생명의 능력되신 그리스도(히7:16-21)
서론
올해 초 송구영신 예배 때 받은 말씀이 성경 다섯 구절이었다. 이 성경 다섯 구절을 저는 일년 내내 정시기도 때 빠지지 않고 기도했다. 기도하다보니까 이것이 나의 언약의 여정이 되고 나의 신앙의 방향이 되었다. 기도할 때 마다 나의 신앙 고백이 되고 나의 간구의 기도제목이 되었다. 그러면서 자연적으로 24시가 되어져가는 것을 느낀다. 저는 이 기도를 하면서 느낀 것이 마지막 주신 말씀 렘33:2-3 말씀이 성취되는 것을 느낀다. 일을 행하시는 여호와 일을 만들며 성취하시는 여호와라 했다. 역시 모든 것을 하나님께서 주장하시고 계획하시고 뜻하신데로 이루어가고 계신다는 것을 볼 수 있었다. 제가 자라면서 학교를 다니면서 직장에 들어가고 신학교를 들어가고 미국에 온 것, 이 교회에서 여러분 만난 것을 생각해보니까 모든 사건 하나 하나 전부다 하나님께서 인도하고 계시다는 것을 느낄 수 있었다. 특별히 느끼는 것은 내 인생은 내 계획대로 되는 것이 아니구나 하는 것이다. 철저하게 하나님의 계획대로 하나님의 뜻을 이루어가고 계시는 것을 느낄 수 있었다. 저는 지금 기도하고 있습니다만 내년에는 또 어떤 말씀을 주실까 기대하고 있다. 송구영신 예배를 드릴 때 분명한 언약을 제시해주실 것이다. 분명한 것은 주신 말씀은 틀림없이 우리의 생각과 뜻이 아니라 하나님께서 우리를 통해서 행하실 계획이 선포된 말씀이다. 지금까지 하나님께서 송구영신 예배 때 주신 말씀이 하나도 빠지지않고 성취되었다. 올 해는 완전히 내 언약이 되고 신앙 고백이 되어버렸다. 지금 이런 가운데 하나님께서 내년에 대한 계획이 무엇일까 기대가 된다. 확실하게 분명하게 성취될 줄로 믿는다. 오늘 굉장히 중요한 말씀을 하나님께서 주셨다.
1. 영원한 생명
1) 멜기세덱의 반차
히 7:16 그는 육신에 속한 한 계명의 법을 따르지 아니하고 오직 불멸의 생명의 능력을 따라 되었으니
예수님이 하신 말씀이다. 모세의 율법과는 전혀 상관이 없는 분이라는 말이다. 그 분은 불멸의 생명의 능력을 따라 제사장이 되신 분이라고 한다. 멸망이라는 단어조차 없으신 영원한 생명의 능력을 가지신 분이라는 것이다.
히 7:17 증언하기를 네가 영원히 멜기세덱의 반차를 따르는 제사장이라 하였도다
멜기세덱이라는 말이 계속 나오고 있다. 7장에서만 멜기세덱이라는 단어가 6번이나 반복되서 나온다. 왜 자꾸만 나오는가. 15절 말씀에 멜기세덱과 같이 별다른 한 제사장이 일어났다고 나온다. 멜기세덱이 예수님이 아니라는 의미이다. 멜기세덱 처럼 레위 가문과는 전혀 다른 특별하신 대제사장이 예수님이라는 말이다. 그 분이 어떻게 나오셨느냐. 불멸의 생명의 능력을 따라서 나오셨다는 것이다. 그 분의 제사장 직분은 하나님께서 임명하신 것이라는 말이다. 하나님께서 임명하셔서 대제사장이 되셨다. 이번에 교회에서 중직자 투표도 했습니다만, 교회에서 중직자로 선출되는 것은 사람이 하는 것이 아니다. 하나님께서 특별히 임명하시는 직분이다. 여기에는 반드시 축복이 있다. 예수님이 임명을 받아서 제사장 직분을 행하신 것 처럼 우리에게 주신 직분도 그런 축복이 있다.
2) 연약한 율법
히 7:18 전에 있던 계명은 연약하고 무익하므로 폐하고
연약하고 무익하다는 것은 율법은 아무 능력도 없고 도움이 되는 것이 없다는 말이다. 율법이 능력이 없다는 것이다. 이것을 복음서를 보고 확인해볼 수 있다. 사복음서를 보게되면 예수님께서 행하신 사역이 기록되어있다. 말씀을 전하는 사역이 있었고 질병을 치유하는 사역이 있었다. 수많은 환자들이 찾아온다. 중풍병자, 눈먼자, 간질병, 38년된 환자, 혈루증 환자, 귀신들린 많은 사람들이 찾아와서 예수님을 만나서 치유받는다. 예수님께서 이들을 치유하시기 위해서 쉬지도 못하시고 다니셨다. 이것은 그만큼 유대 나라에 저주와 재앙이 많았다는 것을 의미한다. 하나님 백성인데 왜 그렇게 귀신들리고 저주받은 고통받는 사람들이 많았는가. 사도행전에 사도바울이 마게도냐와 소아시아 지역에서 많은 병자를 고친다. 하나님이 세우신 이스라엘 나라나 우상 나라나 저주받은 모양은 비슷하다. 성경을 들고있어도 율법으로 받고 종교로 받으면 아무 능력이 없다는 것이다.
히 7:19（율법은 아무 것도 온전하게 못할지라） --
율법은 아무 힘이 없고 능력이 없다. 성경책을 들고있어도 옳다 그르다만 판단하고 있으면 전혀 능력이 안타난다는 것이다. 하나님께서는 말씀을 주실 때 남을 정죄하라고 주신 것이 아니다. 그 사람들이 성경을 가지고 죄만 발견하기 바빴다. 아무 힘 없이 불신자와 똑같은 운명과 사주팔자에 빠져서 고통받을 수 밖에 없는 것이다. 정말로 잘 잡으셔야 한다. 말씀을 잡을 때 생명을 살리는 말씀을 잡아야지 남을 정죄하는 말씀을 잡으면 똑같이 된다.
히 7:19 --이에 더 좋은 소망이 생기니 이것으로 우리가 하나님께 가까이 가느니라
더 좋은 소망이라는 말은 예수님께서 제사장으로 오신다는 것이다.
막 10:45 인자의 온 것은 섬김을 받으려 함이 아니라 도리어 섬기려 하고 자기 목숨을 많은 사람의 대속물로 주려 함이니라
예수님께서 실제로 오셔서 돌아가셔서 우리 죄 문제를 해결하신 것이다. 복음되신 예수님께서 실제적으로 죄 문제를 해결하시고 사람을 살리셨다. 실질적으로 구원시키셨다. 이것이 예수님께서 공생애에서 하신 말씀이다. 마귀는 그런 것을 다 잊어버리게 만들고 정죄하도록 해서 축복을 다 놓치게 만든다. 그리고 중요한 말씀이 20절에 나타난다.
2. 맹세로 된 것
1) 영원한 제사장
히 7:20 또 예수께서 제사장이 되신 것은 맹세 없이 된 것이 아니니
예수님께서 제사장이 되신 것은 하나님이 맹세하신 것이라는 말이다. 그런데 이 맹세라는 단어가 20-21절 두 절에만 봐도 네 번이나 나타난다.
히 7:21（그들은 맹세 없이 제사장이 되었으되 오직 예수는 자기에게 말씀하신 이로 말미암아 맹세로 되신 것이라 주께서 맹세하시고 뉘우치지 아니하시리니 네가 영원히 제사장이라 하셨도다
하나님께서는 예수 그리스도를 제사장으로 보내시는 것을 맹세하고 맹세하고 맹세하고 맹세하신 것이다. 맹세하시고 그 아들을 이 땅에 보내시겠다는 것이다. 하나님의 최고 관심이 무엇이기에 자꾸 맹세하시는가. 다른게 아니라 우리를 구원시키는 것 때문이다. 생명 구원하는 것이다. 고통받는 자를 살리는 것이다. 그것을 위해서 예수님을 이 땅에 보내시는 것을 맹세에 맹세하신 것이다. 여기서 느끼시는 것이 없는가. 하나님께서 맹세하고 맹세하시면 너희를 구원하기 위해 내 아들을 보내겠다 하시는 것을 보면서 느끼시는 것이 없는가. 이것은 저와 여러분들을 너무나 너무나 귀하게 여기신다는 것이다. 우리는 제대로 영광돌리지도 못하는데 하나님은 우리는 너무나 사랑하신다.
습 3:17 너의 하나님 여호와가 너의 가운데에 계시니 그는 구원을 베푸실 전능자이시라 그가 너로 말미암아 기쁨을 이기지 못하시며 너를 잠잠히 사랑하시며 너로 말미암아 즐거이 부르며 기뻐하시리라 하리라
우리와 함께 계신 하나님께서는 우리를 구원하실 수 있는 전능하신 하나님이라는 것이다. 그 분이 우리를 얼마나 사랑하시는지 우리를 말미암아 기쁨을 이기지 못하신다. 얼굴만 봐도 기쁨이 넘쳐서 기쁨을 절제하지 못하시는 것이다. 너무나 기뻐버리면 기쁜 것도 감당을 못한다. 하나님께서 여러분들을 그렇게 사랑하신다. 또 잠잠히 사랑하신다고 나온다. 그 깊은 사랑을 말로 못하는 것이다. 너로 말미암아 즐거이 부르며 기뻐하신다. 얼굴만 쳐다봐도 너무나 기쁜 것이다. 우리가 제대로 기도도 못한다. 그런데 더듬더듬 기도하는 것도 기뻐하시면서 찾으신다. 하나님께서는 우리를 어마어마하게 사랑하신다. 이것을 영적인 눈을 뜨고 알아야겠다.
사 43:4 네가 내 눈에 보배롭고 존귀하며 내가 너를 사랑하였은즉--
여러분들을 하나님께서는 보배라고 하신다. 뿐만 아니라 존귀한 존재이다. 자식들 보면 얼마나 귀하고 존귀한다. 그렇게 귀하고 존귀한 것이다. 이것이 여러분들을 향한 하나님의 사랑이다. 그렇기 때문에 그리스도를 이 땅에 보내신 것이다. 대충 구원하자 하고 보내신 것이 아니라 너무나 사랑하셔서 보내신 것이다.
2) 영원하신 그리스도
히 2:14-15 자녀들은 혈과 육에 속하였으매 그도 또한 같은 모양으로 혈과 육을 함께 지니심은 죽음을 통하여 죽음의 세력을 잡은 자 곧 마귀를 멸하시며 15 또 죽기를 무서워하므로 한평생 매여 종 노릇 하는 모든 자들을 놓아 주려 하심이니
인간들을 어떻게 구원하느냐 생각하시다가 인간이 혈과 육을 가졌으니 나도 혈과 육을 가지고 나가야겠구나 생각하신 것이다. 혈과 육을 가지면 사람들이 죽어야한다. 주님께서 똑같이 혈과 육을 입고 죽으시기 위해서 오셨다. 이 죽음의 권세를 잡고 있는 것이 마귀이기 때문에 죽으심으로 마귀를 깨뜨리기 위해서 오신 것이다. 한평생 종 노릇하는 자들을 놓아주기 위해서 오신 것이다. 많은 사람들이 죽음을 두려워한다. 귀신을 만날까 벌벌 떤다. 귀신은 전혀 죽일 수 있는 힘이 없는데 말이다. 죽이느냐 살리느냐는 하나님께서 정하시는 건데 귀신이 협박하니까 벌벌 떨고 앉았다. 우리가 얼마나 많이 속는지 모른다. 죽느냐 사느냐 결정은 하나님께서 하신다.
히 5:9-10 온전하게 되셨은즉 자기에게 순종하는 모든 자에게 영원한 구원의 근원이 되시고 10 하나님께 멜기세덱의 반차를 따른 대제사장이라 칭하심을 받으셨느니라
영접하는 자마다, 믿고 따르는 자마다, 회개를 구하는 자마다 응답하시고 용서하시는 것이다. 너무나 사랑하셔서 우리 죄를 회개하는 순간에 없어져버린다. 그것을 하시기 위해서 오신 분이 멜기세덱의 반차를 따른 대제사장이라 칭하심을 받으셨다.
히 3:14 우리가 시작할 때에 확신한 것을 끝까지 견고히 잡고 있으면 그리스도와 함께 참여한 자가 되리라
우리가 언약을 잡게되면 그리스도와 함께 참여하는 자가 되는 축복을 받는다. 주님께서는 하늘과 땅의 모든 권세를 가지신 분이다. 그 분께서 함께하시면 능치 못한 일이 없다. 그러면 우리가 해야될 것이 무엇인가.
3. 그리스도의 사역
1) 치유 사역
롬 12:1 그러므로 형제들아 내가 하나님의 모든 자비하심으로 너희를 권하노니 너희 몸을 하나님이 기뻐하시는 거룩한 산 제물로 드리라 이는 너희가 드릴 영적 예배니라
나를 그렇게 사랑하시고 십자가에 못박혀 돌아가신 그 분에게 내 모든 것이 맡기라는 말이다. 저는 이것을 갖고 응답을 받은 적이 있다. 어디 다녀왔는데 몸이 안좋고 열이 나기 시작했다. 하루가 지나니까 열이 더났다. 내가 스스로 만드니까 열이 펄펄나고 뜨거웠다. 코로나인가 싶어서 무릎을 꿇고 주님 앞에 기도했다. 이 말씀을 잡았다. 저는 주님 것입니다. 내 모든 사느냐 죽느냐는 주님의 손에 달린 줄로 믿습니다. 내 몸을 주님 앞에 드립니다. 내 인생을 주님께 드립니다. 하나님께서 이 땅에서 하실 일이 있으시면 하나님께서 응답해달라고 했다. 그 때는 사생결단의 기도였다. 주님 앞에 일대일로 간절히 기도했다. 간절히 기도한 그 순간에 이상한 일이 일어났다. 열이 나던것이 여기서부터 차가운 기운이 솩 내려왔다. 그래서 이 말씀을 꼭 기억한다. 마 12장에 귀신들린 자를 치유하는 사건이 나온다. 우리가 어떻게 기도해야하는지를 기록한 것이다. 귀신이 쫓겨나갔다가 갈데가 없으니까 자기 옛날 빈집에 찾아왔더니 비어서 악한 친구 일곱을 대려와서 더 악하게 만들었다는 이야기다. 많은 사람들은 교회 다니는 사람들도 귀신들린 사람이나 병자들을 낫게하기 위해서 귀신아 물러가라 하면서 쫓아낸다. 그런데 귀신이 쫓겨난 그 사람 안에는 아무것도 없는 것이다. 복음도 그리스도도 없다. 예수님의 이름으로 쫓겨나갔는데 귀신이 다시 와서 보니까 주인이 없다. 옳다구나 하고 일곱 귀신을 더 데려와서 자리를 잡는다. 치유하기 이전에 먼저 성령을 주인으로 모실 수 있도록 만들라는 것이다. 성령과 말씀이 가득찼다 하면 다시 들어올 수 없다. 병을 치료하고 난 다음에 교회도 안나오고 아무것도 안하고 놀러다니다면 그 틈을 타서 일곱이 들어오는 것이다. 옛날보다 더 심각하게 되는 것이다.
마 6:33 그런즉 너희는 먼저 그의 나라와 그의 의를 구하라 그리하면 이 모든 것을 너희에게 더하시리라
먼저 언약을 잡고있어야 한다. 내 마음 가운데 오직 그리스도, 하나님 나라, 성령 충만을 잡고있게 되면 하나님께서 모든 것을 이루어나가신다. 이 언약을 잡게되면 세가지 응답이 온다고 1부예배에서 말씀을 들었다. 언약을 가진 여러분들이 받을 응답이다.
2) 정복자가 누릴 응답
열두 정탐꾼들이 가데스바네아에서 가나안 땅에 들어갔던 이야기이다. 말씀을 미리 응답받는 방법을 갖고 가야한다는 말이다. 열두 명이 갔는데 열 명은 말씀을 붙들지 않고 갔고 여호수아, 갈렙은 모세가 한 말씀을 붙들고 갔다. 여호수아 갈렙은 모세를 통해서 하나님이 주신 말씀, 너희는 가나안에 반드시 들어갈 것이라는 말씀이 분명히 있으니까 확신을 갖고 들어간 것이다. 말씀없이 들어간 사람들은 보니까 너무나 무서운 것이다. 말씀을 가지고 들어간 사람은 우리가 살 땅이구나 한 것이다. 말씀을 잡았다는 것은 내가 미리 응답을 받았구나 하는 것이다. 두번째는 이 말씀이 현장에서 역사하는 것을 본다. 여호수아 갈렙은 분명히 하나님께서 말씀하신 젖과 꿀이 흐르는 땅이라는 것을 알았다. 아무리 강한 군대가 있더라도 상관이 없었다. 더군다나 하나님께서 함께하신다는 것을 잡았다. 현장에 가서도 하나님께서 함께하시는 것을 잡았던 것이다. 그러니까 우리는 틀림없이 이긴다는 확신을 가진 것이다. 우리가 하나님께서 나와 함께하시는 것을 붙잡지 못하면 어딜가든지 두렵다. 겁나고 자신이 없다. 하나님께서 함께하시는 것을 붙잡게되면 뭐든지 자신이 있다. 분명히 하나님께서 함께하시니까 좋은 결과가 생기면 좋고 나쁜 결과가 생겨도 하나님의 계획과 더 큰 축복을 믿는 것이다. 이렇게 차이가 난다. 그 다음에 말씀에 미션화라고 있다. 이것이 우리에게 가장 중요하다. 열두 지파가 가나안 땅에 들어가기 전에 하나님께서는 미리 그들이 살 땅을 준비하셨다. 들어가서 자기 땅으로 막바로 차지해버린다. 왜 가나안 땅에 들어가게 하셨는가. 가나안 땅을 통해서 세계복음화 하시기 위해서 그들을 가나안 땅으로 보내셨다. 다시 말씀드리면 우리가 왜 응답을 받았는가. 하나님의 뜻과 계획이 있다는 것이다. 세계복음화를 위해서, 세상에 예수가 그리스도된 사실을 알리기 위해서 가나안 땅에 보내신 것이다. 성경에서 제일 많이 한 말씀이 무엇인가. 모든 족속이다. 아브라함을 통해서 처음에 말씀하실 때 모든 족속이 너를 통해서 복을 받을 것이라고 하셨다. 예수님께서도 모든 민족에게 복음을 전하라고 하셨다. 땅 끝까지 전하라고 하셨다. 237나라 살리라는 것이다. 우리에게 주어진 언약이다. 점점 이상한 사람들이 많이 나타나고 있다. 왜 그런가. 우리에게 그들을 치유하러 가라는 하나님의 명령인 줄로 믿는다. 하나님께서는 이 복음을 통해서 우리에게 치유를 약속하고 계신다. 이를 위해서 우리가 말씀을 받고 있는 줄로 믿는다. 반드시 언약잡은 자에게는 하나님께서 응답하신다.
결론
렘 33:2-3 일을 행하시는 여호와, 그것을 만들며 성취하시는 여호와, 그의 이름을 여호와라 하는 이가 이와 같이 이르시도다. 3 너는 내게 부르짖으라 내가 네게 응답하겠고 네가 알지 못하는 크고 은밀한 일을 네게 보이리라
모든 것은 하나님께서 주관하신다. 죽고 사는 것은 하나님께서 결정하신다. 성공이냐 실패냐도 하나님께서 결정하신다. 내 인생 내가 사는 것 같지만 하나님께서 인도하고 계신다. 그렇다면 하나님께 맡기시기 바란다. 그리고 기도하시라. 큰 응답의 역사가 나타날 줄로 믿는다.
Christ the Power of Life (Hebrews 7:16-21)

“16 who has come, not according to the law of a fleshly commandment, but according to the power of an endless life. 17 For He testifies: 'You are a priest forever According to the order of Melchizedek.' 18 For on the one hand there is an annulling of the former commandment because of its weakness and unprofitableness, 19 for the law made nothing perfect; on the other hand, there is the bringing in of a better hope, through which we draw near to God. 20 And inasmuch as He was not made priest without an oath 21 (for they have become priests without an oath, but He with an oath by Him who said to Him: 'The Lord has sworn And will not relent, You are a priest forever According to the order of Melchizedek.’ ”
Introduction
From the New Year’s message, I received 5 Bible verses. I have been meditating on them every single day during my scheduled prayer time. As I have been meditating on them, they have become my covenant journey as well as my source of direction. Whenever I pray, this would become my confession of faith as well as a prayer to God. Naturally, 24 hours took place in my life. When I pray, I feel the message of Jeremiah 33:2-3 being fulfilled in my life. God is sovereign over all things and He is in control of all things. Until now from the moment I started school all the way to my immigration to America, I realized that every incident and event was perfectly guided by God. What I felt particularly was that nothing was part of my plan or goes according to my plan. Everything happens according to God's perfect plan and I was able to feel this. I am praying about this but I am looking forward to the message that God will give to me for the year of 2021. When we have our New Year’s message, I am sure God will give us a direction. What is absolute is that the message that God gives to us is not according to our own thoughts and desires but it is part of God’s plan and His word will absolutely be fulfilled in our lives. Until now, God has given to us the message from the New Year’s and His word has been fulfilled until now. For the next year, this has become my confession of faith. During this pandemic and situation, I wonder what God’s plan is for us next year. What is absolute is that His word will absolutely be fulfilled. God has given to us an important message today.
1. Eternal Life
1) The order of Melchizedek
Verses 16-17 - This is talking about Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ was a being that was nothing part of the law of Moses. What this means is that Jesus Christ has become a priest according to the power of the endless life. Jesus Christ has an eternal life with has no limitations.
Verse 17 - We have continued to speak about Melchizedek. The name of Melchizedek was mentioned six times in chapter 17. Why has been repeated?
Hebrews 7:15 - Jesus is not Melchizedek and Melchizedek is not Jesus. Just like Melchizedek, Jesus Christ is a special priest. How was Melchizedek described? HE came according to the power of the endless life. The background of Jesus’ priesthood was given and came from God. God appointed Jesus as the eternal priest. Within our church, we elected our church officers and the act that you have been appointed as church officers was not done according to human works and deeds but God specifically appointed the church officers for our church. Within this, there are absolute blessings behind them. Just like Jesus was appointed by God, we also have been appointed by God as church officers within our church.
2) The Law is weak
Verses 18-19 - What is weak and annulling is the law which means that the law has no power and manginess. The law has no power. We need to interpret this within the gospel. Within the first books of the New Testament, we can see Jesus’ ministry. We can see the ministry of Jesus of healing by healing diseases. Jesus healed many diseases such as demon possessed people, crippled, paralyzed, and diseased people. In order to heal these people, Jesus couldn’t rest but always went around to heal the people. What does this mean? This shows that there were curses and disasters upon the land of the Jews and the Jewish land. They were considered people of God but why are there so many suffering people, demon possessed people, and diseased?
If we look at this, we can see Paul going to Macedonia and healing diseased people. The land of Israel and Judah that God raised up, there was no difference between regions that were considered non-Jewish land, everyone was suffering and diseased. Even though they held onto the Bible, they were only living a life of legalism and the gospel had no power in their lives.
Verse 19 - The law had no power and was not able to do anything for them. Even though they held onto the Bible, they tried to make their judgments but it had no meaning at all. When God gave them the word and the law, it was not to control or judge people. They used the Bible to only discover their sins and the sins of people around them. That is why they had no choice but to live in suffering just like nonbelievers. You need to hold onto this correctly. When you hold onto the word, you need to hold onto life and not use it to judge or criticize others.
Verse 19 “...There is the bringing in of a better hope…” - Better hope was referring to Jesus coming as the true priest.
Mark 10:45 (“For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.”) - Jesus realistically came onto EARth and solved our sins once and for all. Jesus who was the gospel realistically came to earth and saved us. Jesus Christ completed this realistically. This was the work of Jesus Christ. This was the reason why He came. Satan makes us forget this but only focus on the wrongdoings, criticize others, and makes us lose hold of the gospel.
2. What is Done by Oath
1) The eternal priest
Verses 20-21 - The important message is seen in verse 20 - The reason why Jesus came as the priest was because God appointed Jesus as the priest through an oath.
Verse 21 - the word oath is spoken and written four times in verses 20-21. There is a reason why Jesus came as the priest through God’s appointment was because God made an oath to send us Jesus. Why does it mean that God made an oath? This means that God will absolutely send Jesus Christ to earth. What was God’s main concern that he made this oath? it was to save us. God wanted salvation for us. God wanted to save us. For this to happen, god sent us Jesus Christ and that is why God made this oath to fulfill this promise. Is there something you can feel from here? God made an oath to save us and send us Jesus. What do you feel from this? This shows how much God sees us as so precious. We haven’t been able to give the proper glory to God but God loves us so much and sees us as very precious in His eyes.
Zephaniah 3:17 (“The Lord your God in your midst, The Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.”) - god who is with us has the power to save us as the almighty God. God loves us so much that He rejoices with gladness. When God just sees our faces, He can’t contain His happiness and joy. When you are so happy, you can’t contain it. This is how much God loves you.
Not only that but God will quiet you with His love. God loves you so much that it can't be expressed with words. He will rejoice you with singing - God is so happy by just looking at you. We can’t properly pray but when we pray with so many flaws, God is so happy and rejoices with overflowing. God loves so much. We need to open our spiritual eyes to see this.
Isaiah 43:4 “Since you were precious in My sight, You have been honored, And I have loved you; Therefore I will give men for you, And people for your life.”) - God considered us as precious. We are so precious in God’s eyes that we have been honored. When you look at your children, you see them as so precious and honored. You love them so much that you see them as so precious. This is God’s love towards you. For that reason, God sent Jesus Christ to us. God didn’t lightheartedness send us Jesus but God loved so much that God sent His one and only Son.
2) The eternal Christ
Hebrews 2:14-15 (“Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, 15 and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.”) - in order to save us, God thought carefully and decided that since mankind has flesh and blood, He needed to save mankind with flesh and blood. We who have flesh and blood, we should die but God sent Jesus in flesh and blood to die on our behalf. In order to crush the head of the serpent, God sent Jesus Christ to die on the cross. In order to save us, Jesus Christ died on the cross. People are so scared to die and when they just see demons, they are crippled with so much fear. They have no power to kill that demon but God is the one who determines life and death. Because the demons try to threaten us with death, we have no choice but to cripple before them with fear. This is how much we are deceived but it is God who makes the ultimate decision regarding life and death.
Hebrews 5:9-10 (“And having been perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him, 10 called by God as High Priest 'according to the order of Melchizedek.' ”) - those who accept Christ and follow him, and seek God for forgiveness, God accepts and saves them. God loved us so much that when God forgives us our sins, our sins are completely cleansed. It was Jesus Chirst who came through the Melchizedek as the true priest.
Hebrews 3:14 (“For we have become partakers of Christ if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end.”) - when we hold onto the covenant and realize, then we can experience God with us and the praises that come. Jesus has all authority and power over heaven and earth. When Jesus is with us, then nothing is impossible. Receive blessings. What must we do now?
3. The Ministry of Christ
1) Healing ministry
Hold onto Romans 12:1 (“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.”) - In other words, God loved so much that He sent Jesus to die on the cross for us and we must entrust our lives to God. When I read this scripture, I received answers. One time, I came back from a trip, I developed a fever. I thought my fever would disappear the next day but my fever kept getting worse and worse. I thought I had the coronavirus so I knelt before God and prayed. I held onto this Bible verse. I am yours, God. God is the one who determines who lives or dies. I will entrust my body and life to you, God. I will entrust my entire life to you, God. If there is something that God wants me to do, then God answers my prayer. Even though you may think my prayer was lighthearted but I was praying with my wholeheartedness. The moment I finished my prayer, my fever completely disappeared from my head to toes. I gave a prayer of thanksgiving.
Matthew 12:44-45 (“Then he says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came.’ And when he comes, he finds it empty, swept, and put in order. 45 Then he goes and takes with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter and dwell there; and the last state of that man is worse than the first. So shall it also be with this wicked generation.”) - This Bible verse was regarding the healing of demon possession. When we pray, it records what we must do when we pray. As you know well, when a demon was casted out, it started wondering around but it returned back to the person that they left. When they found that person empty, they entered back Tinto this heart with seven more spirits more wicked than himself into this person. Many people go to church, they may become demon possession and may yell out for the demons to be casted out but that demon may leave temporarily. But when that demon leaves that person, that person become empty. The gospel is not within that person so of course, there is no master within that person so that demon entered back into the person with seven more wicked demons than himself. What does this mean? In order to receive proper healing, we need to make it where we need to have Jesus and the Holy Spirit to reside within our heart. When the Holy Spirit resides within our heart, then darkness cannot enter no matter what. When you become healed of your disease, many people stop coming to church, but you should not do that. Your problems will become more severe and worse.
You need to hold onto Matthew 6:33 ("But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. ") - You need to hold onto the covenant first. Within your heart, you need to see and hold onto the kingdom and Holy Spirit, and God will carry out His work within you. When you hold the covenant, there will be three answers that will come to you as spoken through the 1st message. This is the answer that you must receive.
2) The answer the conqueror will enjoy
The 12 spies who entered the land of Canaan. We need to go out with the correct covenant before we go out to the field. This is receiving answers in advance. The 12 spies went, 10 of them didn’t hold onto the covenant but Joshua and Caleb held onto the covenant as they went out to the land of Canaan. They held onto the covenant that God will grant them the land of Canaan. The 10 spies, they felt overwhelmed and threatened with the people in Canaan. Those who went in without holding the word of God became very frightened. Those who entered with the Word of God said with assurance that this was the land they will live in. To hold onto the Word means that I have received answers in advance.
Joshua and Caleb held onto the word that the land will be flowing with milk and honey. They held onto this covenant that God granted them this land of milk and honey. They held onto the covenant that God was with them. Even when they entered it not he field, they held onto the fact that God was with them. God is with them so there was no need for them to worry about the people already in the land of Canaan. When you can’t hold onto the fact that God is with you, then you have not choice but to be in fear and lack confidence. When you hold onto the fact that God is with you then you have confidence. God is with you. This is part of God’s plan. There are greater blessings of God within this.
There is a mission. This is very important. The 12 tribes entered into the land of Canaan and God established the 12 tribes. When they entered into the land of Canaan, they split into their separate tribes. Why did they have to enter Canaan? In order for them to do world evangelism. In other words, God gave us answers but why did God give us answers? There is God’s will and plan with those answers. In order to do world evangelism and to share the answer of Christ, God sent them to the land of Canaan. The most important promise that God gave to us through the Bible was for us to go to all nations. God promised Abraham that all nations will be blessed because of him. Jesus spoke that all nations will be evangelized. Jesus commanded for us to share the gospel to all nations and to all 237 nations. This is the covenant that God has given to us.
Last time I told you that more people with severe mental problems are increasing and strange people. Why is that? It is God's command for us to heal them. God promised us that He will bring healing to this world. In order for this to happen, God gives us his word. become the people who Receive answers. Hold onto the covenant and word and go out, and God will answer you.
Conclusion
Hold onto Jeremiah 33:2-3 (“This is what the Lord says, he who made the earth, the Lord who formed it and established it—the Lord is his name: 3 ‘Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.’ ”) - God established all things. God determines life and death. Failure and success - God decides that as well. You may seem like you are living the life that you want but it is God who guides your life. If that is so, entrust it to God and pray to Him. Then great answers will come to you.
