 모르는 것이다. 하나님께서 모든것을 다 보고 계시고 알고 계신데도 전혀 하나님을 의식 하지도 두려워 하지도 않은 채 나쁜 짓을 하는 것이다. 세상에는 악하지 않은것 처럼 보이는 악도 있다. 악하지 않은것 처럼 보이는 악은 바로 하나님을 두려워 하지 않는 것이다. 하나님을 두려워 하지 않는 자는 하나님을 멸시 하는 자 이다. 이런 사람들이 하는 짓은 “내가 즐겨하지 아니하는 일을 택하였음이라” 하나님이 싫어하시는 일만 골라 한다. 다시말해 하나님의 창조 목적을 상실한것을 말한다. 사 43:21, “이 백성은 내가 나를 위하여 지었나니 나의 찬송을 부르게 하려 함이니라.” 우리가 가진 최고의 응답은 하나님을 찬송 하는것이다. 믿음을 가지는것이다. 하나님께 영광 돌리는 삶을 사는 것이다. 이러한 분들에게는 777의 응답, 보좌의 응답이 있을줄을 믿는다.
3. 보좌의 축복 The Blessing of the Throne
1) 기도 24 Prayer 24
빌 Philippians 4:6-7
우리는 기도의 24로 들어가야겠다. 빌 4:6-7, “아무 것도 염려하지 말고 다만 모든 일에 기도와 간구로, 너희 구할 것을 감사함으로 하나님께 아뢰라. 7 그리하면 모든 지각에 뛰어난 하나님의 평강이 그리스도 예수 안에서 너희 마음과 생각을 지키시리라.” 여러분의 모든 문제 걱정 말고 오직 기도와 간구로 구할것을 감사함으로 하나님께 아뢰야 한다. 하나님은 절대주권자 이시다. 한 사람의 믿음을 보고 전체를 다 살렸다. 여러분들이 정말 이 언약의 말씀 붙들고 믿고 들어가게 되면 여러분 하나 때문에 모든 상황을 다 바꾸실줄을 믿는다.
2) 기능 24 Skills 24
시 Psalm 78:71-72
우리 기능서밋 24로 누리시기를 바란다, 시 78:71-72, “젖 양을 지키는 중에서 그들을 이끌어 내사 그의 백성인 야곱, 그의 소유인 이스라엘을 기르게 하셨더니 72 이에 그가 그들을 자기 마음의 완전함으로 기르고 그의 손의 능숙함으로 그들을 지도하였도다”. 다윗이 양을 최선을 다해 길렀을때 하나님께서는 그 기능을 통해 양으로 삼으셨다. 우리 렘넌트들은 공부 100%로 하기를 바란다. 공부할때 죽을 둥 살 둥 으로 해야한다. 시간남으면 공부하는 수준으로 안된다, 진짜 공부 집중해야한다. 산업인들은 100%기도 하면서 그 분야의 전문가가 되어야한다. 그 직업에 생명 걸어야 한다. 최고의 작품이 여러분들 기업에서 나와야한다. 여러분들 이 작품을 보고 멀리서도 찾아올 정도로 누려야 한다.
3) 누림 24 Enjoyment 24
요 John 14:26-27
누림 24 되시기를 바란다. 요 14:26-27, “보혜사 곧 아버지께서 내 이름으로 보내실 성령 그가 너희에게 모든 것을 가르치고 내가 너희에게 말한 모든 것을 생각나게 하리라. 27 평안을 너희에게 끼치노니 곧 나의 평안을 너희에게 주노라 내가 너희에게 주는 것은 세상이 주는 것과 같지 아니하니라 너희는 마음에 근심하지도 말고 두려워하지도 말라.” 저는 마음에 평강이 없을때 이 기도를 드린다. 이 말씀을 외우면서 이대로 성취되게 해달라고 기도한다. 그럴때 하나님께서 내게 평강을 주신다. 이 말씀 외우면서 주님 앞에 기도 하게 되면 내 안에 있는 흑암이 무너지게 된다. 이 축복 누리시기를 바란다.
결론 Conclusion
마 Matthew 6:33
마 6:33, “그런즉 너희는 먼저 그의 나라와 그의 의를 구하라 그리하면 이 모든 것을 너희에게 더하시리라.” 100%로 하시기 바란다. 그렇게 되면 놀라운 응답의 역사가 있을줄 믿는다.

8 Thus says the Lord: “As the new wine is found in the cluster, And one says, ‘Do not destroy it, For a blessing is in it,’ So will I do for My servants’ sake, That I may not destroy them all. 9 I will bring forth descendants from Jacob, And from Judah an heir of My mountains; My elect shall inherit it, And My servants shall dwell there. 10 Sharon shall be a fold of flocks, And the Valley of Achor a place for herds to lie down, For My people who have sought Me. 11 “But you are those who forsake the Lord, Who forget My holy mountain, Who prepare a table for Gad, And who furnish a drink offering for Meni. 12 Therefore I will number you for the sword, And you shall all bow down to the slaughter; Because, when I called, you did not answer; When I spoke, you did not hear, But did evil before My eyes, And chose that in which I do not delight.
Introduction
As you may have seen on the news, the South Korean president implemented martial law. Usually, the people will declare martial law to overthrow the president but that wasn’t the case this time. The president, himself, declared martial law. This is something that has never happened. What probably happened was that he forgot that he was the president of South Korea. He forgot who he was. He forgot his identity and authority. A president possesses great power and authority but he was not aware of that at all. I heard that the president attends church but I think of himself no better than a nonbeliever. If this person truly believes in God and knows how to pray, then the situation would have been different. Why did God give a president such a great blessing and if he knew of this, then it would’ve been a different scenario for him. The fact that God gave him the role of a president and asked God what God’s purpose was for him as a president, it would’ve changed the situation as a whole. Everyone in this world goes through difficulties and hardships but despite what situations come to us, if we pray and receive God’s guidance then we can experience God’s great works. This was so unfortunate what happened in South Korea. I wonder how God will work through this event. From this, I think we shouldn’t just look towards the president. We need to look beyond this. We need to understand that God has given us status and authority as children of God. This status and authority, if we enjoy it wholeheartedly, then no problem is a problem for us. We need to understand the mystery on how to revive answers. God has given us an important message.
1. The Remnant
1) True Believers
Verse 8 - Why did the Israelites worship idols? The chosen people of God? But the nations who were tormenting Israel, Assyria and Babylon were worshiping idols. The Israelites thought that the idols that the nations Babylon and Assyria worshiped were so powerful because these nations were so powerful as well. The Israelites thought that the idols helped Babylon and Assyria become blessed financially and powerful as nations. When they saw this, they sought after idols. But when you look at today’s Biblical scripture, it says that God sees the actions of the Israelites like a cluster, a weed that He wants to put out. In the midst of that, there was something important. Among those clusters of weed, God found something. He found a vine that was producing something. It was easier for God to rip out all of the clusters of weed and destroy all of that but God decides to spare one vine. God said that there was blessing within it, within that one vine. All of the clusters were rotting away but God said that there was still blessing remaining in it, within that one vine. This means that there were people who were still holding onto faith in God and still looking up to God. God wanted to get rid of everything but when He saw at least one good vine, He spared that one vine. This is a very important message here.
We need to think about the example of Sodom and Gomorrah. In Genesis 18:32 “Then he said, ‘Let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak but once more: Suppose ten should be found there?’ And He said, ‘I will not destroy it for the sake of ten.’ ” - In Sodom and Gomorrah, they were all corrupt but when God said that He saw at least 10 righteous people then He said that He will spare the city. Even among those people, God saw how precious the few people who were righteous before God were. If there were only 10 righteous people, God was willing to spare that city.
Verse 8 - God said that He will not destroy them all. Because of His servants, God said that He will not destroy them all. This is why it is important to look at the words here, “Servants’ sake.”
Acts 27:24 “Saying, ‘Do not be afraid, Paul; you must be brought before Caesar; and indeed God has granted you all those who sail with you.’ ” - Because of one person, Paul, people on the boat were able to live. Because of one person, Paul, they were all able to live. This shows how one well ripped vine is important to God. Are you that one well ripped vine that God is looking for? Through your faith and prayer, many people will live. To God, He is waiting for your prayers. May you become people who pleases God the most with your prayers. All of our remnants and church officers, may you save your entire region and people around you.
2) The Holy Seed
Verses 9-10 - The holy seed is referring to the remaining remnant in Isaiah 6:13 “But yet a tenth will be in it, And will return and be for consuming, As a terebinth tree or as an oak, Whose stump remains when it is cut down. So the holy seed shall be its stump.” God said that He will bring forth the holy seed, the remnant. God will raise up the holy seed. Judah was completely desolate and destroyed but God promised that He will restore it through the covenant of Abraham. God promised that His elect will inherit this land. Who are God's servants? Those who were chosen by God and received God’s grace. Those who obey God's word are those who are chosen by God. We need to let go of everything and follow only God. This is what it means to be chosen by God. In order for you to understand this easily, I will explain to you once again.
I will give you the example of the widow of Zarephath. 1 Kings 17:9 “ 'Arise, go to Zarephath, which belongs to Sidon, and dwell there. See, I have commanded a widow there to provide for you.' ” - God commanded Elijah to go to Zarephath and find a widow there. Elijah met the widow there and asked her for bread. But if God commands that Elijah will meet a widow, then if Elijah asks this widow for bread, then this widow should’ve given him bread without any forethought. Elijah couldn’t understand this situation and God’s plan here. But Elijah first gave God’s word to the widow. Elijah told this widow that if you give your bread to him, then God will never allow her to go thirsty or hungry ever again. The widow was living in a region that was full of idol worship and this widow was also an idol worshiper. The widow was trying to think if she should believe in the words of Elijah or continue to trust her idols. At that time, the widow concluded to believe in the words of God and gave Elijah the bread. After her resolution, God commanded Elijah. This means that this was all part of God’s plan to save her. We can see God’s work here. The widow decided to make a resolution when she heard the word of God. God works through those who are chosen. God blessed the widow tremendously after her resolution. Even during the time of famine, God made sure that she never went hungry for three years. Because of the prayers of Elijah, everyone was able to live because of him. An obedient servant are those who obey God’s word. Are you going to choose God’s word or the world? That is the difference of those who are God’s servant who are obedient. When we obey God’s word, then the first blessings that come to us are physical health and physical things in your life will flourish and be restored.
Verse 10 - If you obey God during the most difficult times in your life, you will find the answers. That is why it is so important for us to make the resolution of faith. Many people look towards the world but it is really nothing. When you hold onto God’s word and go out to the world, then that is the start of all blessings.
2. The Forsaken
1) The Disobedient
Verse 11 - Many people discard God because He looks like someone who can’t offer much. You leave God, God’s word, and worship. Meni is the god of destiny, many Israelites left God for the god of Meni. Calvin was saying that the Israelites were only worshiping things that they could only see. They were seeking after so many things to worship. They thought that if they worship these idols, then they thought that blessings will come to them. Even if you attend church and don’t become only Christ, then you have no choice but to do strange things. We saw in the fields that there are pastors who seek after the counsel of shamans regarding their ministry. There are many pastors who have not received true answers from God and they go around and saying that homosexuality is okay. They also say that all religions are the same and one. The FreeMasons are saying not to say, only Christ and that you can only be saved through only Christ. Why do they say that? They don’t know what the true answer is. They base all of their answers towards success, worldly desires, and greed. That is why the world is getting worse and worse.
2) To be put to the sword
Verse 12 - If you are not only gospel and only Christ, then you will not receive true answers. You have no choice but to face death when you worship idols and other things other than God. You will be put to the sword. Those who don’t have Christ, the main characteristic is that you do evil before God’s eyes. God sees and hears everything but you act like God doesn’t see or hear anything and everything. You ignore God completely. There is something more evil than evil is when you act like you are not evil, you don’t believe that God is alive and don’t fear God. Those who don’t fear, you will look down on God. What will they do? You do things that God despises. In other words, you lose the purpose of why God created the world in the first place.
Isaiah 43:21 “This people I have formed for Myself; They shall declare My praise.” - The greatest answer of all is that we can give praise to God. Living that life is the greatest life and a life of great answers. Those who do this, you will receive the answer of 7-7-7 and heavenly throne.
3. The Blessing of the Throne
1) Prayer 24
I believe that everyone has a problem but hold onto Philippians 4:6-7 “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” - God has absolute power and sovereignty. God saved everyone because of one person. When you hold onto God’s covenant with faith, then God will change everything around you because of you.
2) Skills 24
Psalm 78:71-72 “From following the ewes that had young He brought him, To shepherd Jacob His people, And Israel His inheritance. 72 So he shepherded them according to the integrity of his heart, And guided them by the skillfulness of his hands.” - David shepherd with his greatest ability and through his skill, God raised him up as king. Our remnants, may you study 100%. May you put your best efforts into your studies. Do your best. May you do your best 100% within your jobs. You need to stake your life for your job. May God’s greatest masterpiece come from your job. You need to do so good that people will come far away to look at your masterpiece and the efforts of your job.
3) Enjoyment 24
When I don’t have any peace in my heart, this is the message that I hold onto. John 14:26-27 “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. 27 Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” - I memorize it and God gives me peace. When I memorize this Scripture and pray to God, I feel all darkness depart from me. May you enjoy this peace.
Conclusion
Hold onto Matthew 6:33 “But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” - Do it 100%. Then great answers will come to you.
